STV OPT OUTS for Sat. 2nd-Fri 8th Jul:-

On Sunday afternoon STV continues with JAK & EDDIE'S SCOTTISH KITCHEN (ITV shows Off Their Rockers) and through the night Motorsport is on ITV but not STV.

On Monday primetime STV opts for a medical boat documentary whilst ITV screens a new series of Wild France With Ray Mears (1 of 6). Whatever happened to the Auld Alliance STV

Friday primetime sees STV air a new series of ANIMAL 99 (ITV has a rpt. of Gino's Italian Escape).

Late night OPT OUTS this week include TELESHOPPING Mon & Tue (ITV has In Plain Sight), Wed (ITV has Goodwood Festival Of Speed), Thur (ITV has Murder She Wrote) & Fri (ITV has Gambling).

So the "no show on STV" list (original screening month on ITV as stated) expands again and now looks like this:-

2016:-
WILD FRANCE WITH RAY MEARS (Parts 1-6, July)
BARGING ROUND BRITAIN (Series 2, parts 1-6 Apr)
FURTHER TALES FROM NORTHUMBERLAND (Series 3, parts 1-8, Feb)

2015:-
BRITAIN: AS SEEN ON ITV (Aug)
SUPERHOSPITAL (June)
WILD EXMOOR (parts 3 & 4), BIG BOX LITTLE BOX (parts 3-6) & BRITAIN'S BUSIEST AIRPORT - HEATHROW (series 1, parts 1-3) (all May)
WILD IRELAND (April)
MORE TALES FROM NORTHUMBERLAND (Series 2, part 8, Feb)

2014:-

Hardly surprising with STV these days being honest - the channel is really a pick n mix with a shuffle inbetween!

I noted last nights STV NEWS came from Glasgow (even though in break of The Chase we had an STV North newsreader telling us what was happening), unsure if it did reconnect back to Aberdeen or we had Glasgow instead - they may as well just put on Glasgow news!

Homeless Cup - is it a highlight show or what? As far as I seen the ad it was only on STV Glasgow and pretty sure STV are not doing themselves favours by airing this on the main channel since I ain't seen any coverage of it (unless its been on STV News at 6 but not shown in STV North?)

Yes it's a highlights show. It's on STV's main channel tomorrow night at 11.10pm so the Sunday showing is a repeat.

Thought that, airing it twice in one week, yet they can't do it with ITV factual shows

Quite possibly can't be assed but if any aired it will be shuffled and dropped without a trace - the STV approach

Might be because they don't give a hoot about their audience, and pull down the Teleshopping shutters at midnight.

Spot on - a catalogue of that over the years.

I seen the ad earlier - well done 2310! Most of its been shown on STV Glasgow maybe Edinburgh? Let me guess it'll pop up next year on STV Dundee/Ayr/Aberdeen (oh look its a backdoor STV2!)

Programme repeats - oh STV is well known for that if its an opt out and needs repeated they can do it but if its an ITV show its more of lets repeat what we had last year or repeat something else!

You just need to look already ITV done them a favour of repeating Big Box Little Box just after 1 episode STV mysteriously drops it - will we see it? Or the best example More Tales from Northumberland or Ireland - STV shows the series or plays catch up goes so far then drop it (again without telling the viewer when its next on!), as mentioned before and will repeat again - do you honestly believe those that run STV have Freeview ONLY in their homes? I doubt it ... they will have Virgin/Sky and able to catch up on the opt out shows (or possibly watch the ITV feed for nothing to give us their crap!)

I also have to agree and laugh with the silliness of after 12am with STV - its shut up shop and have teleshopping/after midnight on .... why not run shows missed to catch up (it may not get the viewers but they can WATCH IT ON STV PLAYER - yes the ad they harp on about on missed shows but again STV missing a trick here but of course don't let that spoil the fun - STV does have potential on using that slot but they choose not too but I guess lining their shareholders pockets is more important than the dedicated viewer - no wonder people will watch ITV instead than STV)

ITV are repeating Big Box Little Box on Saturday lunchtimes with STV showing it too (1st run). They have shown the 1st 5 episodes in tandem with ITV, only 1 remaining.

I understand the comments.
But looking at ITV in England, and BBC it is all same everywhere.
Remember when ITV used to show regional shows, opt out of network to show history, lifestyle in the region.
Thank goodness STV still cling to an identity, a shame the suits in London have forgot this. Easier to produce more soaps, and moan that BBC steal all the viewers.

Depends on how you define "identity", I was part of the old Grampian area which is now STV North - and on the odd occasion (recently) ie Brexit, my news has partly came from Glasgow than Aberdeen, saying that though this is the only time us in the North/North East have something than it coming from Glasgow - but by default its Glasgow feed with inserted ads for STV North.

STV are no better than ITV if I am honest - its cheap opt outs but some ITV shows (or buy them drop them without trace), yet if ITV are showing their promos in programmes ie Loose Women and STV is not showing it, is well out of place in my mind (again there should be on screen announcements made at least) - again ITV are bad on this if an area is not showing it (STV are just bad at not making announcements on anything its like they expect the viewer to hazard a guess of next appearance)

STV is just ITV with different decoration. Tonight at 9pm is "1966 - A Nation Remembers". Is it a special Scottish version or something?

The "Home of Scottish News". They had to cancel Scotland Tonight at the last moment due to extra-time in a Euro 2016 game. Couldn't even put it on after the game. Seemingly very little control over what they can do.

They should consider selling the TV arm to ITV. The STV brand has little local value. Add it to Woolworths, etc. Couldn't say I'd miss it.

I did wonder if with the petty-mindedness of some Scots whether they might dig out an ancient repeat of a programme to show instead of it, surely they can find a forty year old Taggart episode to show?

They already do air the old Taggart eps, its on STV Glasgow, Edinburgh and quite possibly on their new locals shortly Aberdeen, Ayr and Dundee!

God no! Don't give them suggestions - they repeated to death Scottish Passport shorts their version of Scotland from Above plus many more for the sake of 10 mins! (how they got away with it beats me!)

I would call STV more like Weegie TV, since the voiceovers mostly come from Glasgow and STV North has hardly input other than news which most of the time they may as well just give to Glasgow - STV North is dying, I still find the Dundee bulletin in the main STV News at 6 pointless - it be better if the news was better from my area but its just the pits! Still laugh though when you hear them speak of "if you got news we should be covering contact us ...." ... eh? Surely it should be YOUR job looking for the news not the public?

Also just with you saying about ITV - at least ITV has revamped itself a few times, STV still uses that kite design with the S in it - could they not go with something else? Yet the other thing is Scotland Tonight still uses the previous set of graphics from the STV News, yet STV News has a new set, I was expecting when they brought the logo on Scotland Tonight would get a refreshing look but its dull (its like its Christmas everyday!)

What an absolute farce. Honestly they should be ashamed of themselves for that.
