I love the thought of a full length version of Dance With My Father, I thought the acoustic version Joe sang at TCT this week was stunning. Also I'd definitely love Nessun Dorma to be on the new album.

I don't mind either way about SOTR but I'm not keen on IDAD, unless it's an acknowledgement to MT in the future maybe.

I would love the album to include one or two acoustics and I would absolutely love them to include at least one live track - can you imagine if they recorded something live next week at Bents Park and included it on the album ”

The list is a strange mixture of tracks. Some, like IDAD I'm not keen of. However, I do like Va Pensiero - I hope it is this version:

Hello to everyone, nice to see a new part and so many posts over the last week. Welcome to any new posters and always lovely to see familiar names too.

So looking forward to hearing more about the new album, so he is in the studio from Tuesday now. Do we know how many tracks there are likely to be? I really hope we get a version of 'Something's Coming' after the rave reviews from the show at Buckingham Palace. Everything seems to be coming together in a much more positive way for Joe now and I couldn't be more pleased for him. We could do with a bit of stress- free time in Joeland!

Really wish I could be with all the fans going to Bents Park, but working the best part of the weekend so just wouldn't be feasible for me. Will definitely be soaking up the atmosphere from twitter, here and the other forums. No need to say to all of you going to have a great time, we all know it is going to be fantastic. Just enjoy and hope the sun shines for all of you.

It wasn't online Josie but in the printed edition of the Newcastle Evening Chronicle
Quote:
“Songs lined up for the album include Va Pensiero, Nessun Dorma (in English and Italian), Solitaire, Dance With My Father, Time To Say Goodbye, Over The Rainbow and I Dreamed A Dream”

obviously the only one that has been confirmed is DWMF

I Dreamed a Dream is a song for a woman actually. It is from Les Mis as you will know. It is a stand out song in the show.

Hi Cara. *waves back from down Suffolk way. Hope you are well.

Thought Joes interview with Terry Wogan was very good. Was pleased that TW played ND so his usual listeners could hear for themselves how versatile Joe is.

As far as Joes new album goes I think Decca/Universal are trying to attract the PSTOS voters but isn't that what we were all wanting after XF. To strike while the iron was hot.

Apart from Va Pensiero which I must confess I have never even heard of I like the other songs. Whether the info is factually correct remains to be seen. I have heard it rumoured that he will also be singing Solitaire and Imagine too. Only time will tell.

I do wonder though if Joe will become more of a performer than a recording artist.
Using PSTOS as a guide and specifically Vanessa Mae and Katherine Jenkins their estimated wealth doesn't come solely from record sales but more from performances. Joe has always said that he would rather be on stage than in a recording studio.
Only time will tell but I honestly believe that Joe now has the opportunity to take his career in which ever direction he chooses. He is 20yrs old and has all it ahead of him.
As he said in one of his interviews he wants to be able to have a chance to try everything. Apart from BB and IAC obviously.

I also just don't see this as a song that reflects Joe in any way - he's just turned 20 with his whole life ahead of him - I know it's a great song for that show and it worked for Susan because of her story but I just don't see it fitting with Joe

I'm also curious as to how Joe will sing the songs I mean ND really is best in an opera voice but DWMYF - would be great in Joe's usual fab voice so he would have a different voice for different songs on the same album.

I tell ya something it sure is interesting

Hi ya.

Yeah Joe would love a tour - in so many interviews he's said that's his real dream - would love this album to be successful enough to make that happen for him.

I'm looking forward to Joe doing this but sorry I didn't like this version I'd like Joe to sing it in Italian - now that he's such a dab hand - what with pasta dishes and all

Yay new chapter, how very fitting. Can't wait for the next adventure, hope it's a fun and smoother ride for Joe than last time.

Fantastic, I loved Joe's TCT live lounge set, not only was it a sweet and lovely thing to do but it was pure heaven, even with a sore throat.

Thank you for this - have downloaded it and see the difference. Hadn't spotted it before but he does look a bit 'healthier' now on your corrected version by comparison Thanks again!

You star, Paula - thank you - thought it was a really good interview (surprisingly, as TW - bless him - could be marketed as an effective cure for insomnia ) - Joe really livened things up and when he said he'd be recording with an orchestra, that really made my day
Really liked that TW played half of Joe's Nessun Dorma too - was praying he'd play all of it but guess I shouldn't be too greedy

Can't WAIT for this album!!

I don't know if anyone else recorded the Metro Live takeover from yesterday? Just in case you have a more complete verison than I have. I was holding off posting my recording up as I missed a few seconds of his chat a few times, was hoping there would be a Listen Again link on the site but can't find one. So, here's a link to what I recorded ... still over 7 mins of Joe chat

Ditto to this
For me, this was his best set yet - and that's despite the sore throat, as you say. Thought of you Hayley when he sang the full version of DWMF ... could just picture you seal clapping

I adore his version of Price Tag (I did a bit of seal clapping myself when I first heard it ) - just can't stop playing that

Oooh thank you for the new links Paula and Michelle

So much Joe stuff going on this week I've been struggling to catch up, but as I ahve been doing I've been making a note of all the links to videos, articles and radio interviews.

I started tweeting them on JMP but I thought I might post them here as well so they're all on the new part of the thread if that's OK

I love his version of Price Tag too - he just makes the point of a song so clear. So many times I hear Joe sing a song and go - oh that's what it's about

You're welcome YL and it's great isn't it! Very exciting times in McElderryLand at the moment - long may it continue! Thanks for all your hard work tweeting links from JMP ... half expecting to see stumps where thumbs should be now, when I see you next weekend for Bents Park

Well said - he does seem to bring each song to life doesn't he. Thought I'd better listen to some non-Joe songs for a bit of a change the other day and had forgotten I had Robbie's version of No Regrets on my ipod ... that had totally passed me by. Had to listen immediately afterwards to Joe's version (so much for varying my musical diet, lol) and it seemed like a whole different (better) song than Robbie's version. I hold my hands up to being biassed - but Joe definitely has the knack of improving songs. I never thought I'd end up enjoying 'Promise This' either.

Look forward to watching all this later - I was so nervous this time last week couldn't really appreciate it all (although I have watched the performances many time since I haven't seen the extended versions)

So great to see this thread with a bit of life again - onwards & upwards!

Waves to everyone on here. The Oldies (me included ) and the newbies. These are exciting times as everyone else has pointed out.

Well Michelle. I totally agree with you on No Regrets. The thing is could Robbie do PSTOS as well as Joe. I think not and here is the proof.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5HXNG...eature=related

So Robbie has been watching.
