I've got hiccups now.

I rarely get them, but when I do, it could last a day.

Not joking here.

I phoned NHS Direct (yes really). It's not an emergency service, so no big deal. Hiccups have gone now anyway. A relief tbh, because last time they lasted for ages.

Just been phoned back and nothing to worry about.

I was going to suggest finding another (or even the same! ) young lady to have some fun with jra, as a distraction.

I've been sneezing a lot today but I quite like sneezing. (sneezing's a very funny looking word written down... maybe I'm not spelling it right... maybe I'm coming down with something... )

I was thinking of this one...

snOwy - too true.

handy - it really was

We went to see that Avengers thingy yesterday. I went under protest and got extra ice cream to make my point, but it was actually quite good.

Hmmm, we've been arguing about what to see tomorrow night and the Avengers thing is one the younger Sads want to see and us oldies aren't so keen on. I fancy seeing Snow White, personally. You wouldn't get me near Prometheus with a ten foot disinfected barge pole

(((((SNoWy)))) Isn't it just.

Today I have been shopping, getting drenched, and procrastinating, mostly. Half term has vanished very quickly thanks to Her Maj pinching two days of it

Sad, Avengers is fab. Joss Whedon (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) wrote the story and the screenplay and directed it - proper Big Cinema film. You won't regret it...

snowy - we need reminding of that sometimes, don't we?

I'm at work, with the last bit of a KFC lunchbox and loads to do before kids return on Monday... bleh!

*waves at the passing melon*

(which paints quite a picture )

Footy night here and the boys are watching the opening game. Poland have just scored so they're happy. I'm happy too, actually. I just wish that the Polish government had given us my family's land back before plonking a football stadium on it. Thieving wotnots. Grrrrr etc. Their latest scam, sorry, proposal, is that everyone with a claim needs to stump up something like 5% of the value, then there's a court case, and if you lose they keep the 5%. The response so far is that thousands of Poles are wondering if they look like they were born yesterday.

Anyway, people are being shown red and yellow cards. Exciting.

Well, she was an improvement on Dark Shadows, that's for sure. Bit of a hybrid really - sort of Disney meets Lord of the Rings

I'm going to get an early night after BB. Knackered dot com and back to work on Monday. Bugger

Psssst.... Batty, can't you round up some old landowners and stage a sit-in on the pitch? Give them something more interesting to report on

I've got a similar story, where the communists seized a prime site that my grandfather rented out in the former East Germany. It would be worth millions today if sold.

The communists froze the rent and as a result of that my grandfather couldn't afford the upkeep of the very large property, so the communists seized control.

We're talking about a central site in a city of nearly 250,000 inhabitants.

My family history is so complicated I just can't get my head around it, thanks to Nazi Germany. What happened when, years and dates and that all of us are so separated.

There again I wouldn't be here if the second world war had never existed.

Sorry if the above is a bit too serious for the thread. But it all makes me .
