STV has became a shambles of a station lets be brutally honest, they schedule programmes - that could have been networked at time of ITV1 but chose to show their "alternative" low budget programming instead

They have now jumped ship on Midsomer Murders now are broadcasting the NON John Nettles episodes as same time as ITV1 now and Benidorm is ALSO now being shown (let me guess got it on CHEAP but ITV1 are doing the courtesy of reshowing them again) .... STV has not helped in this farce they have made far worse and I will repeat this again .... the whole "irrelvance to Scotland" theory has been nothing more than a smoke screen duping the scottish public.....shame on STV

Comment: Not much to report, with Superstar pushing the late night schedules back all this week.

STV decides to show a repeat of Golden Balls - funny how they never did show the full series when originally aired at 5pm! On the same night (Wednesday) they follow the network and screen the same movie (Vertigo) at 2.10am.

I see Jaws The Revenge has made it to the STV shores! .... STV's scheduling is just bad - maybe should rename thei schedule "pick n mix" maybe ask Jamie Olivier to "Pucka" it up a bit .... or is STV planning a similar idea of 4Seven but its STV7 where they throw anything random that ITV have shown in past week but then fail to keep up with it and drops?

Does STV actually check their ads?? I noted that "first4lawyers" it says it applies to "england and wales ONLY" so why advertise an ad which the "scots" can't apply for?? ... by the way this ad has been running for sometime now and I would have clicked by now

They don't check much - for the past couple of days the voiceover at 5.30pm has announced "John McKay with the STV news". If it was John, he's had a sex change!

It's pretty much clear they don't I noticed this ad in particular and was going why advertise it if the ad is for England and Wales ONLY?

Heck luckily STV North has had no more "tech issues" so they bound to have been giving the kick up the butt! I just thought that STV would have picked up error in this ad in particular but seems like they haven't ..... fetches remote and flicks on 853 instead!

Comment: The Saturday showing of Goodwood's Festival was originally shown on ITV1 a couple of months back if memory serves me right, then repeated on ITV4!

Again this week STV follows ITV1 with their "through the night" film (Analyze This) during Wednesday/Thursday morning.

Well according to STV for saturday to help here regarding "tour de france" and schedule

SATURDAY: after the ITV News STV is showing 35 mins of "tour de france" (so roughly 2pm-2.35pm (james bond til 5pm) THEN guess .... another james bond film "the living daylights"

now on ITV SATURDAY as follows: ITV News THEN "tour de france" (the FULL 3 hours) .... 2-5pm

what is it with STV?? why show "35 mins" of "tour de france" what they going to tell the viewers when they "cut" for james bond i wonder?? - this has not been thought out properly - its shambolic! I admit I am no sport person but if any scottish viewer has been following it on ITV4 and has no access to ITV1 but have STV they are stuck! (oh yes forgot go and follow it on ITVPlayer - 1-0 ITV yet again!

I'll happily continue avoiding STV .... another cheap made programme has appeared "scots going for gold" .... pretty sure most people are sick of hearing the olympics and the only person im wanting to get gold is Usain Bolt oh yeah he aint a scot!

ITV cut to Bond as well!

CORRECTION: both STV/ITV are showing "tour de france" between 2-5pm no James Bond.....

but when it was down originally scheduled for 35 mins - who were they trying to kid? even ITV's own site tells you its on for 3 hours and STV said 35 mins - what was STV hoping for the cyclists to make a whizz round circuit in 35 mins?

EDIT: regarding the "tour de france" stv.tv's tv guide did say 35 mins originally compared to what ITV gave out which was more ACCURATE than STV gave out...

Comment: While Poms In Paradise enjoys a repeat run on ITV (Thursday night), STV viewers are still scratching their heads at the decision by STV not to complete the original run on Sundays - oh and Cornwall and Lewis too.... :sleep::sleep:

Good points kezo - Ridiculous seeing that guff (Nightshift)coming on so early at the weekend.

Poms - yes, stopped after a few episodes and can't even be bothered following ITV with the repeats.

Deep Blue Sea - Can't understand why they just can't follow ITV with their movies, would save them a lot of bother. And I wonder if STV viewers will ever see the Public Enemies premiere that was screened the other week?

I am more surprised STV close up shop at midnight with "nightshift" ironic though BBC/CH4 and possibly channel 5 run programming til 1am (ok 1am more less CH5 close up and return at 4-4.30am) but surprised STV do this ... by chance STV can we get some voiceover from the North East of Scotland by chance

POMS - very stupid decision STV have made on the repeats (courtesy of ITV) have not jumped on the opportunity for ITV to show it as yet STV have still to COMPLETE their take on it and as ended up where???? ... as far as I see "disappeared" off the STV radar....

Why does STV not do the "networked" films +30 mins later after "scotland the what?" as for "Public Enemies" either expect that on next week or if not 2 weeks? (possibly) ... but this is just the pits even I see it - STV has become more unbelievable to watch - how its still going beats me!

Out of curiousity why does STV spend so "cheaply" on its presentation of its own programming and advertising? It comes across as if they are that tight with money that everything suffers (from ITV programming/scheduling of shows and most of the time RELYING on ITV to do the "catch up" for STV viewers yet STV cant schedule a show properly) and as for its ads its one of the worst I have ever watched (these are ONES made by or for STV itself not broadcast on other networks) I would rather watch ads running on channel 5 or better yet hop over to E4 as the "STV" ads with a "scottish" accent is annoying as hell! (has to be some voiceover with a twang in it!)

One of the worst ads I have watched is that "debt advisory centre" ... woman speaking to the girl in "debt" - the woman speaking is "echoing" and sounds like she is speaking from a studio or something .... right I have a netbook and when I have sound it does not come out like that! (its not just that the sound of the "echo" is on the ad at the end - so surely you would become more of an in voice not an out voice at end of ad? - well you aint "chatting" to the girl your talking to the viewer) - wish STV would take more time in comissioning ads as they are just crap (decent one i'll give is the Seaton Estate ad - but the rest is just terrible) - no wonder the Grampian area suffers!

Love the fact most of their ads that get shown up north are "area" numbers for Glasgow (0141) yet I thought we were meant to have "local" advertisers for our area guess that too has gone and now rely on advertising all over scotland

that is all - still love STV for not covering motorsport in their slots ... oh I forgot STV focuses mostly on football (rugby has gone off radar) .... so generally speaking STV cover NO SPORT (apart from in news bulletins) I guess us scots must be boring S.O.B.s and yet I would have thought maybe STV would be able to +1 itself on covering other sport oh well shot myself in foot there!

Curious question: "nightwatch" how long has this been running on STV? I see ITV not running it (is STV just repeating the same episodes over and over again to fill a gap? - and the re-runs of piers morgan) .... also got to hand it to STV a film from the 80's "rambo" and ITV has "bourne identity" - If I was to take a guess on rambo or bourne I would go bourne!

I think the only other region that may still be showing Nightwatch is ITV Channel Islands, where legal issues prevent the network gambling programme from being simulcast

As for Piers Morgan Life Stories, it's also regular late night filler on ITV1

I just find it ironic that STV one minute "network" at night with ITV then decide to then bug up the schedule once more .... fair enough they dont want to show "gambling" but heck STV manage to pull in "money" from its viewers on "nightshift" .... isnt that gambling by "text"

No wonder STV is unbearable to watch its the same cack day in and day out - I wonder where the investment is in its programming or for that matter where IS the "missing" dramas I thought or was said on here "collision" was due to be shown .... I wonder when? Possibly they have decided to throw it in the basement .... STV is just a mess of a tv station and has lost its direction will it ever get back on "the yellow brick road" I doubt it but lets not hold our breath!
