Happy birthday BW and grrr at the other news.

Lots of happy returns to Collette too.

Me, not so grumpy. I found a whole Italian type cake from before Christmas and it needs to be eaten by the end of April. I've started already and it's going well.

Well done, batty, keep it up!

Wendy, that totally sucks!
Hope something else comes along, and that you manage to have a decent celebration anyway.
Happy Birfadee ((((hug))))

Happy Birfadee to Collette, too

PS - Sad - don't mention it. You did the same for me

Love it!!

THanKs too Snowy

BG: Nothing on offer at the moment but jobs in my field should be advertised in the next month or so. I've decided not to attempt to 'climb the ladder' any further but hope to settle for a lower grade and possibly part time post and drop all the worries/pressure.

Any of that Italian cake left?

Just reporting in for duty

Plodding along, getting on with stuff. Making very little progress with the big stuff but will get there in the end! I'm keeping on keeping on and finding stuff to make me laugh as always. I had a drama yesterday morning, I'd just dropped LittlePlum at school and was on my way home, waiting at a junction to turn left when KABOOOOOOM! a car hit me! positvely made me shriek - I was quite startled! Lovely man driving the other car though, positvely charming - I couldn't stop shaking and was a little bit weepy in a most wussy fashion! I was shaking so much that i did proper old lady writing when we were exchanging details, the writing was all over the place and just plain wobbly. Made me laugh though. The guy was quite concerned whether i would be ok to drive home, but it was only about a minute drive from home, he had a couple of hours drive ahead of him, so I felt more sorry for him! Poor car is a bit busted at the back, so not sure how that is going to affect/delay it's sale/transfer. Will have to wait and see. I'm ok though so that is the main thing, the rest is just metal and plastic.

I was looking forward to a quiet start to the day today as I'm a bit tired after yesterdays drama and then I was called into work last night so I only had 4 hours sleep and YoungPlum chose this morning to forget her school hat and they have their annual cross country run this morning ... so I had to deposit her at school and do a mad dash home and back with the offending hat! Actually, the hat didn't offend but the child did, but she's lovely so I'm choosing to be cross with the hat for daring to have left her school bag without authority.

Well my tea should be ready to drink now so I'm going to gulp it down and go off and do the food shopping that should have been done yesterday. Hope everyone sleeps well, dreams happy dreams and has a good day tommorrow!

GOW and the people therein are the best

If he hit the back of you, Plums, he owes you a repair job!

So you might end up with a better price for the car in the end (www.silverlining.com)

My thoughts exactly HM - and mega hugs to the Plumster ((((((((((((((((((((((Plummy))))))))))))))))))))) for a horrid start to a day.

Here, I've just got home (some 10-3 day that turned out to be). I am befuddled and need to make life changing decisions I don't feel equipped for. Time to use up that rose wine that has been sitting in the fridge waiting for me to drink it for all of 24 hours.

So you're planning to get pissed and only then make that life changing decision? Sounds like a plan.

Plum, what a time you're having of it. Things can only get better, right?

I've been a busy... nearly said girl! Woman. I've been a busy woman. And I wouldn't mind joining you for a glass Sad, but I've an early start tomorrow, so I won't. Roll on Friday night.

*waves to Collette*

I AM SOOOOO GRUMPY! Even though it's Friday.

Yes, it's my mum and all the problems that go with trying to help her, while all the while she rejects any hint of help and protests that there's nothing wrong with her (having just asked for the 200th time if she has a dentist's appointment and if so when). Her teeth really need sorting out, as does her house and garden, and that's on top of the weekly struggle to keep her eating and from getting lost.

If I hear "why didn't you tell me?!" one more time I swear I'll scream. I know she can't help it but it's really shitty being blamed all the time for all the things she forgets. I remind her, I write things down on a big calendar, I write the same thing down in her diary, I leave notes where she'll see them and then I remind her again about 100 times per whatever. And then it's a great big surprise to her and I'm the bad guy because... I SHOULD HAVE TOLD HER!!! and then she starts having a go and doesn't hold back.

Thank god I drink.

Thanks you lovely lot. I feel better already. And I haven't touched a drop yet.

I think I might have *carer fatigue*. I'm not sure if such a thing formally exists but it definitely exists!

I have already stopped.

Something about Friday drinking at knocking off time appeals to me. No need to get carried away though.
