A good example of the differences between BBC Scotland's output and that of STV is the programme being shown tonight in England/Wales "Wild About Pandas". This looks at the journey and arrival of the cuddly twosome from China at Edinburgh zoo, an hour long programme that is informative and well made and gives viewers countless chances to say "aw bless, look at their wittle feety-weet".
In Scotland, this programme was shown 10 days ago. Now it is being shown to the rest of the UK.
NOTHING that STV have made - with the possible exception of Vet School - would be bought by any other channel for broadcast. Who wants to go 'Up The Cairns' with some unknown Scottish presenter? Unless STV start making programmes which they can sell they are doomed.

.... If STV are trying to be BBC they need their presenters to work more of a team than what looks like Crash TV News and is cringeworthy to watch....I see on my news also on the "split"
and Scotland Tonight is quite watchable and better than the short news bulletin we had before. As to the programming, STV works for me. Scottish Passport can be pretty interesting, especially this week when Blythe Duff and hubbie visited Taiwan. Most of my viewing is on STV and I am happy with it. I have a choice when a programme comes on that I do not fancy, turn over and find something else to watch, I am not saying that STV is perfect, but neither is ITV or BBC. We have a regional broadcaster that is trying to work within a budget and overall I think that STV are making not too bad a job of it.
