LOL - I am trying to convince myself it is good, but LOL I will keep an open mind and still record it to see. At best I will probably conclude if it is on maybe watch it, but don't tune in especially for it...

Bang on again Kezo - and STV are showing him again this Saturday night at 12.50am! Maybe the title refers to STV?!

LOL "beyond a joke" is the retitle - Sir Brian Cox investigates the paranomal activity known as STV and tells us why...

Actually come to think of it since these are OLD reshowings is Sir Brian getting any royalties from this or is this a "free" thing yet again .. or is STV passing the buck to ITV to do the "paying"... never fails to amaze me that STV can do these "10 min" reshowing of programmes that were about 2005-6 or possibly either forward or backwards and still get the "good job" handshake ... yes I am sure if this was BBC or ITV doing this at night I am sure hell would freeze over...

LOL hold on to that .... after 5 mins when I watched it - it didnt convince me to go I'll be back for this! ... made me go BBC Scotland "wait for me"

Heck STV is coming across in my own opinion the worst channel to watch and thats when I do go to it I abandon ship...

STV Productions have secured a co-production for ITV2

That is correct but it will be filmed in the US by an American company. Another example of putting "the Scottish back into Stv".

Absolute guff by the sounds of it - and Alan Clements at STV, is he not married to Kirsty Wark? - anyone remember the old Wark/Clements productions?

You think she would tell him to get some decent shows on...

Has anyone not seen "Paris Hilton's BFF" that was on ITV2? - oh wait let me guess viewers like myself avoided that show like the plague...and to have STV "co-produce" this show (alongside ITV/2) with Perez gives people more reason to avoid it!

Remember this production will probably be all made in US (obviously) can't see STV or ITV wanting to bring Perez up to "bonnie" scotland but more likely to england anyway....

I wonder how the programme will look? --- "dodgy" angles and possibly all done on the set of "the hour" - that type of show is beyond boring ... look at "TOWIE" aka The Only Way Is Essex ... viewers are turning it off .. may as well give Perez's show to MTV since thats where Paris is...

Also here is another question what CHANNEL would this be shown?? I highly doubt STV ... be more on ITV2 .... so what is exactly is the POINT doing a "co-production"? ... possibly to get "STV's" brand name OUT THERE again

EDIT: i dont think STV have ever heard of the word "decent" i think they have heard of the word "cheap" and "profit" LOL

I have to wonder; how much of the profits have gone on to subadise the local news .....

I'd guess it is filmed in the US by STV's partners, then STV will edit it and put it together into the finished show

Anyway not just STV that air rubbish is it, ITV PLC as well

surprising isnt it? I am more surprised that STV would go along with this thought they knew better .... oh wait no they didn't obviously

Also shows how "little" creativity STV actually do have nowadays ... I wonder who came up with this STV management? I guess STV got the call from ITV HQ and they said to them "lets work together on this" -- the STV staff must have being throwing a party with glee that they are working with "the hiltons" on a TV show ... didnt realise they had a "scottish" connection.... I know they run hotels ... i'll also take a guess that when this does air it will be sponsored by "hilton hotels"

very little .... oh wait they have the "technology" but staff have to be cut ... thats more savings! not wastage!

STV have enough money to make the "six million dollar man" and the "bionic woman" and enough to throw stag and hen nights for the staff all year round....no expenses spared

Looking forward to Stv's only drama commission this year. The one-off "Fast Freddie, the Widow and Me" set in England and filmed in London. I wonder if Stv will choose to opt out of this and show "The Football Years that we can show, when we actually showed football on Stv" instead?

Did you just say ONLY drama this year? - mind you in saying that they publicise "underbelly" as one of their own

If they did do an opt out of that one off drama I am sure STV would get stick but remember they know whats best "for the viewers"

Yip 1x90mins filmed in London. They do not make Underbelly they just buy it in, in the same way ABC in Australia buys in & shows Taggart.

I watched a bit of Nightshift last night, same presenter and helicoptor shots on the on Tayside and HD (Glasgow) versions, but different background music!? I say Tayside version because we got the local news from Dundee inserted.

I knew that with "underbelly" it was bought in but the way they advertised as if it was there own programmes when its clearly not

That was mentioned in the earlier thread of this ... shot in "london" yet its made by STV ... I guess this is STV first steps of stepping "outside" scotland excluding australia....

I did wonder that as I too caught it yet again...I am not 100% sure the "tayside" news is "inserted" I think its shown nationally as if you look "81441" is kept on during the bulletin - so I think its not just us in Dundee thats sees it its the whole of scotland... and its an embarassment when you see it on again...especially when they try and "run a joke" and fails miserably....

Will someone tell me please, does stv have no rights to show England football matches, because while ITV1 are showing the match against Spain, STV are showing "Nicholas Nickelby"
Mr Sirs
11-11-2011
Here are the main STV OPT-OUTs for 12th-18th Nov:-

SATURDAY 12TH -

2.40-4.20pm FILM: SPY KIDS - 2001 comedy (ITV - FILM: Stop Or My Mom Will Shoot!) - stv win that one, as ITVs film offering is poor.

4.45-7.15pm FILM: NICHOLAS NICKLEBY - 2002. (ITV - England v Spain football) - If you're a football fan then you lose on this one, but stv replace it at least with a half decent family film.

11.00pm-12.50am FILM: BOWFINGER - 1999 comedy (ITV - Football highlights, The Cube) - Again, footie fans lose out on the highlights, but stv gain kudos by again offering a decent film.

SUNDAY 13TH -

11.05am-3.00pm VET SCHOOL BITES (rpt), SURVIVAL, FILM: HARRY POTTER & THE PRISONER OF AZKABAN - 2004 Adventure (ITV - Halifax v Charlton football) - It's 3rd time unlucky for football fans North of the border, but once again stv's movie replacement is admirable.

10.45pm-1.55am WALTON SEXTUPLETS (rpt), SCOTLAND REVEALED (rpt.), FILM: THREE MUSKETEERS - 1973 Adventure (ITV - Football Highlights, Real Crime (rpt.) ) - No show on the football again, stv replace it with a repeat of an interesting documentary, and although they again have a good film choice it's an unusual time to screen a family orientated film.

MONDAY 14TH -

10.30pm-5.30am - After Scotland Tonight, STV trails the network with REAL CRIME at 11.00pm, and with THE NIGHTSHIFT starting at 12midnight - oddly it shows a CHAMPIONS LEAGUE WEEKLY programme at 2.35-3.00am (why not screen it at 12.00-12.25am?!!).

TUESDAY 15TH -

7.30-10.10pm - BEYOND EXPECTATION (rpt.), CHEETAH KINGDOM, HIGH STAKES, HOMES FROM HELL (ITV - England v Sweden football) - Football fans look away now!

10.40pm-12.10am - SCOTLAND TONIGHT, BABIES BEHIND BARS (rpt.) - (ITV - Football Highlights, FILM:CADDYSHACK - 1980 Comedy). Stv's offerings are overshadowed by ITV's fare. And whilst during the night ITV viewers can enjoy classic 1970s cop show Kojak, THE NIGHTSHIFT airs 12.10-5.30am!

WEDNESDAY 16TH -

10.30pm-5.30am - After Scotland Tonight, it's a repeat showing of COPS WITH CAMERAS (as ITV) then the diabolical NIGHTSHIFT from 12midnight-5.30am. ITV shows the acceptable 1969 movie Anne Of the Thousand Days at the bizarre time of 2.35-5.00am after their Zone strand.

THURSDAY 17TH -

10.30pm-5.30am - After Scotland Tonight, it's a repeat showing of PIERS MORGAN (as ITV) followed by the Sean Connery film OUTLAND from 12midnight-1.55am. ITV repeats The Choir That Rocks and then The Zone/Nightscreen.

FRIDAY 18TH -

10.30pm-5.30am - FILM: FREEZE FRAME - A 2004 Comedy, then NIGHTSCREEN from 12.30-5.30am. ITV goes for Film:Hellboy 2 from 2008, The Zone & a Columbo - again screening at the odd time of 2.45-4.15am.

Thoughts for this week:

STV win no friends with a no show on the International & Cup football, but to be fair they start the weekend off with respectable film choices, and in general their film choices are good this week (albeit an odd time for The 3 Musketeers). Their screening of Outland on Thursday night is clever - taking the broadcaster up to 1.55am, but this is spoiled on the Friday when Nightscreen appears at 12.30am!

All in all, one of their better weeks I would say!

The thing that surprises me out of this is the repeats even though they are possibly between 5-10 mins is repeats of "scotland revealed" "vet school bites" and "beyond explanation" and "beyond explanation" is one of their oldest repeated programmes .. if its just for "fillers" STV really do need to do something alot better in new year! ... I barely see ITV filling their schedule with 10 mins of "jeremy kyle" if STV start using "greatest scot" "made in scotland" and "scotlands greatest album" next for "fillers" I seriously would question whats the point in these? ... they may as well just play music videos for the gaps really

Suggestions for this week

As above for Monday 14th - screen the Champions League prog. at 12-12.25am.

Tuesday 15th - screen Kojak 12.10-12.55am.

Wednesday 16th - screen Film: Anne Of the Thousand Days 12midnight-2.25am.

Thursday 17th - leave as is.

Friday 18th - screen Columbo from 12.30-2.00am.

With these suggestions at least viewers would have a few extended hours of viewing most nights, with the diabolical Nightshift still being shown - but less of.

Not bad MrSirs but question - why cant STV screen "kojak" at same time as ITV ... (example programme) plus as you said less of the NightShits programme....

Plus nearly seeing this programme all week now proves how diabolical the programme really is ... STV need to ditch this programme ... will never understand why "re-running" episodes of "the hour" chopped (interviews or in the kitchen...) and showing even celeb interviews as far back as either 70's or 80's as well as having "helicopter" views of areas of Scotland - why?? - no wonder why I say close after midnight as this programme proves how crap it really is!
