now I am shocked I actually thought it was all done in Edinburgh - so let me guess the "views" of some streets of Edinburgh were filmed one day per ep and the rest was done in Glasgow?

So much for it being an Edinburgh crime based "drama"
Quite a lot of Trainspotting which is set in Edinburgh was filmed in Glasgow. It happens all the time.

On topic, STV is pretty awful most of the time.

There it was and I thought I was mistaken STV knew what they were doing all along .... obviously not by the looks of it!

Let guess also "high road" wasn't based somewhere in the highlands ..... it was based in a studio in the centre of Glasgow ... renamed "take the Glasgow Road"

High Road was next to Loch Lomond, a place called Luss....not exactly the Highlands, just and no more.

Yes. Until they closed the Gateway studio. latterly the programme was recorded in Studio A at Cowcaddens. Despite the fact that Studio A was almost a third larger than the Gateway studio the sets were still very close together. I remember seeing the studio floor from the upper level and was amazed at how close everything was together.

TV studios always look bigger on screen than they are in real life. STV's new main studio at Pacific Quay is very small by comparison to the former studios at Cowcaddens.

I think Studio C is still larger than what is in Pacific Quay, that why STV goes next door and uses the BBC ones:

If anyone would like to see Studio A Glen micheal has a clip
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IwL7...h_e_se&list=SL

You have to
* 14M 15sec in to see Studio C
* 16m 20S you see it with Fun house - Studio A
* 35m 25s in to See Studio A Empty,...

Rebus in Glasgow:

The majority of Shallow Grave although set in Edinburgh was filmed in Glasgow too.

This is down to the fact that most TV & Film people in Scotland are Glasgow based and it saves travel time, overnights and per diems being based in Glasgow rather than Edinburgh.

One thing I'd like to know about STV is why in the north east of Scotland do you not get it in HD? I mean if they can make the shows HD for Glasgow etc then why not for the whole of Scotland. I may be wrong but it's just a signal being sent to a dish or a Freeview box.

STV only have the capacity on Freeview and Virgin Media for one HD feed - the main Glasgow feed is used.

Thanks for posting. Brought back many happy memories of my visits to STV. (You are right the old Studio C was much larger than the new studios down at Pacific Quay.

STV are still trying to upload more programmes etc to STV youtube player but its taken some time! and I believe there have had to re-upload a number of shows again to to Tech/wrong name issues.

Also Tv ark has uploaded some new "Scottish tv " clips http://www2.tv-ark.org.uk/itv_scotland/idents2.html

I must say congrats to STV for ruining a song for that ad for "scotland tonight" using - Billy Joel "We Didn't Start The Fire" - its not just that its irritating as hell when STV plays it

Surely Billy Joel will feature in the Greatest Album show - he has played concerts at Edinburgh castle! That means he will qualify!

Suitable music for trailing STV-made programmes;

"It's Over" Roy Orbison
"The Winner Takes It All" - Abba
"Sorry, Seems To Be The Hardest Word" - Elton John
"Ghost Town" The Specials
"Hello?" Lional Ritchie*
"Without You" Neilson.

(*during WW2 his Grandfather visited Scotland and loved it. So another entry to the Greatest Album programme....)

....Bidie its finished now and we find out the winners and results on Thursday remember ... thats where they move Joanna Lumleys last ep of Greek Odyssey to 11.05pm! - whats that?? - yes I will be on ITV1 for the last one at 9pm! (screw STV)

regarding Billy Joel I would not be at all surpised if STV brings up the "missed" contenders for the programme...Claire Grogan says ... thanks for all your votes and we have counted them and the winner is.....The Proclaimers with 500 miles!! .... sorry to all the missed contenders the programme was fixed anyway and was obvious from the start ... anyway more money in STV's pockets - Thank You for watching ... Look out for the next Scottish "interest" programme and we will take more money from you!

Can I make a suggestion? Matt Cardle "Run for your life" or leona lewis "collide"

I hope Del Amitri got a mention.......

I would love to know how many people pick up the phone and vote for this nonsense. I wonder how we can find out?

And IF the resulting "album" hits the shops for Christmas, we will know it was all a carve up with only acts that agreed to their track being released being included.

I would like to ask them what relevance that song has to the programme they are trailing - utter stupidity.

They are fast establishing a stupid track record of playing inappropriate music - the last one was a number of weeks ago when they played Petula Clark's DOWNTOWN when trailing DOWNTON Abbey. Talk about thick!

Oh and this morning they played muzak (that kind you hear in hotel lifts) over the whole hour of Lorraine on STV +1 - picture was there, but not even the courtesy of a caption saying "due to technical/legal reasons we apologise that we are unable to bring you audio for this programme." Total amateurs!!!

I think without doubt this is the worst tv programme trail I have ever seen. It is truly horrendous. A 14year old media studies student could have done better on his home computer. And a tasteless sung line of "Glasgow Airport Terrorists". Crass, naff and tacky. Kind of sums up Stv?

I thought I heard right and also something about the UK Coalition Government ... seriously if people are to take STV seriously they definately do not need to sing "we didnt start the fire" - and who at STV thought it was a good idea I wonder?

Why the hell would you put "downtown" to downton if anything either do a classical mix of an original song or just use classical music

Regarding scotland tonight ad - baffles me why they chose that I was expecting "flowers of scotland"

Regarding Lorraine (on +1 dont watch it also) - STV dont apologise for anything these days ... I wouldnt be at all surprised if they blamed ITV1 for that

to answer all those questions you must see it at 9pm on thursday as Joanna has been told she has been slummed to 11.05... will anyone be watching I highly doubt it ... I am sure some viewers have probably abandoned after this week and wouldnt much give a toss about it anyway
