Here are the main STV OPT OUTS coming our way Sat. 15th-Fri. 21st:-

POP GOLD screens late night Saturday with ITV showing The Chase (rpt).

No Motorsport on STV Sunday/Monday overnight and MORE TALES FROM NORTHUMBERLAND continues late night Wednesday (5 of 8) - ITV has Tipping Point (rpt). Overnight Wednesday/Thursday again there's no show on STV for Motorsport.

Onto Thursday late night and again this week there's an EDINBURGH FESTIVAL review show (30 mins) while on Friday late night FILM: ALONG CAME POLLY (shown last Friday 14th on ITV) appears and ITV has Film: Beowolf.

The "no show on STV" list looks like:-

SUPERHOSPITAL (June 2015), WILD EXMOOR, BIG BOX LITTLE BOX, BRITAIN'S BUSIEST AIRPORT - HEATHROW (all May), WILD IRELAND (April), MORE TALES FROM NORTHUMBERLAND (parts 6-8 Feb), BARGING ROUND BRITAIN (Feb), SECRETS FROM THE SKY (Nov 2014), HOTEL IN THE CLOUDS (1 off Nov & rptd. ITV3 Feb 2015).

Can I suggest a programme ITV/STV should repeat? I know the theme has been used on ad recently .... so rather than repeat Murder She Wrote to death why not repeat Airwolf for a change?

The 1980s series starring Ernest Borgnine and Jan Michael Vincent? Pity what happened to Vincent - see here.

I remember seeing him in the 1972 film The Mechanic as Charles Bronson's (deadly!) prodigy. That was a great film.

I am just surprised that those that be at ITV or even STV suggesting something different ... I wouldn't mind Airwolf back on screen or even Knight Rider again ... rather than what they seem stuck on is repeating Murder She Wrote ... again why does ITV not dedicate every weekend afternoon to Airwolf/Knight Rider (A Team) also and have an 80's theme its better than crap thats on all the time ... which is basically whats on Saturday is on Sunday - it may bring back some viewers at least (or throw them on ITV3)

Here are the main STV OPT OUTS coming our way Sat. 22nd-Fri. 28th:-

No Motorsport on STV Sunday/Monday overnight, SCOTLAND TONIGHT returns after it's summer break on Monday and surprise surprise because programmes between SCOTLAND TONIGHT and (the awful) WIN CASH LIVE (which kicks in around midnight) are squeezed then yes you guessed it MORE TALES FROM NORTHUMBERLAND disappears from late night Wednesday Wonder if STV inform their viewers if it's returning?! Bizarrely STV slots in a random ADE AT SEA (rpt!!) late night Thursday (11.35pm-12.05am) - why couldn't the first run MORE TALES... have aired there?? On the same Thursday night STV has an EDINBURGH FESTIVAL programme, ITV shows Sports Life Stories.

Onto Friday late night and STV shows the SPORTS LIFE STORIES programme followed by a rpt. of A GREAT WELSH ADVENTURE (3 of 8 ) whilst ITV has FILM: The Boat That Rocked.

Once again another week where STV show their ignorance of viewers and their habit of interrupting series runs.

So now the "no show on STV" list looks like:-

SUPERHOSPITAL (June 2015), WILD EXMOOR, BIG BOX LITTLE BOX, BRITAIN'S BUSIEST AIRPORT - HEATHROW (all May), WILD IRELAND (April), MORE TALES FROM NORTHUMBERLAND (parts 6-8 Feb), BARGING ROUND BRITAIN (Feb), SECRETS FROM THE SKY (Nov 2014), HOTEL IN THE CLOUDS (1 off Nov & rptd. ITV3 Feb 2015).

I find it more bizarre that STV are that much in a rush to shut up shop after midnight ... your right and i'll agree on is why not continue to air More Tales as normal? But I'll hazard a guess if the programme started at 11.40pm it wouldn't finish till 12.40am (12.35am) but they need Win Cash Live on ASAP just before Nightscreen is on later ... STV is really about making money than anything else sadly , the irony of it all is STV is too damn lazy to even air a film only when it suits them (and presuming ITV says yes to join in)

STV enjoy the fun of interrupting shows --- it took them ages to finally complete Cornwall with Caroline Quentin, yet its on ITV3 at the moment uninterrupted - I am sure STV has an hidden agenda with ITV even though it all looks sugar coated but then again STV are now an affilate of ITV so I guess really the bosses at STV can please themselves what can be shown or interrupted these days ... bosses must be rolling in the money on the Quay at Glasgow whilst having the enjoyment of catching up on whats NOT airing on STV with their sky/VM boxes (the irony of all things STV really)

Just to clarify they can't even use that as an excuse, as MORE TALES... is the same duration (30 mins) as ADE AT SEA - so they could have put MORE TALES... in that slot and the programme would have finished at 12.05/12.10am - just in time for their precious WIN CASH LIVE

So in other words STV are giving up really after Scotland Tonight as priority is getting to midnight for Win Cash Live but lets remember STV don't return to air about 0505 for Jezza then 'off' during GMB then back from 0925.

STV is a joke now, I wonder if STV viewers will have to wait till 2016 on missed shows

In relation to films since when did STV give up on that? The only channel that hardly shows films compared to BBC CH4/5

Maybe THE BOAT THAT ROCKED film will surface (pun intended) next Friday on STV, as per the usual "running behind" ITV - though I believe PUBLIC ENEMIES film never did see the light of day on STV (despite being premiered and shown again on ITV)

Public Enemies has never aired on STV I think it aired on either BBC CH4 or 5 its like the other film 'inglorious b...ds' that aired on 5 after ITV aired it.

One is to assume STV can't even afford films either lol ... STV must be one of the cheapest channels going with a whopper amount in profit ... Someone needs to explain that one!

From recollection it premiered on the ITV network (except of course by our dear pals in Glasgow ), from there it was shown again on ITV and then ITV4, then back on ITV. Despite all that STV ignored it - just like all those other missed shows (listed earlier) and dear knows what else over the years - shameful

STV e'mail me last week saying they have no plans to broadcast other itv channel promos such as itv 2 etc

Hi Gavin
Thanks for your email to STV.
You are indeed correct, STV is part of the channel 3 network, however we are also an independent company. Although we have a direct relationship with ITV and will jointly promote programmes that are on the channel 3 network, this does not extend to their digital channels such as ITV2/3/4 etc.
Therefore we do not broadcast promotions for any of the programmes on these channels.
We are always interested in hearing from our viewers and thank you for taking the time to get in touch.
Kind Regards

Humm they actually repeated a programme from ITV2 recently called "plebs" (whilst I understand ITV was airing it at same time)

STV are an "independent company" really? I didn't know that (being sarcastic at STV) and may I ask you (STV) what programmes you have made for the Scottish public/UK public recently? Do you care to actually spend money on making half decent programming than plead "poverty" on crap shows?

"We are always interested in hearing from our viewers and thank you for taking the time to get in touch." - I wonder if they do either read these forums or care but I wonder if they listen to what viewers are saying outwith their catchment ie STV North News (that be a start)

What I got to laugh at is STV seem to air films without issue at guess what time of the year?? Oh its friggin Christmas!!

I take it the rest of the year STV don't have time for films let alone missed shows (as listed) yet as I say if this was ITV hell would break loose. What I also got to laugh at is at least BBC Scotland at least airs "holby city" the next night late (but it still is aired) meanwhile STV blantly miss the shows until they are ready and then play shuffle with them. I took it as my understanding when Grampian went under STV - the now channel STV would keep things as best as possible (if we want to say close to ITV as possible but include the opt outs (debatable also)), these days its basically a channel that is completely lost its way - profits are far more important than the viewers let alone getting the programming finished in time - but now I can see why they chose to "affilate" with ITV as really its more of them stepping back and are able to please themselves but I can't see OFCOM stepping in as they would say they are "independent" and can do what they want yet weird that this very company misses shows and hardly deals with issues in the Grampian area so whats the point exactly?

itv plc does not let STV show itv branded promos during STV airtime because itv don't own STV but itvplc should let STV show itv 2 promos etc on their channel and i don't work for STV

I was not having a go at you Gavin, I was just pointing out their response to you ... They say STV don't show ITV branded promos ... we knew that, STV just hash it up with their dodgy HD take on it. I was just pointing out that STV have just repeated Plebs that was on ITV2 (due to the fact ITV were the ones repeating it), but then again I think Celeb Juice got an airing at one point on STV (not at same time as ITV)

oh ok STV did said they only show stv promos for programmes that will be shown on channel 3 itv only so it looks like stv won't show itv 2 branded promos etc anytime soon

I doubt STV even did any promos for Plebs or Celeb Juice when they aired on STV - but I am aware that these shows are mostly on ITV2 than the main ITV/STV.

STV have never promoted any ITV programming from ITV2/3/4 or Be but they do bump the promos from ITV (pending on their choosing), but what I was trying to say was that STV has had on the channel recently are some ITV2 shows on there (late)

It is ok for STV to show itv 2 shows which is been or now shown on itv. But STV has rule out showing itv2 3 4 and Be etc promos on stv. i think people that have freeview will be cross with stv for not broadcasting itv2 branded promo's etc because people might be saying where itv when they have only itv2 3 4 be and citv i hope you know what i mean

I think its a new thing ITV/STV are doing with ITV2 shows. The promos of ITV2 etc has never happened but if you look at STV they heavily promote STV Glasgow and their player.

I have freeview as well as cable it does not annoy me that STV don't promote the other ITV channels as with common sense you see the ITV channels promote one another however its different when we see an ad for ITV on say ITV3 and us in Scotland don't see it as STV is playing 'duck duck goose' with its viewers.

STV will advertise certain ITV shows but say programmes they have on late ie More Tales from Northumberland they hardly promote let alone shuffle about. They seem more happy randomising programmes, stopping them but happy to close just after 12am. Meanwhile other channels such as Pick, challenge, channel 4 run during the night meanwhile this lot give up

Why on earth would STV promote shows on a competing channel? You may as well ask Channel 5 why they aren't showing trailers for Strictly Come Dancing. Or ask why ITV London aren't running promos for STV Glasgow.

Main STV OPT OUTS for Sat. 29th Aug-Fri. 4th Sept:-

Prepare to read about another AMATEUR ERROR on STV this week!

Saturday late night sees STV air FILM: HARD TARGET while ITV has Film: The Bourne Ultimatum (but wait for this stupid piece of scheduling on yes you guessed it STV's part...).

No Motorsport/motorcycling again on STV Sunday/Monday overnight, and STV misses another new series primetime Monday night - it's Britain As Seen On ITV (1 of 6) - STV shows an episode of ANIMAL 999, whilst later on Monday night STV air FILM: THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM (yes the one that was on ITV on Saturday night) and ITV has Plebs/River Monsters. If that movie scheduling doesn't sound daft enough it's even worse when you realise ITV2 is screening The Bourne Identity from 9.00-11.25pm, thus clashing with STV's Bourne offering!!!! STV YOU ARE TOTAL AMATEURS Why is THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM not sensibly being screened on Saturday (as per ITV) so as to avoid any clash on the Monday?! Oh wait a minute - WIN CASH LIVE has to kick in at 12.30am so tough luck viewers THE BOURNE ULTIMATUM would mean WIN CASH LIVE wouldn't start until 12.45am!

Still no sign of the dropped MORE TALES FROM NORTHUMBERLAND (despite another ADE AT SEA repeat), nor a first run of the repeated Wild Ireland on ITV (Wednesday night). Benidorm repeats are dropped this week too, and there's no show for the late Friday film on ITV - The Fast And The Furious.

So another shambles of a week where STV screw up their movie scheduling, fail to show another ITV networked primetime new show and a repeat of another (Wild Ireland), drop reruns and well... these are the amateur decisions we know about...

The "no show on STV" list looks like:-

BRITAIN: AS SEEN ON ITV (1 of 6, August 2015) - unlikely ever to be seen on STV well because of it's title!

SUPERHOSPITAL (June 2015) - despite the NHS always being a topic for discussion/debate STV decide it's "not relevant to Scotland".

WILD EXMOOR, BIG BOX LITTLE BOX, BRITAIN'S BUSIEST AIRPORT - HEATHROW (all May) - bit of a mixed bag here, but any one of those shows could be squeezed in somewhere late night - oh but wait, what about our Cash programmes?!

WILD IRELAND (April) - already getting a rerun on ITV this would be an ideal show to be screened in Scotland, especially with the connection the 2 countries have. Baffling in it's absence!

MORE TALES FROM NORTHUMBERLAND (parts 6-8 Feb) - already disappeared off STV half way through it's run, with no explanation. Scotland's national broadcaster strikes again...

BARGING ROUND BRITAIN (Feb) - despite it showing The Caledonian Canal for one of it's episodes it must still be "not relevant to Scotland". Disgraceful.

SECRETS FROM THE SKY (Nov 2014), HOTEL IN THE CLOUDS (1 off Nov & rptd. ITV3 Feb 2015) - another 2 "miscellaneous", but surely worth a view?

According to the Freeview EPG WIN CASH LIVE has been replaced by THE NIGHTSHIFT until at least next Friday (4th). Also noticed that THE NIGHTSHIFT was being screened last night (Thur. 27th).

STV is actually now the last region left has hasn't being bought by ITV, Time will tell or the Scottish Parliament will put a stop to a ITV takeover if they tried.
