It's no longer Durham. It's now Harrogate, for the same reason but also because of the airport.

Harrogate has some nice shops doesn't it? Honest people, nice shops, an airport and no pig-slaughtering carers, what more could she want? Don't ask her - she might tell you

Harrogete is kwaite naice, and, more importantly, has a Betty's.

She's making more and more sense...

I'm hoping I have a massive heart attack before the dementia overtakes me. It's a cruel world and it's looking more and more unlikely that we'll ever be allowed to opt for a long sleep, never to wake up. My ultimate nightmare is to be completely dependent on other people.

When you're feeling better, thee and me must go down to t'pub. If only to talk about those who haven't seen the light.

Alas, no, only in ma's world. But then Warsaw's in London in that world too.

Obviously it's not really funny but I've just spent half an hour on the phone defending myself because apparently I haven't opened the shop on time. I've no idea what shop and neither does she but that doesn't stop it all being my fault. She's going to see a solicitor about it. If I didn't laugh sometimes I'd cry.

If it's a cake shop, I'll see you there.

Keep smiling, and try not to imagine how the solicitor will feel... thankfully they don't work on Saturdays, though I expect she's got an interesting alternative up her sleeve.

Here, well... motivation, that's what I need. By the bucketload. It's in jolly short supply. I'm staring at a job vacancy for which I feel I'd be totally punching above my weight, yet with a strange sense of inevitability too. It's weird.

Not into it, gave it a listen though. No idea what the difference is between the genres, seeing the comments on the first track I was reminded that I did rather enjoy Sandstorm - Darude - if that counts.

That reminds me of a joke someone played on me in school. A friend pointed at an invisible little man in the palm of her hand saying: 'look, I've got a little gnome here, and I'm going to undress it now. First I'm going to take of his little jacket... so can you hold that for me?'
And of course I took it, holding it in the air between finger and thumb, fascinated where the story would go, until at the end of the joke I confessed to not believing in gnomes and the friend pointed at my pinched finger and thumb, still hight in the air, firmly holding on to its jacket.

Hope you're having a good weekend grumpies, or looking forward to one.

Hahaha

Sad - she thinks a local estate agent is her solicitor. I've had reason to speak to them already.

Found a couple of gems there... blimey. Never knew I was a closet techno fan

Herbie Hancock - Rock it
and
New Order - Blue Monday
and
Jan Hammer - Crockett's theme
...and your thread made me think of another two I used to play incessantly ;o
The Rah band - The Crunch
and
Space - Magic Fly

I've gone all nostalgic now, ta for that.

And I'm not at all grumpy this evening because my boy is home. Only because he needed his computer fixing, and he's upstairs using it as I type, but it means he'll be here in the morning and we'll have a whole day together as a family, which makes a jolly nice change ....

.... mind you I bet by Monday I'll be glad to have the house to myself again

If you would add to the relevant thread.

Another year gone. Where does the time go. 48 on Tuesday.
