Anyway. It appears I've upset a former friend, whom I haven't seen for quite a while. I phoned him up on his mobile twice and he hung up both times, without saying anything, other than hello to answer the phone call. I don't know what I've done to upset him, but there you go.

Bloody hell jra. How awful.

It happened to me once. I had a wonderful friend who I partied with quite a bit, and then she went all cold and weird on me. It was just after I got pregnant so that's the only thing I can think of that I did that might've upset her (if you know what I mean) but she didn't want to talk about it and eventually we moved away and that was that. I'm still sad when I think about it, though. And it's odd not knowing for sure...

Anyway, I hope you and your mate manage to sort things out.

I know what you are saying. A long time ago I told a workmate some personal details about my life and all of a sudden it was like I didn't exist.

Tbh, the guy in my previous post can go and eff himself. I know I'm rather outspoken, but I can't for the life of me think what I've done. At least have the balls to tell me instead of just putting down the phone.

As the expression goes 'there's nowt so queer as folk'.

@ the peeps here. What would you do, just leave it or send an SMS along the lines 'why don't you want to talk to me' or 'thanks for hanging up on me twice, without explanation'. I expect the former is better, as I'm unlikely to get a reply whatever I send.

I'm not very good at just leaving things, they quietly bug me otherwise. I would be inclined to text along the lines of "You hung up on me twice, it seems you don't wish to speak to me? If that is so, then I expect you will have the courage/decency/balls to tell me why. Perhaps there has been a misunderstanding"

Nothing ventured, nothing gained. It could of course open a can of worms, but obviously you know your own life and a clear conscience with regards to worms and cans thereof will make that decision easier

Thank you. I'll leave it for now. Part of me wants an explanation and part is me is saying why do I care. If I do send him a text, I might get a reply I don't like, but as I live in a large town and tend to socialize in London rather than here, I'm unlikely to bump into him in the near future.

Belated hello back, snowy!

Am guessing you might be pollinated - it's bloody awful at the moment.

No luck with the job - boo! - though actually I think he's secretly relieved

But ... our laptop is Back and Working!

Hope all OK.
How were Madness, Sad? Are you dry yet?

Boo for the job news and boo for the footy result.

Ra for chocolate biscuits (of which I've eaten several).

At the time you asked the question, but on Saturday, I was getting properly drenched at Jodrell Bank....thankfully the rain held off for Madness the night before, but ... well...
this is not my video but you'll get the idea

I have bad insomnia from too much red bull last night which I needed for the drive home... we got in around 3.30am. Possibly the scariest drive of my life in the weather conditions. I've slept most of today and now my body clock is totalled. Piriton it is, then

P.S. jra - fwiw, I'd always opt for asking the question. I've lost count of the number of times I've regretted not asking wtf did I do....

I'll catch up properly eventually... only 21 working days to go, and one of those (today, fortunately) is a day off in lieu

Ooh, you saw Elbow live????? *is jellus*
I'd have happily got drenched for that - though maybe not as badly as you did.
Don't they sound great?!? *swoons*

Horrible driving in rain like that, though.
Hope your brain nearly back to normal!

Batty - chocolate biscuits... now there's an idea!

I have spent today potttering about in my dressing gown, doing lots of silly little jobs that needed doing, scared the Sainsbury's delivery driver a bit, made the postie laugh, and have just popped a casserole in the oven. I'm rather looking forward to unemployment

Going to have a shower now and make myself presentable, a la 'fifties wife'

Got the mother of all chesty coughs and a dog with the runs, but other than that, it's been a good day

EW. You know how to party, our Snowy.

Tired dot com. But tomorrow is another day. Trying to avoid the pleading gaze of a starving labrador right now

Just think of the mess if you give in, Sad, that should do the trick!

Poo Tip of the Day: Never walk behind a cow doing a poo. It might cough at a crucial moment. SKOOOOOOSSSHHHH......!

Are you telling us you've stopped cow tipping these days?

Only in jest, handymelon.

Oh, poor snowy!
Like being 4 all over again, isn't it? Hope the little sods go away soon!

jra - I grew up on a dairy farm and speak from bitter experience
Never actually tried cow-tipping, but there was a cow-tipping society at Hull Uni when I was there in the late 80s. They had T-shirts with the slogan "MOO..... thud!"

Poor snOwy (((snowster))). I know very little about it but it sounds very 'orrible. Hope you get better soon.

I'm not sure I approve of cow tipping. Something I also know very little about... But I like cows (being an old one myself, yes ).

I've had a crap and very long day trying to sort out things for other people and getting very cross. I've achieved not a lot but did managed to inform the Revenue that I don't own a crystal ball and out-stare a social worker after uttering the phrase *that's not good enough*. Context not important btw.

I don't know how anyone could have the balls to try to outstare the Bat, personally

Handy... loving the t-shirt logos so much

Dog is being fed home cooked chicken and rice and thinks he's died and gone to heaven. We, on the other hand, had dinner from the chip van. Hmmmm. Something's wrong with this picture....

Hello Grumpies, I'm sorry i've not been popping in and out but I've had my grumps to see me through. My mum doesn't have internet. I've not had a decent internet access to the net to share my grumps.

My mum - bless her and I love her to bits - well .... She has her "wee days out" - vascular dementia

Himself his been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes and it's all my fault according to my MIL

There are months of grumps I could add but - hell we all have grumps.

Scabies - I do actually miss the classroom for a wee while.... The Triple Whammy letter home was always good for outrage among the parents .... Scabies, Nits and Impetigo. The added bonus of Threadworms in your class could mean you WON the infectious little angels prize for the term or school year in the staff room. This was back in the day .....

Good non Grumpie news - Eldest daughter engaged, youngest daughter going to study Nursing at Leeds and middle daughter going to work at the big mac donalds in the Olympic Village. She is also studying for a full time degree so I think she needs an additional "well done our Lass"

I'll try catch up but I will need to go back home in a few days.

I Love all the Grumpies X

PQ, I think you need a wrap in the showl yourself! (((((((((((((huggle))))))))))))))))
Glad there's some good things happening too!

Sad - dinner from the chip van sounds perfectly good to me!

Batty - you scare *me* and I'm your mate. Silly social worker ((((((hugs for stress)))))))

Not too much hassle here today as it's lots of "last days" for my Year 8 groups, so we've been having fun. Woo-hoo...
