Kezo you have just given the STV bigwigs an idea for a new series ..... Scotland's Greatest Murders - a new 6 part series recounting Scotland's infamous murder cases over the decades...

LOL oh boy STV will use "recycled" footage LOL .... they speak to Bible John on the phone (cue Lady Gaga "telephone ) .... Didnt STV not do something similar to what you mention about Scotland's Murderers or was that just "taggart" I'm thinking of .... nah MrSirs I have gave the bigwigs at STV an idea on a drama related to Bible John but on second thoughts STV will ruin it in someway or another....heck did you not read it was last year (well I heard maybe on google somewhere) that STV were wanting or are doing "the broons" as a "drama" or lines like that .... yeah the broons are based in Dundee and according to STV as usual (and will be predictable I reckon) it will be a Glasweigan cast ROFL!

Are STV showing Scott & Bailey series 2 at all? i wonder cos they showed series 1 so why not 2? If they are not shwoing it does this mean i have to buy it on dvd? if so this is getting ridiculous just to watch a show i have to buy the dvd now. I wish they would make up their minds if they are not going to continue showing a series then don't show any of it at all.

Its like dodgying bullets with STV unfortunately Roxley, You can start getting into a programme ie Scott and Bailey and STV decide to take it off and show something either to "their" standards or catch up on a 3 year old programme ... I would give STV 6 months or more for series 2 to air or if by chance they throw it on in next few weeks (highly doubt it) ... but this is the point I made earlier the scottish viewers are being treated as second class with certain programmes

Don't laugh, but prisoner cell block h used to get the highest ratings in Scotland. Therefore woman prison drama works here.

Well i just hope that i don't go and buy series 2 on dvd only for STV to start showing it a short time later, that would seriously p*ss me off BIG TIME!

As an English viewer, I like the STV and UTV variations available on satellite.
There is next to no regionalisation of ITV1 any more, having the films or alternative dramas available on STV/UTV makes a great alternative to yet another football match on ITV1.
Even the dramas are sometimes different.
Freesat boxes are available quite cheaply nowadays, it pays to have one whichever country you're in so you can get the alternatives available.

It maybe beneficial to people who have Sky/VM/Freesat but this in itself is providing less than an alternative for anyone who has freeview ... The only thing people can do to avoid anything no matter what it is has to either go "online" or use the PS3

You speak about "alternative" dramas on STV makes a great alternative to a footy match on ITV1 ... I am no footy fan but I am pretty sure some Scots would watch that instead of STV "alternative" (no matter what it is) .... Mind you the STV viewing public are still waiting on STV's own drama and has still not appeared (other than the import tat) ... so STV's "great" alternative is cack ... also since you mentioned "drama" I see "Murder She Wrote" is back on ITV1 anyway - dont see STV broadcasting it at same time ... I wonder why that it is --- in place of their tat ...

Edit: UTV possibly do alot more than STV do .... but being honest STV does nothing really - programming made cheap - buying ITV dramas - cheap .... actually producing something worth watching (without changing) - pointless I already have walked and everytime I drop by its nothing more than cringe TV (their own programming especially)

Why would that make sense? Surely if they are going to show it then i'll save money by not actually buying the dvd box set. I mean how much (roughly) would it set me back anyway? I know there's 8 episodes in series 2, am i right? So i'd assume it would be around £20-£25 maybe? I had to do this when Channel Five stopped showing Prison Break cos Sky One bought the rights to season 3 and 4 which was annoying so we had to buy both seasons on dvd (mind you i did wait a while till they were cheaper online) so i saved a bit then. But i don't wanna wait too long b4 seeing series 2 of S&B cos i loved series 1 and just want to see it again as soon as possible.

Well STV had already done a "rush" with "downton abbey" - they never showed the first series until the run on of the next series began

I understand what you mean but lets be realistic here (fine hold off if you want on S2 and wait til its cheaper to buy on DVD) but look at the state of the scheduling already with STV ... they just completed "the fixer" from 3 odd year ago ... and supposedly "collision" will be soon over 5 weeks (not originally broadcast as shown - was daily) and plus look at the other missing drama not be shown ie "whitechapel" they kicked it off with ITV1 and that also has never seen the light of day again on STV (do we know when that will be on either? - sadly no) - but this is how crap STV really is and its not getting better its getting worse!

EDIT: regarding Series 2 missing at moment maybe STV will plan on doing another "downton" I wonder

Comment: Once again Poms In Paradise is dropped from the schedules! Interesting to notice that STV show Soccer Aid in anticipation of the upcoming charity game England v Rest Of The World. The question is - will they actually screen the game? If not, and in their own eyes is it not relevant to Scotland (so why show the preview/build up shows) - or if they do are they taking the view that Scotland is "rest of the world"

Curious question MrSirs so what was that episode of POMS STV actually air I think was last weekend? was it episode 2? ... if it and they have done this again STV may as well just drop it and move on since it cant be kept to a schedule!

regarding Soccer Aid I believe "rest of world" is Scotland to STV but then again if they do show "build ups" to this and decide not to show it be on their head yet again but hey ho this is STV remember they know whats best for the viewer (apparently)

STV will do their "aid" programme next .... called "donate to lorraine/michelle" .... they call the phone line to donate their clothes to Lorraine Kelly and donate their swallies .. sorry booze/food to Michelle .... should be good LOL

Might they do a Benidorm v Essex stunt? Just to remind ourselves - STV showed the quiz but not the programme! So I wouldn't put it past them to show the Soccer Aid build up programmes but not the match itself!

As for Poms - what a joke. No idea where they are with this programme!

Technically STV borrowed that programme from ITV2 (I am not 100% it has been on ITV1 - up for anyone to prove me wrong if it has been shown before broadcast on ITV2) anyway your still right why show a QUIZ related to a) Benidorm and B) TOWIE - when STV do not broadcast neither especially Benidorm

Soccer Aid - if STV jumps ship for match expect any viewers to possibly wait for replay on ITV2 (does not surprise me there!)

and POMS as you mention - expect next week EPISODE 1 lol .... but on serious side regarding this ... seems like STV have balls this programme up BIG TIME .... I wonder if STV is feeling the "pressure" and its getting to much for them trying to "catch up" with missing programmes and now "jumping episodes" or broadcasting programmes "fornightly" .... sorry I have no sympathy there with STV .... channel is already a laughing stock and with this latest saga no longer suprises me .... maybe STV should just pack their bags .... let the STV staff do the NEWS and let ITV1 take over full time and make it a decent channel as STV is the pits!

EDIT: expect the next ITV2 import be TOWIE next

further edit: just to reiterate I aint FOR ITV taking over STV in anyway but hell look at the state STV Central has left on the old Grampian TV area ... which is?? ... so even IF ITV did take over possibly we would get back to NORMALITY than the guff STV produces and "replaces" with

Oh well thats good to hear BUT still doesn't give STV the right still not to show Benidorm in place of its "scottishness" tat ... whoops sorry just in place of "cheap" tat

Good shout - we could start a whole new thread on the misdemeanors of BBC Scotland - like you it is very annoying when they chop and change, drop progs etc.. I wish they would say e.g. "and x programme will return to BBC2 on May 28th at 7pm".

BTW Are you related to Prosser Marine co. on Blochairn Road?! If so, you could send a boat over to STV and tell them to "sail down the Clyde".... "and don't come back".

Heck ITV done a similar show called BRITAINS BEST DISH and yes it COVERED Scotland but what did STV do? ... oh yeah thats right not show it at all (yet programme DID cover Scotland) - this was at one of the times "the chase" was not running but then we had that tat known as "the hour" - heck I would have rather watched "best dish" than "the hour" anyday
