I have lived in South Tyneside for many years and spent loads of time down on South Shields seafront, but never have I spent such a day as yesterday. It was perfect!

The sun shone down and I have never seen people so happy and enjoying a day so much.
I was there early, like all the usual forum suspects, to secure a front stage view of Joe. Apart from the fantastic atmosphere and mutual appreciation of Joe whilst standing in the queue, we were rewarded with a preview of the fantastic Joe doing his sound check early on. He waved to the waiting crowd.
Our much sought after positions secured the show got underway and it didn't disappoint. I wondered how 20,000 people were going to squeeze into tiny Bents Park? In the end, apparently 25,000 came to support and enjoy the experience of the wonderful Joe McElderry. The adoration was immense.
Joe was just amazing. He took us on an unforgettable journey through the storey so far and leaving us tit bits (to analyse and ponder about) of where he is going. He just sang and danced his way through one song after the other and interacted with the crowd. How can anyone be out of breath doing all that dancing and still sing perfectly?

Don't anyone ever tell me he is not a popstar!

He is an amazing pop star and should absolutely not give up this genre of music completely.
Joe jumped from dance pop to the most wonderful ballads and threw in an operatic aria. He never let up from thrilling and inspiring the audience.
He had me

at Dance with my Father and again through Nessun Dorma.

Then clapping my hands and dancing through all his pop tunes.
Due to my circumstances, I have not been in a position to get to the gigs since X Factor Tour like so many of his adoring fans. I have had to rely on fans' videos and roving reporting to keep me up to date. The difference to how Joe performed on the show and on the XF Tour is phenomenal. I can't believe how confident he is on stage, how he works the audience and how much respect they have for him. Judging by what I saw, Joe's audience appeals to a broad demographic range. Children, teenage, 20s, 30s, 40s and upwards, male or female they were all singing along to his songs and loving every bit of this young man. How mature and professional he has become.
I was told by the regulars that the South Shields performance was the best to date and I can well believe it. I am so happy that I had the privilege of seeing and experiencing the amazing young and up and coming talent that is Joe McElderry. I still don't think we have seen the best of him yet. There is more to come.
When this new album comes out, which I just know I am going to love, I genuinely can say that I don't care one iota about Charting positions, covers, or comparisons made with other artists. As far as I am concerned Joe is a long-awaited, one-off, quality singing/performing talent and I personally will not slot him into Pop, Stage, Opera or anything else. Joe is Joe McElderry, unique and able to offer a package of just pure entertainment.
Best of luck Joe with your future if it is to be in the Entertainment World! You are an absolute Star!
Thank you so much for yesterday!
