Nothing either but I will expect they will plug it in their STV News (rolls eyes)

You should be glad your not living in TSW back in the day. there dropped a number of ITV shows and never broadcast others. Also moved the teatime repeat of H&W to 15.27

However blooper on news at 1.55pm Rachel Stewart reporting LIVE John McKay is quickly cut off (STV HD), I presume under my area this would have flowed without issue - so does these separate areas actually talk to each other or what? (seems like they can't do timings)

Its the lack of information given to viewers if the programme is dropped and to be aired later in year or not bothered to continue. Seems more like at times that STV wants its viewers to go to ITV instead than stick to the channel.

Why does STV not make MrSirs list available on their player instead if they are not showing it?

I can stand STV for so long but I rather watch ITV in general as if your following Countrywise its completed in full on ITV but STV its shambles - surprised advertisers ain't fled

We tend to forget that this OPT OUT carry on is not a relatively recent thing! Like you I can well remember all sorts of weird and wonderful (?!) programmes popping up all over the STV schedule - primetime, late night, daytime... I guess we need to put it into perspective now, particularly since the last couple of years (after the Downton/ITV clash fiasco etc..) it is (to be fair to STV) mainly (as we can see by that OPT OUT list) non-major programmes that are missed.

Still, so long as there are OPT OUTS and STV continue their irritating habit of starting and dropping/moving series etc... (which as you allude to and I agree is nothing new anyway) I will continue to at least do these mini posts looking at the week ahead.

Edit to add: Kezo just read your post - yes at least STV should make these missing programmes available on their site/player. I would still like to find out from them why programmes containing Scottish content or a relevance to Scotland are not being transmitted.

I am more surprised STV cries wolf on all things Scotland yet ITV has shows featuring parts be from sports or other programmes STV jumps ship, yet it was not long ago CHANNEL 4 programme Canal Journeys even featured the Falkirk Wheel, the irony of all things STV, but again ITV nor Channel 4 get the credit they deserve for doing features on Scotland.

Some of the best opt out were big dramas being broadcast weeks after the network, Thingummyjig appear on Peak time replacing dramas and US series. Its replacement went out on Friday night https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zd78TsqDeik

A series of the Granada made Connection was never broadcast in 1988. Here is a gem Most Sunday morning Worships were never broadcast in STV instead being replace by Sesame Street. On one xmas day in 1983 it was replace by Glen Michael.

Emmerdale Farm used to go out at 17.10 for most of the 80s and 90s. STV dropped many series of Talking telephone numbers and Micheal Barrymore my kind of music. I also remember back in 2001. 8pm slot had gaelic shows on instead of Wish you were here or House of horror.

Yes I can remember that being shown on a Friday night - what was it 7.30-8.30pm if I remember correctly. It was dreadful.

A little bit too quiet if you ask me - still surprised that it is 2016 and none of these shows listed have not appeared (may as well say Big Box Little Box will be dated now), the rest they could air (yet the one off documentary Hotel In The Clouds could be aired but I ain't holding out hope with this lot!)

Quite possibly more programming being missed or shafted til after Scotland Tonight then "after midnight" - rinse and repeat, come to think about does these debates also meet their "regional" quota also?

Back in the day I remember the Sharon Gless series "The Trials Of Rosie O'Neil. It was on Fridays at 9pm but LWT dropped it after a handful of episodes. I saw the resty of it by getting VHS copies from a mate who lived in the Meridian area. Not sure if LWT/London ITV ever showed it in full.

As per last year: low budget features programmes used as schedule fillers by itv plc in their own schedules.
Time was when programmes about Northumberland/Cornwall were shown in peak hours on Tyne Tees/ Westward only and only got a network showing in the About Britain slot at 11.30am during the school holidays!

Funny that STV own programming that is used for opt outs are pretty much low budget too, but comparing picture quality at least ITV seem to invest in proper cameras meanwhile STV use what looks like camcorders with built in HD!

Northumberland/Cornwall programmes - irony of all is that STV still cannot complete any of these series in ONE its all shambles so how is the STV viewer with Freeview exactly meant to follow these shows in the 8pm slot?

As for the School Holiday schedule ITV stays pretty much the same it depends on controllers at STV - I noted though when Murder She Wrote was on STV opted out for their "own" local programming from STV Glasgow/Edinburgh franchise. STV in short do as they please but hardly listen to viewers but that could be the same for ITV but I would rather stick to ITV compared to that of a shambolic opt out system STV use

STV OPT OUTS for Sat. 23rd Jan.-Fri 29th Jan:-

No OPT OUTS this week in primetime however there are 2 main OPT OUTS late night:-

Monday sees no repeat on STV for JONATHAN ROSS (screening SCOTLAND TONIGHT) whilst on Friday STV screens FILM: QUANTUM OF SOLACE instead of the ITV Film: On Her Majesty's Secret Service. Thus STV doesn't follow ITV's sensible Friday night chronological order of the James Bond films and jumps out of sync 40 years ahead.

Only a few weeks into the New Year and already STV start their silly games again!

No change then to the "no show on STV" list (original screening month on ITV as stated):-

BRITAIN: AS SEEN ON ITV (Aug 2015), SUPERHOSPITAL (June), WILD EXMOOR, BIG BOX LITTLE BOX, BRITAIN'S BUSIEST AIRPORT - HEATHROW (all May), WILD IRELAND (April & rptd. Odd for STV not to screen Jonathan Ross +30 mins behind as I am aware they do repeat it.

As for The James Bond films/sequence - don't watch Bond but I do wish they drop in their ad for the Bond Films drop "Scottish" - Sean Connery being the only "Scottish" the rest being "English" but of course STV forget this and oversee it! As for the sequence though STV must have a reason not to follow the ITV sequence I wonder if the film is "too long" to air?

As for the new year start I still see STV News on screen info is STILL not updated since the change before Christmas, yet if this was the BBC hell would break loose, The Daily Mail be having a ball at it! Is STV that lazy to update onscreen info for its news? (they announce it and there has been a few times near slip ups!)

STV 2016: Same thing as 2015 .... look out for programming on ITV, they will play cat and mouse with selected shows as well as shaft them around the schedule with little announcement, yep its our STV and its getting worse!

But expect this lot to close for their late night programming called "after midnight" not long after 12am!

STV OPT OUTS for Sat. 6th-Fri 12th Feb:-

So it was a quiet January for STV in terms of major/primetime OPT OUTS. February so far is shaping up that way too as once again this week there are no OPT OUTS in primetime. But it looks as if STV have abandoned the Monday late night repeat screening of JONATHAN ROSS as the programme fails to show up in the STV schedule. Instead STV viewers are treated to a repeat of THE CHASE.

Through the night on STV sees a change as the regular AFTER MIDNIGHT is pushed back to around 2am with HOME SHOPPING appearing for around 2 hours every night from about midnight. The line up for through the night now looks something like this (all week):-

(Approximate times) - 12.10am Home Shopping, 2.15 After Midnight, 4.30 Nightscreen, 5am Jeremy Kyle.

The "no show on STV" list (original screening month on ITV as stated):-

BRITAIN: AS SEEN ON ITV (Aug 2015), SUPERHOSPITAL (June), WILD EXMOOR, BIG BOX LITTLE BOX, BRITAIN'S BUSIEST AIRPORT - HEATHROW (all May), WILD IRELAND (April & rptd.
