Find it awkward when you have a programme like Loose Women speak about "Further Tales" on ITV at that time but nothing is said sadly towards the STV viewers (yet surprised STV made no announcement at end of programme) (rolls eyes) - its these sort of shows also that STV can air later but just choose not too whilst at same time they are doing their own opt outs, just baffles me - its like half the time they will do it then other times seems like can't be bothered with it (but as previously mentioned the STV HQ has the ITV feed anyway so who's in charge will see it whilst the STV viewer sees none of it? UPDATE: ITV3 - Britains busiest airport aired on there couple weeks ago (another programme STV has never aired but ITV once again has repeated it on ITV3 but would be a first for STV viewers with Freeview to see it), and again nearly a year later! or where STV is making it a loss on any missed shows seems like your more likely to see it Youtube! ... Well done STV! This lot really have no clue! |

how the heck did they not spot that? I could see them altering it with correct time - obviously at times "mistakes" happen - STV are just slow with these things, yet for a programme like Grantchester they have the info from ITV - they use ITV's trailers so how this mistake happened is beyond me

STV OPT OUTS for Sat. 12th-Fri 18th March:-
After an absence of several months (and originally screened on ITV a year ago) MORE TALES FROM NORTHUMBERLAND returns to STV to complete (???) it's run (6 of 8) Sunday lunchtime! ![]() STOPPING SCOTLAND'S SCAMMERS (3 of 3) appears Monday 8pm, ITV has Further Tales From Northumberland. Late night OPT OUTS include DOUBLE DECKER DRIVING SCHOOL (Mon, ITV has Jonathan Ross), HOME SHOPPING Tue/Wed/Thur (ITV has Davina McCall/Bear Gryllis/ Speeding Wars). (Highlighted) - this is what I don't get why have something like that restart after an absence to start from episode 6? They may as well repeat the run or just give up with it? Suspicions are I would not be at all surprised if viewers of STV have caught Robson Green recently on Loose Women speaking about programme and people have questioned where it is? Again if STV is showing something like this then stick to running it from episode 1-8 than stop somewhere to then disappear? Even though I am not a permanent watcher of Scotland Tonight but can STV make Colin McKay permanent on there - I prefer him presenting this to actually reporting from Holyrood, better than that airhead Rhona (watched it Monday night and to give him credit he got stuck in there to one of the SNP MP's), on this it did make a change than the usual John "yes" man McKay on it

Someone spotted another mistake recently but I forget what it was. Sounds like anyone could use ISIS vids and Brazzers pron clips for a Coronation Street trailer and it would transmit on STV.

Stv News App Ad
So did anyone catch the new ad for their news app - I initally took it was an ad for a new drama from STV - very disappointed it was a big ho ha with all the "stars" from STV North to STV Glasgow, how much did they spend on this ad for an app? Surely they should have spent money on getting programming for the ITV Network and viewers of STV as a priority than an ad for app for Apple

To be fair, it looked well produced and almost like a relaunch rather than for an app. Almost made the channel look professional.
Pity if this is all about a relaunch then why is this channel so cheap with everything? If they can produce a good ad for STV News then why do they not do this across the board ie trailers from ITV etc than make it look cheap and tacky? |

Late night OPT OUTS include DOUBLE DECKER DRIVING SCHOOL Mon (ITV has Jonathan Ross), HOME SHOPPING Tue (ITV has Davina McCall), THE CHASE Wed (ITV has Bear Gryllis & Richard Wilson On The Road) & HOME SHOPPING Thur (ITV has Murder She Wrote). So the "no show on STV" list (original screening month on ITV as stated) now looks like this:- FURTHER TALES FROM NORTHUMBERLAND (Feb 2016), BRITAIN: AS SEEN ON ITV (Aug 2015), SUPERHOSPITAL (June), WILD EXMOOR, BIG BOX LITTLE BOX, BRITAIN'S BUSIEST AIRPORT - HEATHROW (all May), WILD IRELAND (April & rptd. As for footy with Scotland Debates be a laugh if footy over runs but then again I could see them airing Scottish Passport Shorts or Scotland from above OR let them banter on... |

Seen their advert a few times and it's all rather samey and uneventful. Doesn't do or say a whole lot. Filmed in a big house. But in reality their studio is no bigger than someone's bathroom.
I mean, how OTT is the Raman segment compared to the actual sports news they offer?! You watch the ad and think "what's all this crap then?" when they're only ever at someone's training ground with no one else around. "Everyone you know and love"... they're news presenters for goodness sake! They can claim to be "The home of Scottish news" but BBC Scotland is the most watched. So that's that. Who's the one making a fancy advert after all? With BBC Scotland rumoured to be putting out an enhanced news service; you can understand why STV rolled out this ad. |

The thing I found was it included 2 presenters from STV North - Tyrone (STV Sport North) and Susan Nicholson (technically speaking does STV News Dundee, yeah the 5 min local waste of time in my book! The odd reporting), but I did see Sean, Rhona, John featured heavily (Raman once), why no feature from the STV Edinburgh crew? I prefer Reporting Scotland to STV News - since most of the time I am use to STV News in our area go down in flames with faults and wrong autocues its no wonder its a laugh - STV may as well be honest with us, just close all the "local" news and put under one umbrella coming from Glasgow (we already see it on STV North its either a rush to get bulletins out of way OR finish early and have ran out of news )I also noted since app launch they no longer say their new web address news.stv.tv as again still highlights stv.tv/news |
