TV3 is still a network in Ireland along with UTV Ireland

Another update:-

SAT. 6TH:-
STV - ADE AT SEA, NIGHTSHIFT (ITV - The Chase/Gambling/Jeremy Kyle/Nightscreen).

SUN. 7TH:-
STV - NIGHTSHIFT, NIGHTSCREEN (ITV - Gambling/Motorsport/Nightscreen/Jeremy Kyle).

MON. 8TH:-
STV - BIG AMERICAN FOOD TRIP (3 of 6) (ITV - Wild Exmoor) - primetime.
STV - SCOTLAND TONIGHT, NIGHTSHIFT, NIGHTSCREEN (ITV - Film: Carry On Screaming/Gambling/NIghtscreen/Jeremy Kyle).

TUE. 9TH:-
STV - As Monday (ITV - Gambling/Loose Women/Nightscreen/Jeremy Kyle).

WED. 10TH:-
STV - SCOTLAND TONIGHT, FILM: CARRY ON SCREAMING , NIGHTSHIFT, NIGHTSCREEN (ITV - More Tales From Northumberland/Gambling/Jeremy Kyle/Nightscreen/Jeremy Kyle).

THUR. 11TH:-
STV - THE LIE, SCOTLAND'S MURDER MYSTERIES (rpt - ) (ITV - Big Box Little Box/Britain's Busiest Airport Heathrow) - primetime.
STV - As Monday (ITV - Gambling/Tonight/Nightscreen/Jeremy Kyle).

FRI. 12TH:-
STV - NIGHTSHIFT (ITV - Gambling/Britain's Best Bakery/Nightscreen).

Comment: Once again instead of sensibly following ITV and airing a CARRY ON FILM after the Carry On documentary late night Monday STV oddly decides to show it 2 days later on the Wednesday!

Bizarrely SCOTLAND'S MURDER MYSTERIES is NOT 3 of 8 but a repeat of the first one screened a couple of months ago!

Programmes shown on ITV but not STV:-

WILD EXMOOR (May 2015), BIG BOX LITTLE BOX (May), BRITAIN'S BUSIEST AIRPORT - HEATHROW (May), WILD IRELAND (April), RAINING IN MY HEART (1 off April), POP GOLD (parts 2-7 March), MORE TALES FROM NORTHUMBERLAND (Feb), BARGING ROUND BRITAIN (Feb), SECRETS FROM THE SKY (Nov 2014), HOTEL IN THE CLOUDS (1 off Nov 2014 & rptd. ITV3 Feb 2015).

Also not shown:- SCOTLAND'S MURDER MYSTERIES (parts 3-8 March 2015).

I presume they want to remind the viewers of the first episode again ... will they even get to episode 3? lol, they are obviously that clueless into scheduling one of their shows and since it returned (either last week or week before) it doesn't take someone sensible enough to start it from beginning than what seems to be basically randomising the episodes - beats the whole point! I am not 100% on this either but I am sure STV have done the very same thing with that Nick Nairn show and irony of all read info on it and it again speaks about the "Ulster Scots" FFS STV/UTV you two networks have got some odd obsession there (you spoke about them in your other show!), I could understand to a degree but this is ridiculous and seems a bit OTT.

Another thing that annoys me is STV ads from ITV what is it with the dodginess of the ads? There is at times the picture "flickers" (example ad: The Cube) but yet for the Final of BGT not even dodgy at all - can STV just dump the crap and air the ads originally played out by ITV

STV National Weather sponsorship ad: CR Smith - I think STV should have stuck to its original format than give it a "sing a long" that too is an embarassment!

Going to watch Scotland's Murder Mysteries tonight - will be interesting to see if that repeat goes ahead next week or whether the EPG will be different and they do show no. 3 of 8 !

I still wonder why they dropped it in the first place and then out of the blue it "magically" appears

Is it also my imagination but the picture quality on STV SD (choose your region of choice) the picture is bad but when you go on STV HD the picture quality is well what you expect from an HD channel? If this was part of STV's plan for people to go to HD they seem to be forgetting that Glasgow STV is the only one with HD the other regions ain't .... are they hoping that in near future STV news will be coming from Glasgow next I wonder?? (makes a little sense in my mind since now they own Glasgow/Edinburgh and soon to be Aberdeen/Dundee channels which of course at same time simulcast STV Glasgow most of the time anyway (ain't local by defintion! ... still a backdoor STV2/S2!)

Amateurish indeed! And that list of no shows on STV of ITV networked programmes just keeps on growing!

Its alright MrSirs just us the Scottish public will have to wait for the missing shows to air in STV's Autumn/Winter schedules .... or better yet hopefully ITV will air the shows in the afternoon/weekends or quite possibly ITV3 but in any case lets thanks ITV for at least giving the Scottish public a chance to see these missing shows meanwhile STV is taking the p...! I understand too that STV has to make a quota but again lets not get ahead of ourselves - basically how much output does come out of its other areas on the main STV channel? One (news only) the rest of the programming is either made by themselves cheaply or they work with other networks cheaply as well (TV3/UTV) but I guess Nightshift covers the quota if short (yeah a programme that was dwindling down from 7 days to say 3 days a week to then up to 7 days ... it makes you wonder on that one!)

The locals as far as I see they ain't local again apart from news and the odd live show and the rest is archived STV shows - how is it that even local?? I get it if you stay in Glasgow the channel speaks to you but if your in the old Grampian area (or any other part of Scotland) how is it that meant to really convey with us? Tonight on STV Dundee - Taggart really??? I forgot that the rest of us Scots are suddenly Glasweigan by the looks of things or whats next adapt the Weegie accent followed by Gaelic too? Geez criven help me bob!

I have just watched John Sergeant's Barging/Canal series on dvd (rented) and - yes, there is actually a whole episode devoted to a Scottish canal - namely the Caledonian Canal. Sergeant sets sail with the crew and greets and meets various characters in locations along the way. It's a good show/series - and great adverts for the scenery/locations.

Therefore I cannot understand why STV chose NOT to show this series back in February, especially when it featured a Scottish canal. Being a great advert for the country/region it just smacks of narrow mindedness on STV's part. In what way can they justify NOT showing it? Not relevant?

When the national broadcaster fails to screen a networked programme/series which features their country/region it is a pathetic disgrace.

I caught one episode of that programme on ITV (did not feature Scotland) mind you there was also another programme on Channel 4 called Great Canal Journeys that featured the Falkirk Wheel

STV in general seem to care for Scotland but its only for things that suits them .... seems more like since ITV had made a programme in regards of a location in Scotland - STV seem to have little or no interest but yet they could get their finger out their asses and show it now (be weekend or before that Nightshift kicks in), the whole relevance to "Scotland" was basically a smokescreen - remember their opt outs - a cheapo programme from MTV UK, South Park - Comedy Central (Viacom UK), Underbelly in which STV happily named it as a similar background to Glasgow (which of course programme was from Australia), STV are digging holes for themselves, its a channel thats cheap on everything (programming) but will happily announce profits for shareholders and throw money away at the viewers.

The Nightshift on STV HD - a major issue I have with that is when they are show well dated shows, the picture is god awful, I caught a brief episode of a cooking show with that Stephen and the picture quality was alot less to be desired for how does STV get away with this at night? Its a joke, the station is a joke

Said before that Nightshift looks as if the camera lens has been smeared with Vaseline - the picture quality is terrible . Not helped of course by the very dated hairstyles/clothes and guests who are either dead or no longer in the public eye . Not forgetting the fly overs (we're getting air sick of them now ) and of course the people on screen whose details/names are blocked out by the Nightshift messages at the bottom of the screen . Awful - just awful, and utterly shameful for a national broadcaster to put out this turgid drivel night after night.

The Nightshift should not even be on their HD channel - plus when you see the dated clips they are now stretched into the new widescreen format (most channels using these days), you raised another issue I do agree with why is it when they have repeated news bulletins (6 o'clock in particular) they keep the on screen titles during it - surely they can switch it off during this or programmes they feature (its even done on "the hour" repeats that are never off) its more laughable during the programme that it seems that its part time for someone to give "sign language" during it -- have only seen the person on screen a few times but hardly see them on ... hmmm STV being tight on giving sign language on screen or is that another one .... they'll leave ITV to do that for them?

I have also wondered why does STV never highlight a programme that has subtitles or AD? Again ITV does it and BBC as well is this another thing they quitely drop?

Comment:-

STV continues with SCOTLAND'S MURDER MYSTERIES Thursday 9pm, but misses out on Superhospital on ITV - a new 4 part series. Yet another to add to our growing list of programmes shown on ITV but not STV :-

SUPERHOSPITAL (June 2015), WILD EXMOOR, BIG BOX LITTLE BOX, BRITAIN'S BUSIEST AIRPORT - HEATHROW (all May), WILD IRELAND (April), RAINING IN MY HEART (1 off April), POP GOLD (parts 2-7 March), MORE TALES FROM NORTHUMBERLAND (Feb), BARGING ROUND BRITAIN (Feb), SECRETS FROM THE SKY (Nov 2014), HOTEL IN THE CLOUDS (1 off Nov & rptd. ITV3 Feb 2015).

Also not shown:- SCOTLAND'S MURDER MYSTERIES (parts 6-8 March 2015).”

We all know in general MrSirs that STV are causing them a major headache with all this ... but again viewers do come second in STVland as far as they are concerned and "profits" are the answers sadly from the amateurs known as STV (hope everything is OK with you)

Same person who chose Petula Clarks 'Downtown' for Downton Abbey no doubt.

Yes thanks just having a wee break.

Some of them might not be up to much but then I suppose it's down to individual taste - sadly STV aren't giving us the option to decide! 3 stand out for me - More tales From Northumberland (a county right next to...Scotland!), Wild Ireland (whatever happened to the Celtic Connection STV?!) and Barging Round Britain (where 1 entire episode features the Caledonian Canal which is in...err...Scotland!)

If these amateurs weren't so pathetic they would be funny.

No wonder STV has became car crash tv or basically amateur channel - even advertising their so called shows is bad enough - so they do dodgy STV ads (ie use ads from ITV add some dodgy HD effect - which looks terrible to when you see it broadcast on ITV)

I wonder if they get paid for these ideas?

STV Office: ladies/gents we need a song to use for a show called "the lie" any ideas?
aye! Fleetwood Mac! --- (someone shouts in background what about The Proclamers 500 Miles) -- nah we already used them on our Scotland's Greatest Album which flopped never again! (lol)

Northumberland: look at Elaine C Smith's Burdz Eye View - we visit North Berwick - why not have visited Berwick Upon Tweed or is that Borderline England??

Wild Ireland: look at that Nick Nairn cookery show, they have "ulster scots", STV/UTV attempt at "irish/scots" connections through the magic of "cookery" (good god!)

Barging Round Britain: again Channel 4 featured a programme regarding Falkirk Wheel and this is a channel that sometimes advertise Scottish ads and again similar to ITV - seem to have an interest in Scotland but STV basically recycles ideas of other channels and repackages it - STV are lucky that Sky/UKTV repeat Taggart and Animal 999 but it shows you for its output to UK wide TV its appalling, but I wouldn't be at all surprised that people let them away with it (whilst ITV/BBC and other networks get stick for it)

STV North: they are finally apologising on air for problems!! Last week Craig Millar reported outside scene (he was on) Andrea apologise saying having tech issues (5 mins later returned to report) well done FFS!

I think week before it was Norman presenting link went down, basically moved onto next report but never returned to it - I still believe STV North is timed to connect back to STV HQ and its STV ads - STV North/Grampian most definately does not exist and I am seeing it more and more and when these "locals" launched it'll feel more of STV Glasgow and "switching" once more (again it aint local)

Next wednesday STV bring back the late night game show with Win Cash live

Just really what I thought both channels are simulcast (simulcast mainly from STV Glasgow), so I guess i'll know what the future holds out for the "locals" next from STV, also I noted how blocky the STV Edinburgh channel is, does STV actually look at the picture quality of these locals, I was in Glasgow recently and caught both on Sky but to say these channels are "local" is a joke right? How does airing ads such as "funkypigeon" be classed as "local", I took these locals were to be "local" ads etc not ads like GoCompare - forgot its all part of STV's money making machine. As for local programming they really scraped barrels calling a programming Chewen the fat .... surprised BBC Scotland ain't sued for using the closeness of their own show to be made under a guys name

Tonight (Fri 3rd) RAINING IN MY HEART makes an appearance (ITV screened this in April), bizarrely this Saturday (4th) STV show no. 2 of POP GOLD late night, and Monday (6th) there's no show for ITV's new series of Vet School (STV still have BIG AMERICAN FOOD TRIP). So our "no show on STV" list looks like this:-

SUPERHOSPITAL (June 2015), WILD EXMOOR, BIG BOX LITTLE BOX, BRITAIN'S BUSIEST AIRPORT - HEATHROW (all May), WILD IRELAND (April), POP GOLD (parts 3-7 March), MORE TALES FROM NORTHUMBERLAND (Feb), BARGING ROUND BRITAIN (Feb), SECRETS FROM THE SKY (Nov 2014), HOTEL IN THE CLOUDS (1 off Nov & rptd. ITV3 Feb 2015).

Also not shown:- SCOTLAND'S MURDER MYSTERIES (part 8 March 2015).
