So much for a separate Scottish output last night, we had to put up with English football

I think most people would rather have had that than what they use to do was run films or crap programming, if the football over-ran STV would hit panic mode, but in regards to English Football, you don't see STV putting money forward to bid for Scottish football (any league of choosing really) if they wanted to use that as opt out, as they probably could get away with it and have any missed programmes following suit? I am no football fan, so I don't know the ins and outs of these things

STV are not showing England v Holland live tomorrow. Scottish Leaders debate in the run up to the Holyrood Election on instead. Yawn.

I ain't watching it either - borefest turn "who can shout loudest" contest .... it'll probably continue with Scotland Tonight also, but again this will fall part of their regional quota anyway

So STV are wrong for not showing ITV programmes....then they're wrong for showing ITV programmes. Jeez, what do you want? STV is an INDEPENDENT channel (what the I in ITV originally stood for). Get used to it!

well for a start they do very in little in decent programmming do they? Technically STV are now an "affilate" of the ITV Network so I presume they are not in "direct" contract as before ITV fiasco, the point being and still is the shambles of some shows - why air them in first place if your not committed? I wouldn't mind STV actually making half decent programming to ITV/UKTV/SKY etc that is at least worth watching but all they have done has made programming on the cheap? ITV announce profits, takes chances has an array of channels, yet STV can't do it? But have locals running in their network - for a channel that was pretty much on the ball to what it is now surely it should be questioned as to what is their purpose? They pretty much destroyed the old Grampian in one swoop and its by chance in their new STV News app, it seems STV North has a bit of representation! It took STV that long to remember us? Tech gaffes etc they hardly gave a toss but of course STV is a great channel isn't it? I see other channels out there speak more about Scotland than STV does (the irony of it all)

ITV makes programming worth watching (most of the time) - what does STV actually make worth watching that does not make it look cheap? STV are lucky enough that ITV gave them catchphrase to do but other than that the channel is pretty much redundant in programming making, apart from programming coming from a studio based in Glasgow (or programming made locally from STV Glasgow/Edinburgh), yes thats something to really shout about!

I was reading some comments on their facebook page and it pretty much sums up ... STV with their scheduling of shows, people are not happy with it in general (mind you most people complain its an "English" channel aka ITV, funny that at least the opt outs were intact and you still got the original ITV shows without issue (apart from region variations), STV just messes up the programmes completely and as you rightly state where is the final part of Tales from Northumberland-onto the John Sergent programme - if STV completes Barging Around in 8 weeks its a miracle! I can't see it being honest STV will throw something else on and forget about it then return to it later - laughable as well if you "series link" it for STV, I think STV ain't doing themselves any good at all with this - say it again why commit to programmes to then shuffle/drop/return (without announcement either) its pointless, viewers may as well just watch ITV full time and just STV for news, if they can't sort out the opt outs/missing shows properly! (missing shows can still be aired if they dropped teleshopping/after midnight - carried onto STV Player if they can be that bothered)

As regarding Jonathan Ross show they aired his show late on Monday night this week (repeat), so they put it on this week (since its Easter) and choose to go back to previous scheduling (or repeat something else instead in its place), STV do yourselves a favour, sack the scheduler and get someone who has brains at your channel for god sake! -- STV should be called "the channel of confusion"

Jak and Eddie's Kitchen - had to laugh at someones comment I read, (again never watched it) but supposedly Eddie was making a round chocolate tart) a viewer had written in saying "tell Eddie they are no corners around a chocolate tart.....with .... Such an amateurish programme won't be watching again", so if its not just us on DS that seeing this then why is STV not even taking on board comments from viewers be Facebook/Twitter etc if they are bad? Surely you take these comments onboard and improve on them than just sweep it under the carpet and give yourselves a "like" - also on the page there is a few comments also ie regarding news in North East (STV North) sound issues etc. So its clear viewers are telling them but STV are ignoring them (quite like the time I contacted MTV - just ignored my email and yet it was all about a revamp)

Football Highlights - England friendly, I know the debate was on last night but whats the point in showing a highlights show of the match that STV did not air? They may as well stuck on "The Chase" than that? I find it baffling at times with something like this, they did this with Motorsport once if I remember - they aired a few then dropped it - Knockhill is highlighted but STV clearly avoids it.

The other one (as you'll see) is WILD EXMOOR (next week late night) - what's the chances it completing it's (short) 4 part run?

The whole thing's a shambles.

This is what I mean and you have also said time and time again - is why run a 4 part 8 part series from ITV (might be a cheap programme) at 8pm but surely common sense tells you just air it same night after Scotland Tonight (they use to do that with some), but I just don't get the whole stop/start thing its ridiculous! If this was ITV doing that to one of their own shows hell would break loose - viewers would complain and I bet ITV would apologise and air it as in regards to STV, why air something to a point drop it for a month or so then to air it from another episode? Its like saying air episode 1 (January) expect episode 2 (to either turn up in February or March) - just say this was a 4 part documentary (ITV aired it once a week - completes it run) meanwhile STV is that far behind to get the documentary completed. I know what option I would choose and that would be follow ITV than STV (again STV are losing viewers with certain shows do they not see this or is it the blind leading the blind at STV?) , The other thing about it all is those in charge are able to see ITV in Glasgow (so if we ain't getting they are - and of course they too will have access at home to Sky/Cable), there is no need in this stupidity and clumsiness at STV with any programming be their own or ITV, but for our own opt outs is laughable - most of the time I would rather have ITV full stop if I had too than STV

This coming Sunday once again we have JAK & EDDIE'S SCOTTISH KITCHEN (rpt) then BARGING ROUND BRITAIN WITH JOHN SERGEANT. What's On TV magazine lists BARGING ROUND BRITAIN as "5 of 8" - not sure then if this is accurate or a mistake. If correct then it would mean either STV has shown the other 1-4 parts (part 4 last week?) at some point at short notice in the schedule in the last year or decided to start at part 4 last week. Interestingly a new series (series 2) of BARGING arrives on ITV at the end of this month! So desperate STV are playing catch up a la Downton Abbey!

I doubt STV aired the other 4 episodes but then again this is STV now on "catch up" mode again since series 2 is to air (as you mentioned), if so the rush for getting this over with why no rush in starting Further Tales? Once again STV proves to themselves that regardless of programming be their own (which at times completes its run) or using an ITV programme (which most of the time hardly starts or finishes) that no one at STV has no idea on how to schedule programmes other than play "catch up" or its the shuffle with programmes.

Film: Along Came Polly +1 day later ... STV is running films again at night again? I took it they were more for running repeat of repeats of shows (hardly air anything new at night especially 11pm other than as listed above then Teleshopping then After Midnight...)

Wild Exmoor - this is another example of what is the point being committed to a programme to drop it and to then later appear, again if your series linked this on Sky/VM and quite possibly Freeview, your taking a guess of when its next to appear but of course if your able to follow the shows on ITV your recordings would be done with little hassle - Seems more like STV are not capable to complete shows (be the cheap ones from ITV) but to do this time and time again is getting tedious now - how do they get away with it baffles me?


Oh look - Friday Night 9pm - The Flying Scotsman with Robson Green ... (which I presumed is linked with ITV at same time), we get a programme about "The Flying Scotsman" I presume its by chance this meets the STV criteria of its "relevance to Scotland" but we still have to wait on STV getting his other show More Tales from Northumberland to air.

I really don't see that much point them airing Motorsport if it seems they can't follow it with ITV (noticed there was some sport on Tuesday night) but then again its rare you see anything different on STV other than football. I noted Animal 999 is a new series (I wonder if ITV will air it later in year and we will see STV jump midway - it has been done!)


STV and the films - is it just me but some of their films is either a now a +1 day or +1 week thing?, yet it really could air if its 2235 (2305 after Scotland Tonight) on ITV and drop the Teleshopping charade, but of course it seems according to STV the viewers fall asleep after 12am and for programming we have Teleshopping and After Midnight which is on about 0205, Nightscreen then service resumes for Jezza - The controllers at STV must live exciting lives if this is what they are happy to provide for their viewers and shareholders - lets give them an applause on a job well done (its shameful), whilst we have C4/Sky at least airing shows (Pick/Challenge on Freeview)

Exactly! Don't see what the problem is doing that, and it would stop all this nonsense of playing catch up on films too - just air it the same night. Too simple for STV, and as you say they can't encroach on the precious (money making) Teleshopping.

Its exactly the same with the missed ITV shows they know they can air them after Scotland Tonight but they can't be bothered (if the audience does not exist say after 11pm, maybe its time to call it a day STV?), Why is Teleshopping so important these days on these commercial channels? May bring in some income but really? If you look at the MTV channels ie VIVA to VH1 (go to the MTV UK site), their channels are full of it from 3am-9am (varies by channel), yet was a channel that ran 24/7 as for STV's case it was coming but was more surprised they done it but again income is important to them sorry profits for its shareholders.

The time STV has lets say from 2305-0600 (0500 - for Jezza just say) why can they not provide programming? Look at Pick (programmes shown may not be the best at during the night BUT its programming than teleshopping) so why is STV waving a white flag after midnight baffles me compared to the heyday of the 90's where the was at least some programming during the night

Also you forgot to include Sky News as well, so yes this election is overkill but come EU referendum it will be in overkill mode but I do wonder if STV will have an "EU" special or will they choose to opt out from ITV that night (if they are doing coverage) and STV viewers will be catered to repeats and the same as every other night
