In a similar too-many-shandies situation I got seriously eyed up the other week, so to silence ribald comments from chums, went over to inform the lady that she might consider going to Specsavers 'cos I am no oil painting. She was hammered but her mate was really nice about it and was trying to fix us up so I made my excuses and left (as they used to say in the NoW).

You're a lovely old woman, KJ

I've had a day out with Melony and Grandad, of which the high point was the following conversation coming clearly from the stream where the two of them were playing, M shoe-less and sock-less, leggings rolled up to knees.

M - This part is a bit cold, Gwandad. *pause* I am paggling!
G - You are, Melony. *pause* Maybe come this way a bit, though
M - It is awl wight. I am fine.
G - You're going to fall over if you keep going that way
M - (indignantly) No I yam not!!!! ... *pause* ... Oh, Gwandad! I am soakeded!

...and we all retired to the car for a clean set of clothes

Just seen that our recent crocodile incident has made it on to DS - he was found about 5 minutes from where I live

It's a beautiful morning out there, breezy and 21C, no doubt it will warm up a bit later but I do love winter here! Actually, it's bloody cold in our house - I've got a jumper on and my hands are freezing - I need fingerless gloves but there isn't much call for them here!

That's fab.

I doubt Plum can use iPlayer from Oz, but the music on Plum's video reminded me of this, which has to be the best animal documentary *ever*:

Give it 5 preferably 10 minutes, you'll be hooked.

We went to see Captain America this afternoon. The boys seem to like it and it gave me and my friend a chance to catch up, which was good.

We did try watching it but then my friend went to sleep and I ate lots of chocolate.

It really sagged in the middle. The film did. I probably will too, soon.

*groans @ snowy*

A quiet day here - housework, bit of shopping, too bloody hot and stuffy.
Saw my gynae who wants a second scan then I have to see him again next week, but at least things are moving. Probably going to have to have the whole lot hauled out, but he's going to try to leave one ovary to avoid instant menopause... which is nice!
Updates as I get them, if you want them...

Given that my food intake is rapidly catching up with batty's - shall we just call ourselves Saggy Old Women for a bit and see how that flies?

It nicely shortens to SOW, which sits perfectly with my recent piggery.

I'm off on a 20 mile bike ride later, though. It's vital for my mental health...

KJ warn us next time and we'll send vibes. Though I am sure you don't need 'em Best of British anyway

Here - another largely unproductive day, and a lovely evening catching up with an old friend and her two boys who I've not seen for ages. It were fab

Her youngest is now 6' tall and has to bend down to hug me though But I was chuffed he still wanted to - he's not a hugger as a rule.

And, and, and... Little Saddette has reached the finals of the talent contest at her scout camp. There are only 12 of them .... lots of vibes for a winning performance tomorrow. Just wish I could be there to see it. Instead of which, I get to tidy her room. Life's cruel at times

It's a bloke thing. Just to know friends *would* send vibes really helps me go for it. I'm a "don't count chickens" personality, as some of you know my first thought about anything is ...

.. what could possibly go wrong?

PS 3 cans on a weekday. I have stepped back from the brink.

Stepped back from the brink, or the drink?

We've had rain here today - it was lovely, but it's still very warm. Far too warm to be up in the loft. *whistles innocently*

It was boiling here all day till about 4pm, and then we had massive thundery/lightning things and a torrential downpour. Much cooler and breezier now - what a relief!

Melony and I went round to her BF's house at about half two and they went in the paddling-pool, sandpit, shower and BF's bedroom in that order () while we had a good gossip and three cups of tea. Then I got drowned getting in the car to go home cos the storm was still raging and pouring and I was in a sundress and sandals... arg!

KJ - Well done! All digits crossd for a positive out-turn

Well done to Sadette - and I wouldn't have been in a loft for *anybody's* money today, Sad!

I'm contemplating hiding the contents of the loft in a friend's garage.

Still 19 degrees here and it's nearly midnight. More thunder and rain would be good....
