[quote=p_c_u_k;57127736][quote=kezo;57119735]Now they are able to apologise ... it took them til last week to actually apologise ... but then again they relied on a "voiceover" from STV Central to say it ... shows you STV North has no "announcers" ... guess that too was a "hidden" cut.
Quote:
“
That's been the case since Scottish Television took over Grampian many many years ago. If it hasn't been noticed until now I suppose it was a sensible saving.”

If its "sensible" saving shows you how bad STV North has gone...

Anther MESS UP last night - this time on Scotland Tonight...

Watching on channel 33 (Freeview) STV + 1, and the presenter says "now to the news in your area" - cuts to a Holly Hamilton who says "now the news in Glasgow and the west...." then ZAP - suddenly she is replaced by a blonde lass who (against a backdrop of Edinburgh Castle) starts telling us the news from Edinburgh and the east!

Utter amateurs - no apology at the end of the programme, and I wonder if this happened during the original broadcast an hour earlier? If so, why wasn't it rectified - and if so, was there an apology then?

Mr Sirs you SEE whats POPPED up EVENTUALLY it went JAWS/JAWS 2 ..... stop - quiet and look its up! (randomly) so much for following a saga! ... STV cock up films now as well!

I would not be surprised soon STV will screen "crossing jordan" once their done with it ... STV is predictable already without networking

the mistakes that are made originally still go out on +1 (no idea why) but its a classic I think.... There goes professionalism out of "scotland tonight" now so what is "professional" about STV now .... must be on a low budget now LOL....savings must be low ... next week staff will be working with HD camcorders

Oh look at tomorrow its a NEW episode with Neil Dudgeon and John Nettles on ... SAME TIME as ITV1 can someone please tell me what the hell STV are really playing at?

They have done it AGAIN with this programme "dip in" and then go back to the ones with John Nettles nevermind already FAR behind on the Neil Dudgeon eps already!

I see John McKay comes across as the voice of STV doesn't he? ... see how STV have stuck the foot in it regarding the "torch relay" ... I watched Scotland Tonight when he was interviewing Sir Jack McConnell (never liked the guy either) regarding ... independence and for ONCE I agreed with McConnell but I did notice that night it was like he was speaking as if he spoke for SNP ... the way to describe it was as if McConnell is "wrong" SNP is "right" approach?

I was also told last night Scotland Tonight became a "slagging" match yet again ... female presenter sitting about (laughing) and letting others rip into whoever they were interviewing so much for being a "balanced" programme eh? and everyone has a go at BBC for that? Seems like STV trying or are doing a "copycat" approach.... surprised this is the STV approach for a "current affairs" programme .... be quicker hiring either Jeremy Kyle or Jerry Springer be alot easier!

I think this article pretty much explains that ITV as we've known it is about to change. STV and UTV appear to be preparing to become 'affiliates':

With STV able to pick and choose what programmes they take I wonder if they will take it to conclusion and run their own schedules independently of ITV?

Was watching STV News tonight and low and behold its a farce yet again .... Cheryl Paul reports LIVE from Dundee regarding "the budget - dundee jobs etc" less than 30 secs into it she is cut off (did not know what she actually spoke about for Dundee) but good to hear about the Orkneys/Shetlands .... NO APOLOGY then straight after her report Norman then says "lets see whats on "scotland tonight" goes to female presenter and she too is cut off before she even starts and yet again NO APOLOGY and just went straight to Tyrone with the sport (looked like as if they expected it and kept it going ... yet if you time the "scotland tonight segment in the news must be up to 15-30 secs?)

This is just nothing but bad news from STV North I hate even saying it but its going down the tubes and what once was a good news bulletin is now becoming a beginners crash course

Statue ... what else have they wasted money on?? oh yeah cheap imports and managed to make savings on their own programming .... Just noticed some changes tonight :-

7.30-10.10pm - ITV: FA Cup Football. STV: CORNWALL WITH CAROLINE QUENTIN - MIDSOMER MURDERS - VET SCHOOL BITES (rpt).

After News the original OPT OUT schedule stands - though it is running 10 mins. later, with the exception of SCOTLAND REVEALED MOMENTS, which is cancelled. NIGHTSCREEN comes on at 1am.

Verdict: In yet another bizarre move, Countrywise Kitchen is dropped from the schedule to make way for a new series (behind ITV) of CORNWALL.

Back tomorrow for the rest of the week OPT OUTs.

I think Countrywise Kitchen was not shown this weeks due to the football on ITV1 so I presume it will return next week and god knows where STV will put Cornwall next....I did note that also about 1am Nightscreen BUT in my local paper it says Nightscreen starts at 3.45am on ITV1 so how is that as ITV1 are showing "crossing jordan" and "the zone" before 3.45am! ... or is it STV's testcard

I cant see STV getting more rights to Football, but it does mean it could ( if the above deal goes ahead ) be able to provide better replacements.

As much as some people hate it Nightshaft is not going anywhere as it does get the viewers!

The problem is the "better" replacements would have been better aired at same time as ITV1 were showing it but hey ho this is STV "shafting" all programming to suit THEIR NEEDS nobody elses.....its like that new programme asking "scottish" celebs on how much energy they waste on electric .... for god sake who in their right mind will want to BUY that programme from them after 4 weeks ... ANY BIDDERS?? ..... no.... expect that programme to be the NEXT sample for the "nightshits"

Yes that programme STV just started last week - nowhere THIS WEEK ... let me guess it will be on a wednesday as an "opt out" for the football STV may/may not broadcast? - If so that programme has no consistency being on does it - compared to watching it on ITV1 .... seems to me STV still have no clue how to run its OWN station never mind the scheduling of programmes....

A bit behind with the OPT OUTs this week. Here are tonight's - back tomorrow with the rest of the week!

(Earlier today) - 3.00-5.00pm - ITV: Dickinson's Real Deal/Midsomer Murders. STV: MIDSOMER MURDERS.

Tonight - 9.00-10.00pm - ITV; Scott & Bailey.

STV: THE FIXER.

10.30pm-2.35am - ITV: The Agenda/Mayday Mayday/Piers Morgan/The Zone.

STV: SCOTLAND TONIGHT - THE AGENDA - MAYDAY MAYDAY (rpt) - JEREMY KYLE (rpt) - NIGHTSCREEN (from 1.00am).

Comment: In another odd move, STV completely drops popular daytime programme Dickinson's Real Deal, and there's still no sign of Cornwall!

Now I did wonder that as Midsomer Murder today was as they called it a "feature length" episode ... so really it was the original broadcast episode in full format than it is during the day on ITV1 ... I took it as it was a "holiday" (thinking England) guess I was wrong there! ... thanks for that info MrSirs

Can you imagine if STV leaves "gaps" in the "Cornwall" series that will be a laugh! .... and really NOT looking forward to "too good too waste" .... should rename it "too good to avoid it!" .... I wonder if STV spent any money making this programme and paid the STV Crew for it .... highly doubt it! ... where the hell does STV get these "ideas" from? ... they must hold a "name in the hat/idea" for their programming

To be fair to STV they aren't the only ITV franchise that is 'all over the place' with the 30 minute 'opposite Eastenders' shows. Some don't air consistently either on ITV1 Wales due to local programming and turn up late night. UTV also shunts some of them to late night

Though since STV have started with Cornwall they really should finish it, and not have long gapos between episodes. That Mayday Mayday repeat could have been Cornwall instead

STV+1 across the whole of central Scotland is the East version, this is for the benefit of Freeview viewers in the East who receive their signal from Black Hill rather than Craigkelly. So although you shouldn't have seen Holly Hamilton, it was the correct news shown eventually.

I will agree with you excel but if the likes of UTV and ITV Wales can "schedule" round programmes then why can't STV - seems to me they like having the viewers "guessing" where programmes will turn up (as if they haven't done that already )
