This new agreement changes all that, expect to 3, 30mins slots between 7pm - 10pm each week :P”

well if thats true seiko STV really need to produce programmes worth WATCHING if not viewers will desert them still but I aint keeping my hopes up sadly .... and I am sure some on here will possibly agree with me as what you listed above being honest these programmes are just crap - and plus it shows then that STV have really been as tight with their money and not spend it on programming (but rather throw it on other things even their comps) so I still wouldnt say STV are out the woods yet but prove me wrong

May also add but who wants to bet that STV will place these "opt outs" at possibly programming viewers will want to watch (same thing prove me wrong) - as over the recent opt out of caroline quentins "cornwall" to "scottish passport" - carloine quentin won with me and I only seen a few episodes of it .. compared to "scottish passport" - that was the biggest load of crap I ever watched and don't see why a "deal" is on to check the site - such a thing give the viewer a rough idea and possibly give them a telephone number not say "check the site"

I rarely watch STV these days it's so awful and I mainly watch dramas so I use ITV player - really hope the Herald is wrong with this story:

"SCOTTISH viewers might be prevented from watching ITV programmes on play back if STV has opted out of them after a shake-up in the relationship between the Glasgow-based broadcaster and the Channel 3 network. ........

STV chief executive Rob Woodward told The Herald: "At the moment both the ITV Player and the STV Player are available in Scotland and the STV Player is available in England.

"We will move to a model so that we will geoblock. The ITV Player will not be available in Scotland and the STV Player in England."

Not sure how they'll do that, hope they can't .... the one thing that may drive me to get Virgin Media

ELLIE G the new deal mean STV will have to buy the whole lot, but of course it does mean if stv think its does badly, JUST like in the good old days then there can dropped it.

I just with STV would make more top end shows

* New Drama
* more Wheeel!
* Documentary

I'll agree with dramas/documentaries but what the hell you speak of with "wheeel" seiko? if you mean "wheel of fortune" that will never come back that was 90's and if you had not noticed "scottish passport" is 90's ... STV are not doing to great with revivals are they .... according to STV for "scottish passport" ... it was what "viewers wanted" I doubt it was more like "STV Management wanted" .... I think there needs to be a reality check here....

Also why do we need more quiz shows on TV ... you got challenge TV .... possibly you can pick up your "wheeel" there

Here is a question regarding this....if its meant not make a "difference" to viewers in general ... i'll presume its fine ... however I want to add this, If STV had started showing re-runs of "rebus" would the actors get paid from STV or is that again ITV?? I wouldnt mind if there was an answer to that part....
(this would also include NEW dramas STV actually make as well ... when they get the time )

So how are they going to do this? And what about the people in the Border region, eh (the region that is owned by ITV plc)? Some of them ARE in Scotland! So which player will they get? Methinks Geoblocking isn't really going to work here.

In one newspapers take on the latest twist in the STV v ITV story, an STV boss is reported as saying

"Scottish programmes that prove popular with viewers will remain".

So.........

That will be.......

BOLLOCKS! .... what "scottish" programmes? Sean Batty and his weathercrowd? OR scottish holidays? OR the "scottish" imports ... STV get a reality check give the viewers what they really want ... and thats a half decent channel producing and doing great programming .. none of this Scotlands greatest tosser or any of that crap .... STV get real for once and get back to reality and stop living on Cloud 9 :sleep: ... as well as that get some of the programming that is on NOW on ITV1 than telling the viewers "wait ...... loading....." Would it still be a laugh in a sense if this plan fails? ... and lets just say STV delay more programming than resolving it ... prove me wrong STV ... i'll wait on the evidence first.....

Looking at ITV1 Wales, which has the same opt-out requirements, opt-outs between 7pm and 10pm vary between 1 and 3 half hour slots per week. There is also usually 1 10.35pm opt-out a week for 'Welsh' programming. The opt-outs includes Sharp End (politics) and Wales This Week (current affairs I think)

So based on that, STV could vary the level of Scottish programming each week so long as it averaged out correctly. And if Scotland Tonight is counted as current affairs, not news, it may count towards peak time opt-outs. Based on ITV1 Wales I presume Ofcom regard primetime as ending around 11pm

EDIT. Here are ITV1 Wales opt-outs this week
Sun - Nothing
Mon - 8pm: The Ferret (consumer show) instead off The Dales
Today - Nothing
Wed - Nothing
Thu - 10.35pm: Local Documentary/Sharp End instead of Jonathan Ross repeat
Fri - Nothing
Sat - Nothing
(The Dales will probably turn up late night at some point instead of a repeat or Film)

God knows what happened, Norman was left staring at his script for ever at the local news junction before they cut to a caption.

Now they cut off the filler programme mid stream
