Is the general rule for STV not that you must be from Glasgow or a surrounding Weegie town if you're to be on it? In fact, is that not the general rule for the media in Scotland?

All Glasgow. And who presented the ceremony? A Glaswegian. Where were the awards held? Glasgow.

The only thing not Glasgow was the Scheme, which is another west-coast special.

The only positive is the STV East news, which still has to make do with a crap set in comparison to the STV West news.

That list is desperate - I didn't realise we are that bad up here - ok these progs might raise a few laughs but come on execs. - that is poor...

of course there was ONE programme STV made outside Glasgow and that was "rebus" - in Edinburgh (even STV dont think of making more of this show than still finding a buyer for "taggart") - I will agree on STV North we have been having that set since the West changed this was a "trial" supposedly .... but its ok when this new bulletin after news at ten the STV North will have got the "makeover" to catch up - typical STV

Curiously the Freeview EPG lists 'The Hour' at 22.40 tonight, but it's 'DCI Banks' which is on I think.

Did STV plan to move 'The Hour' to late night before deciding to axe it?

Enjoying Dowton last night, on STV, I was interested to see trailers for the forthcoming Midsomer Murder showing on Wednesday.

It APPEARS as though we could be getting one of the new Neil Dudgeon episodes at the same time as the rest of the UK!

Could this be true, or did STV not think to remove the trailer from their ad break?

ACTUALLY Bidie STV are showing the NEWER ones ... kinda pointless half way aint it?? - oh wait STV don't have a clue do they really? (itv.com - source) I still wouldnt give STV a gold star just yet! - STV must be desperate or is it another "gave into viewer complaints"?? I wonder

Regarding Midsomer can someone please tell me why so late into the new season already showing on ITV1 that STV decide now to pull plug on the OLD barnaby eps whilst halfway through??

STV must think they are geniuses pulling this one out the bag but clearly its a big fail (a big fail on STV - should be ashamed of themselves doing this plus no one has a background on the new barnaby if your an STV viewer so doing this it's going to leave viewers not having much clue - excluding the christmas ep with Nettles leaving..) I wonder whats next STV are going to do?

It's very strange how STV are showing a new episode of Midsomer Murders this week. They've only shown two new episodes of it in the last couple of years (John Nettles' penultimate and final episodes) whilst the rest of the time they've either opted out or shown repeats. I wonder why they''re, all of a sudden, airing a new episode this week? And surely it will confuse the hell out of some of the STV viewers as it's an all new actor in the lead role and they don't know anything about the new Barnaby character which had been explained in Neil Dudgeon's first few episodes.

this is STV remember rzt this does not surprise me in a way I am glad I am well ahead of the Midsomer but to do this - has to be one of the most stupidest things this channel has done ... give it more time they will then start showing the newer ones in reverse next (once ITV1 has aired this full series) .. and possibly they will probably have skipped a couple of "high stakes" next - STV management need a good kicking thats for sure...

I think this weeks episode is *new* to ITV viewers too - good grief, we all are singing from the same hymn book, as they say.

Hopefully we will get the episodes which 'introduce' John Barnaby - and his wife and their adorable scene stealing dog - in the coming months.

ITV is well ahead with STV anyway with this ... I would hope STV would "start" from the beginning with John Barnaby after this I would not be surprised once Downton is finished STV will do the "catch up" of Midsomer or will this be down to ITV yet again to do it for them??

Remember STV does not apologise if its shot itself in the foot they just float their own boat and choose whats best for Scotland (Right ok.... ....) .... hell STV News North has not had an "update" yet with the new programme "scotland tonight" starting later ... shows you also how little STV really care about its viewers....

I watched Scotland Tonight last night (Monday) - slightly different from Newsnight Scotland in that it is incorporating the Scottish news headlines within the prog - so in effect you had 5-10 mins. standard news headlines then 15-20 mins. more in depth look at a news item, plus a sort of tabloidy "5 things to look out for tomorrow" feature.

All in all it wasn't too bad - maybe not as chunky as Newsnight Scotland but an acceptable alternative.

Bizarrely, next week (Tuesday 1st Nov) STV drop "Scotland's Greatest Album" and move it to next Thursday 3rd! It is replaced with a new series of Homes From Hell (shown in England recently I presume). Seems odd moving Greatest Album.... when it has been there for weeks.

On Thursday 3rd STV's Greatest Album airs at 9 - 10pm & Joanna Lumley's Greek Odyssey moves to 11.05 - 12.00.

Homes From Hell was shown on ITV1 earlier in the year (caught it on PS3/ITVPlayer)

Find it amazing though they give priority the following week to their Greatest Album whilst Joanna Lumley's programme is thrown out of sight

Why not for the Album "results" lets just put up the testcard instead?

I'm guessing Scotland's Greatest Album is being moved to a Thursday for the final programme as it will have the lead-in from Coronation Street, whereas now it has High Stakes preceding it.

You ain't kidding why does STV not slum their own programme LATE be alot easier as I am sure majority of us really dont give a crap about "scotland's greatest album"

I am sure it maybe a "lead-in" but I can see alot of viewers taking the "lead out" and going elsewhere

This is an old broadcasting trick - schedule a series in a really late timeslot and then say it has not proved popular.

I would LOVE to know the numbers who phone in for the Scotland's Greatest programmes.....1000 viewers, 10,000, 100,000? When the first of these endlessly trailed 'fillers' was broadcast - Greatest Scot - Lorraine Kelly, champion of all things STV, said in an article that she wanted it to create "watercooler moments in offices. Everyone discussing who should win". Only discussions these shows generate are along the lines of "did anyone watch that cr@p last night? No, me neither!".

I think the days of "watercooler moments" in offices, or indeed anywhere are over. She must be joking....erm..she isn't sadly I do remember the days when you DID talk about what you saw the night before - e.g. the very first screening of Jaws - it was on ITV on a Thursday night, started around 7.30pm - shown 1982 or 1983? - got over 20 million if I remember correctly.... and well talked about at school the next day!! )

If STV have done that just for the sake of that answer in "bold" - how stupid do STV think the viewers are?? - I am sure I would rather listen and watch Joanna Lumley speak about Greece History than some Scot speak about a Greatest Album courtesy of STV

Anyone I speak to regarding all these "discussions" programmes STV run ie "album road scot" - no one really cares! (in a good way) - but this is STV giving all us Scots things as they see "related" as Scottish ... It's cringeworthy TV to watch and whoever think these ideas does need to get a kick up the ass!

Regarding viewers for this show I would not be at all surprised if its scraping with viewers in reality than the STV perception of a Success when its possibly failing on its feet

No way would anyone have a raging debate about Scotland's Greatest Team or Scotland's Greatest Album. What annoyed me, in this interview, was Lorraine singing the praises of Downton - series 1 - as her favourite programme of last year, when he beloved STV had denied viewers the chance to see it.

So she was happy to endore Scotland's Greatest.....Trossach, as long as she did not have to watch it.

Although set in Edinburgh, Rebus with Ken Stott was actually shot in Glasgow. They would film one day per ep in Edinburgh to set the scene.

now I am shocked I actually thought it was all done in Edinburgh - so let me guess the "views" of some streets of Edinburgh were filmed one day per ep and the rest was done in Glasgow?

So much for it being an Edinburgh crime based "drama"
