STV+1 across the whole of central Scotland is the East version, this is for the benefit of Freeview viewers in the East who receive their signal from Black Hill rather than Craigkelly. So although you shouldn't have seen Holly Hamilton, it was the correct news shown eventually.

Thanks for clarifying that.

Yes that programme STV just started last week - nowhere THIS WEEK ... let me guess it will be on a wednesday as an "opt out" for the football STV may/may not broadcast? - If so that programme has no consistency being on does it - compared to watching it on ITV1 .... seems to me STV still have no clue how to run its OWN station never mind the scheduling of programmes....

CORNWALL with CAROLINE QUENTIN - Episode 2 of this 8 part documentary series reappears next week!

Wednesday 11th April - STV 7.30-8.00pm.

On the same night ITV are showing "The Unforgettable Dick Emery" in the same time slot.

Here then are the STV OPT OUTs for the rest of this week (up to & incl. Friday). Back on Thursday with the Easter OPT OUTs plus into next week!

WEDNESDAY 4TH - 3.00-5.00pm As Tuesday.

10.30pm-3.45am - ITV: Champions League Extra Time/Road Warriors/The Zone/Motorsport.

Oh look I predicted a WEDNESDAY NIGHT ... so expect show to either be shown right through or be cut into pieces if footy is on yippee!! - nice one STV! should also add all Scottish viewers expect to see "Cornwall" on every fortnight than weekly (if this is STV's plan - more like a disgrace already)

What is STV's motive now behind not showing Dickinsons Real Deal this week? ... STV got no sponsorship for programme so take the week off from it and next week be back on? .... .... and plus the full length Midsomer Murders on at moment ITV will probably show them soon anyway more of the pity that the Midsomer STV are showing is still the John Nettles and no sign as of yet when they will begin showing ALL the Neil Dundgeon ones from the beginning...

I can't understand why they're not showing Dickinson's. I watch it and do the competition - are STV now depriving their viewers from entering that because they can't see the prog??!! Interestingly on Thursday & Friday STV shows the same Midsomer as ITV 3-5pm (Dickinson is dropped from ITV too).

god knows lol ... but at least ITV seem to be finishing it on tomorrow than what STV have done ... maybe ITV gave STV a "heads up" of it finishing later in week and STV thought to show Midsomer from a certain point ... wish STV (not ITV) would just move from the John Nettles Midsomer ... how many times does the STV viewer to keep seeing John Nettles episodes on repeat .... let me guess "tight" budget

STV should axe most of the daytime and replace with cheap USA soaps.

Can't agree with that, for a few reasons:-

STV will be entering into a deal with ITV to pay for the day's programmes as a package - they would then have to find space elsewhere in the schedule for programmes they have paid for! Plus then pay for USA soaps! Where's the financial sense in that?

Secondly, you would have an army of daytime tv fans up in arms at the loss or misplacement of This Morning, Loose Women, Dickinson's Real Deal, Alan Titchmarsh, The Chase, etc.. etc.. Disgruntled viewers would lose these proven ratings successes.

Thirdly, a constant diet of cheap USA soaps would be worse in terms of variety to what we have at the moment!

Lastly, it is debatable whether such soaps would be successful in the ratings in comparison to what is already in place.

Those are the reasons I disagree with your statement - in my opinion STV should be following ITV as much as possible during the day (as they are in the main doing just now).

Everytime I read at these "opt outs" that are out I can't get over the amount of times STV repeats its own programming from 5-10 years ago (yes ok they are only 10-15 mins long) but come on you don't see ITV or any other channel repeating that sort of programming over and over especially late at night (especially if its 15 mins!) they may as well try and find a programme worth half an hour to an hour instead than that same drivel!

Easter on STV - "Another chance to enjoy Christmas"?

As Vet School - which I loved - is now being repeated and repeated in bite sized chunks I suspect we are not going to get a new series.

A great pity because it was doing what STV promised it would - making QUALITY HOME GROWN PROGRAMMES!

Re Midsommer. We did get 1 Neil Dudgeon one - who knows why - but surely we will get the ones he stars in, in order, at some point?

Meanwhile, with water rationing in England, how long before we can enjoy

"Scotland's Greatest Resevoirs with Tam Dayell".

Nah Bidie dont expect new series of "vet school" STV will repeat this over and over and will run as NEW next year

Midsommer(STV spelling NUMPTIES) - we have had now TWO of them STV had "flicked" to a new episode for ONE week and went back to JOHN NETTLES as for the "Brighton" episode with BOTH that too was a ONE OFF (unknown when STV will move OFF John Nettles)

Expect the programme to be called STV's Greatest Rivers with Sean Batty next or "the day scotland saved england" hosted by the Great Scot of STV John McKay .... expect olympic torch to be featured on programme too! (expect also torch to be a REPLICA not the REAL THING )

Brace yourselves, Scottish animal lovers.

Animal 999 - a look at the work of the PDSA in Scotland begins on STV on Friday,13th at 8pm.

I assume this will just be a half hour show (2 Corries on a Friday, right?) but nonetheless it does appear as though STV have actually commissioned something which has been made from scratch withall new filmed footage!

http://www.scottishspca.org/news/874...eries-starting

(as someone who recently had to pay £176 to get her ancient cat repaired at the v.e.t, I shall be watching with interest. And doubtless with tears.....)

Not trying to bring a "damper" on this but its been "done" before (ok you had previous vet school) but come on .... is their no other programmes STV can actually make? other than "recycled" ideas .... next they will "recycle" postcode challenge next

Regarding it being all new footage on programme - oh STV actually make programmes without "clips" .... oh good ... lets get the party poppers out.... I wonder if STV invested "heavily" on the programme or be like scrapings off a barrel .... like the title "animal 999" .... eh "animal hospital" BBC

Edit: see programme runs for 8 weeks .... will STV have visited bases all over scotland or will they just stuck to the central belt .... narrator will probably be "glasweigan" also  .... Turning over to Come Dine With Me instead .... more enteraining!

Kezo - I cannot resist a baby hedgehog (hoglet) being fed from a dropper so I will be tuning in.

Ok, the idea is nothing new, but Vet School was a decent programme and it did pop up on one of the Sky channels not so long ago so it is that unheard of beast in the STV stable - a show that SELLS!!!!

The BBC used to get 9 million viewers for Animal Hospital and they are mad not to bring it back, even just 6 episodes per year. STV could be on to a good thing here - just a pity that it will only be 30 minutes + adverts (doubtless for cat food).

I hope the lady with the nice voice who narrated Vet School is on hand to present this.

I would rather watch "animal hospital" made by BBC it was well decent than what STV is doing in its place .... so whats this programme again vet school #2 .... mind you in saying that a "show that sells" .... STV hasnt done much in selling its own recent programming recently has it? STV should rename itself as a "recycling" channel if anything ... (don't worry bidie not having a go at it personally if you like that sort of stuff) but if STV is going to stick to making these sort of programmes ... then god help STV for any more "creative" ideas .... it possibly would be more of a good idea if the programme was possibly an hour long than 30 mins I reckon and lets not hold our breath once this programme is AIRED ... it will become part of STV "chunks" programming again .... so really its "here we go again" .... but where is the new STV Drama is what I would like to know.....

Edit: funny if you work it out its took STV this long to throw money AWAY at something "new" where there previous shows ie christmas/new year belts were "tight" .... right ok ... and how long ago was "vet school" ... 2-3 years old? ... so in that gap they manage to do a NEW programme ... it shows you what STV really does.....and STV would have been better putting on "cornwall" on friday instead than the farce its going to be on a wednesday

But STV must have commissioned it? And the PDSA do have standards. I am very hopeful.

I mean, it does not contain the words "Greatest" or "Scotland" so that has to be in its favour before it is even screened!

I notice that Trevor MacDonald's new programme about the Mississippi has slipped under the 'not relevant to Scotland' wire and will be shown at the same time as the rest of the UK.

I think it is his surname that confuses those at Glasgow HQ!

LOL

But only the mandarins at STV Towers can explain why Cornwall wasn't relevant to Scotland until last week, or why Scott & Bailey or Whitechapel or Benidorm or the new drama with Gregor Fisher (maybe STV think he is no longer Scottish because he no longer lives in Dunlop) or Midsomer Murders or others are not being shown - with no explanation of if and when they will be shown. Oh wait - maybe they'll be part of STVs "Autumn lineup - all new to STV!".

How predictable would that be?? ... should I be or or even this?

I also like how STV word the Midsomer Murders with John Nettles recently "feature length" --- heck they were 2 hours LONG originally you bunch of twits!

I caught the ad for Animal 999 - did anyone see the word they used to say when its "starts"?? "launches" .... didnt realise STV were "launching" anything ... the closest thing they will be "launching" will be Michelle Mcmanus and Lorriane Kelly from a Cannon ... or should that be that STV management I should be thinking of....

and the so called "not relevace to Scotland" crap it was a "smoke screen" to dupe the Scottish public into thinking programming they had put on instead had more relevance to Scotland than what ITV did .... yet STV still can not hold a white flag of "defeat" to say they were WRONG in the first place .... if it was me I personally would even bend backwards for STV I would rather have seen the channel sink and then see how it survives as without ITV - STV really has nothing in good programming compared to ITV (lets be honest) - good idea for STV to rely on the imported goods and still manage to make their own programming off scrapings from a barrel ... still lets see if STV can pull off a good drama since the demise of "taggart" but lets hold our breath - possibly be crap anyway!

Item on the Reporting Scotland that a High Court sentencing will be filmed for the first time when the man who killed his former mistress/colleague is sentenced next month.

Although only the judge will be shown, the request FROM STV has been granted.

Oh no - Scotland's Greatest Sentences

Scotland's Greatest Judges

Scotland's Greatest Woman Killers.
