Well it sounds as though 25,000 people had an amazing afternoon. Joe was onstage for nearly and hour and a half. Can't wait to see all the videos and read the reviews.

Didn't go in the end because I didn't much fancy a crowd of 20,000 plus on my own in a place I didn't know - so looking forward to the uploads

Just popping in to say that I was one of the 25,000 and really enjoyed the afternoon. The weather was glorious and it was good to hear Joe live. I could understand why Rolando wants him to study opera when I heard the "Nessun Dorma", he has a really lovely sound to his voice which television didn't do justice to.

I was right at the back, I hope all of you here who went got really good spots near the front of the stage.

I have lived in South Tyneside for many years and spent loads of time down on South Shields seafront, but never have I spent such a day as yesterday. It was perfect! The sun shone down and I have never seen people so happy and enjoying a day so much.

I was there early, like all the usual forum suspects, to secure a front stage view of Joe. Apart from the fantastic atmosphere and mutual appreciation of Joe whilst standing in the queue, we were rewarded with a preview of the fantastic Joe doing his sound check early on. He waved to the waiting crowd.

Our much sought after positions secured the show got underway and it didn't disappoint. I wondered how 20,000 people were going to squeeze into tiny Bents Park? In the end, apparently 25,000 came to support and enjoy the experience of the wonderful Joe McElderry. The adoration was immense.

Joe was just amazing. He took us on an unforgettable journey through the storey so far and leaving us tit bits (to analyse and ponder about) of where he is going. He just sang and danced his way through one song after the other and interacted with the crowd. How can anyone be out of breath doing all that dancing and still sing perfectly? Don't anyone ever tell me he is not a popstar! He is an amazing pop star and should absolutely not give up this genre of music completely.

Joe jumped from dance pop to the most wonderful ballads and threw in an operatic aria. He never let up from thrilling and inspiring the audience.

He had me at Dance with my Father and again through Nessun Dorma. Then clapping my hands and dancing through all his pop tunes.

Due to my circumstances, I have not been in a position to get to the gigs since X Factor Tour like so many of his adoring fans. I have had to rely on fans' videos and roving reporting to keep me up to date. The difference to how Joe performed on the show and on the XF Tour is phenomenal. I can't believe how confident he is on stage, how he works the audience and how much respect they have for him. Judging by what I saw, Joe's audience appeals to a broad demographic range. Children, teenage, 20s, 30s, 40s and upwards, male or female they were all singing along to his songs and loving every bit of this young man. How mature and professional he has become.

I was told by the regulars that the South Shields performance was the best to date and I can well believe it. I am so happy that I had the privilege of seeing and experiencing the amazing young and up and coming talent that is Joe McElderry. I still don't think we have seen the best of him yet. There is more to come.

When this new album comes out, which I just know I am going to love, I genuinely can say that I don't care one iota about Charting positions, covers, or comparisons made with other artists. As far as I am concerned Joe is a long-awaited, one-off, quality singing/performing talent and I personally will not slot him into Pop, Stage, Opera or anything else. Joe is Joe McElderry, unique and able to offer a package of just pure entertainment.

Best of luck Joe with your future if it is to be in the Entertainment World! You are an absolute Star!

Thank you so much for yesterday!

What a lovely post. It is so nice to find a young man who enjoys singing as much as Joe does. They are very few and far between! As you know I am a long-time fan of Will Young and Joe reminds me of him in his enthusiasm for his craft.

This appears to be a slightly different arrangement but still brilliant. Thanks for the clip.

I also had the great privilege to see Joe at Bents Park yesterday afternoon and he was simply stunning

I'm still recovering - from the 5.30am start after only 4 hours sleep the night before, hours of queueing and standing and then staying up late last night because we were too buzzing to go to sleep so I promise I'll write a longer review soon (tonight if I don't fall asleep too early!).

I did find time to uplaod some of the videos from yesterday on JoeMusicPromo YT - though there are stll lots of great videos to come and I'm sure Joanne, MichelleMK, Aquarius and hgm23105 will be along later with more treats

For now here are ...

Love is War, Don't Stop Believin' & The Climb
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tlWyGd659l8

If you usually skip DSB and The Climb - watch these two performances! Joe jumped down off the stage during DSB and got very up close and personal for half a minute or so with our little group *feels faint again at the thought* and then he took a young lady called Sophie up on stage to sing The Climb with him

Hint: always stand by the steps and don't try to use Grandma Hilda as a camera rest (you can see her - or rather the top of her head - in front of us at the barrier)

Amazing post cara..left me with a big smile on my face
Thank you everyone who has & will be posting videos, I can't wait to get some time to watch them all properly..I've seen some of Hayley's & it looks like it was definitely something very special.

Was there no performance of ambitions? Seems likes a strange one to leave out...but I'm soo happy that he did if you love me, can't help but think this would have been a perfect first single for Joe, or on the album at least..sounds great live too

Was a great show, I watched and observed all of the videos on the JoeMusicPromo channel and Joe's vocals sound amazing on them.

It's a shame that Joe didn't sing Superman, that was one of my favorites from his first album. Also, I would have loved for him to sing more opera songs rather than just Nessun Dorma. What about La Donna E Mobile? It did test Joe's vocals so it would sound even better if he performed it live.

Hi everyone have been lurking for a while so thought it was about time I rejoined the thread!

I was there at Bents Park, there isn't much I can add to the growing number of glowing reports, it was the highlight of my Joe experience. I added it up the other day and I have seen Joe live 15 times so far, have loved every one but Sunday's was the best for me.

I am beyond excited for his new album, if the list of songs that are rumoured to be on it is true I will be very happy indeed.

Hi SGG it was so lovely to see you again.

In fact it was lovely to meet up with so many and establish new friendships.

Adaseye - I haven't forgotten our convo in the pub! I have found what I was looking for.

Thanks to everyone for the news, reviews and links to Joe's Homecoming Show. So exciting to see how well he performed, the crowd support and to know that so many of the forum people managed to meet up and enjoy each other's company over the weekend too, and as always to share with others who weren't there so generously.

The atmosphere building up to the release of Joe's second album is so, so different to the cautious concern before the release of Wide Awake. Much as I loved that album, I think this is going to be in another league. Can't wait.
