Another update:-
Comment... CRUISE SHIP (Sun) manages to complete its run uninterrupted , bizarrely on Wednesday STV decides to show an England friendly football game (like ITV) - why this after not showing England friendlies for years?? and on Friday (5th) STV continues to show REAL HEROES whilst ITV starts a new series of Gino (no doubt STV will catch up with this in due course - or will they?!) THUR. 28TH:- STV - KIDS BEHIND BARS 9pm primetime , ITV - Prom Crazy. STV - SCOTLAND TONIGHT, JEREMY KYLE USA - then as Monday, ITV - Gambling/Tonight/Nightscreen - then as Monday. FRI. 29TH:- STV - FINDING SCOTLAND'S REAL HEROES 8pm primetime, ITV - Harbour Lives. STV - NIGHTSHIFT, ITV - Gambling/Jeremy Kyle. SAT. 30TH:- STV - NIGHTSHIFT, ITV - Gambling/Jeremy Kyle USA. SUN. 31ST:- STV - GINO'S ITALIAN ESCAPE (rpt), FINDING SCOTLAND'S REAL HEROES (rpt) - morning, ITV - River Monsters. STV - RAY MEARS, CRUISE SHIP (last ep.) - teatime, ITV - Tipping Point. STV - FILM: CLOSING THE RING, NIGHTSHIFT, NIGHTSCREEN, ITV - Prom Crazy/The Cube/The Store/Motorsport/Nightscreen/Jeremy Kyle. MON. 1ST:- STV - SCOTLAND TONIGHT, JEREMY KYLE USA, BRITAIN'S BEST BAKERY, JEREMY KYLE USA, NIGHTSCREEN, ITV - All Star Family Fortunes/Gambling/Jeremy Kyle USA/Nightscreen/Jeremy Kyle. TUE. 2ND:- STV - YES OR NO DEBATE primetime, ITV - Harry At 30/Gems TV. STV - SCOTLAND TONIGHT, HARRY AT 30, JEREMY KYLE USA - then as Monday, ITV - Yes or No Debate/Gambling - then as Monday. WED. 3RD:- STV - SCOTLAND TONIGHT, JEREMY KYLE USA - then as Monday, ITV - The Cube/Gambling/Motorsport/Nightscreen/Jeremy Kyle. THUR. 4TH:- STV - SCOTLAND TONIGHT, HARBOUR LIVES, YOU CANNOT BE SERIOUS, JEREMY KYLE USA - then as Monday, ITV - Harry At 30/Around The House/Gambling/Tonight/Jeremy Kyle USA/Nightscreen/Jeremy Kyle. FRI. 5TH:- STV - FINDING SCOTLAND'S REAL HEROES (4 of 5) primetime, ITV - Gino's Italian Escape - new series. STV - NIGHTSHIFT, ITV - Gambling/Jeremy Kyle USA. ![]() Nightscreen is just a quick get out clause so they can cut their overnight programming - they still run Nightshift (which that too has past its sell by date) obviously Prom Crazy/Gino will be catch up for STV viewers but possibly expect them AFTER the STV Appeal

The reason why STV are now showing the live England games is simple:-
ITV has the highlight rights to all Scotland's competitive games up to 2018. Since 2012 STV is now no longer a member of the ITV network, but is offically an affiliate broadcaster of ITV. Therefore ITV said to STV that the international football rights come as a package (ie Live England games and the Scottish Highlight programme). In theroy STV could pay the up-front fee for the whole package from ITV andd decide not to show the live England games, but if they are paying then it make commerical sense to broadcast them. |

Of course the argument could be that as STV does broadcast OPT OUTS then at some point in the schedule there will be a necessity to screen the replaced programme at another time/day, but the slapdash way STV have done this has been very amateurish.... We rarely get an indication of when the replaced programme will be shown - so when publicity for a new prog. appears in the tv mags and media (e.g GINO or GEMS TV (both next week) there isn't even a courteous "viewers in Scotland can enjoy GINO later next month"... Programmes interrupted and all over the schedule - CORNWALL being the best example of this - it took STV several months to get through a short run programme - it was everywhere on the schedule, afternoon, evening, morning on different days! COUNTRYWISE is another example of this. Again, no on air announcement of when the next episode is - treating viewers with contempt. Programmes not appearing - PUBLIC ENEMIES - yet to see this being premiered on STV, but premiered on ITV and repeated on I think ITV4. We assume GINO will be caught up by STV, but will it? What about GEMS TV documentary next week? What about the MOTORSPORT that ITV broadcasts every week? Or the TONIGHT repeats on ITV? STV are more interested in promoting their cheap, shoddy STV Glasgow channel tosh in their trailers and inserts, rolling out cheap shoddy homemade programmes when instead of making sure the main channel is slick and professional. And their ads for STV Player - a joke, pushing Rebus et al. as if they were made earlier this year! |

As mentioned before, NIGHTSCREEN is airing a lot earlier on STV, thereby as you say cutting their overnight output. Agree they will probably play catch up with GINO & PROM CRAZY.
Fair point re the football arrangements, however the agreement with ITV for STV taking their other non sports programming has been in place for a couple of years now, and still STV viewers have missed out on film premieres and other programmes (which are either aired at a later date, interrupted or all over the place) or not shown at all. So yes similar to your last line "if they are paying then it makes commercial sense to broadcast them" doesn't always apply to STVs output! And their ads for STV Player - a joke, pushing Rebus et al. as if they were made earlier this year! Public Enemies I believe it premiered on ITV and then Channel 4 broadcasted it later in the year but STV have never broadcast this film either much like when ITV put it on Inglourious B*sterds it too was later on Channel 4 so its kind of pointless relying on STV for "movie premieres" the way it use to as this lot are more than happy to close up shop and either run Nightshift/Nightscreen to save face STV's showing of Cornwall has to be one of the worst decisions this lot ever done with their scheduling, there was no thought process into at all but obviously STV's main goal was possibly to try and see how many viewers left the programme due to their shambolic scheduling (yet ITV ran it with much issue - surprise surprise) STV Player/STV Glasgow - that bugs me more to hell with this lot - 4K Giveaway has the "tagline" now of STV Glasgow (since when??), and as for advertising the channel STV Glasgow they need to get a grip yes it maybe a local channel to Glasgow but the rest of us in North can't get it so STOP advertising it (advertise it locally), STV Player ad yes "catch up on Rebus/Taggart" STV got anything new in that department or are they still flogging dead horses? Its 2014 MOVE ON from these shows and get CREATIVE other than your shoddy programming - also can we actually get FRESH TALENT from ALL OVER SCOTLAND than just Glasgow on this station, than again flogging dead horses around (same old faces) |

Friday 19th is likely to change if Scotland goes independent to show the SNP speech, They could also use STV Glasgow as a dumping ground for ITV stuff that isn't on the main channel.

You wait if Scotland gets independence.... I'd guess that ITV would stop providing program's to STV and would start its own channel with British programming, it's what I'd do if I was them...
.... STV will be left with euro news for breakfast and old American sitcom repeats.... Sister sister on a Saturday night anyone? |

STV will be staying the same - there won't be many changes and I believe if anything was meant to change the licence would be up in 2024-6 as far as I believe I admit STV ain't that great with programming but to come out with saying Euronews and old american sitcom repeats on where do you get that from? (may change after licence renewal but who knows) but for the present hardly anything will change no matter the vote The only change if and after the vote (if yes) is the BBC turning into some sort of SBC/SBS no idea how it will work but thats not til 2016 before we even know what will happen but again if its a no similar idea to STV not much will change |

I'll give STV the shadow of a doubt they will but knowing them as we have the STV Appeal/Real Heroes around the corner I can see disruption is possible (even if this includes repeating their opt out programming), just expect them to be scattered over the schedule soon

I dont know when there going to air it as Friday is soap night unless they move corrie to Sunday.
e.g 7pm Emmerdale 7.30 Stv Appeal this is what they did last year but itv was showing footy so it wasnt a big deal. Saturday and Sunday will be X factor live shows soon unless they air it on a Tuesday from either 7.30 or 8pm till 10 |

I could only find info on 2012 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/STV_Appeal No date for 2013 but according to link it aired on 7 September (2012)! It is later then this year so it probably been pushed back into October if anything I reckon |

If its like that then only one Corrie episode is missing but at same time do they really want to upset their soap fans on this? Plus a later showing at night of Corrie will annoy viewers (but if a viewer is lucky to get ITV on Sky/VM they will be able to follow with much issue) |

Expecting this as well, with absolutely ZERO on screen courteous announcements for the viewer. I will be amazed if they complete their respective runs uninterrupted!

I am sure something like that happened last year something was moved and I think it was Corrie(I can't be sure) but I don't remember Corrie being moved to a Sunday though!
Was there not one year it started at 8-10pm? If its like that then only one Corrie episode is missing but at same time do they really want to upset their soap fans on this? Plus a later showing at night of Corrie will annoy viewers (but if a viewer is lucky to get ITV on Sky/VM they will be able to follow with much issue) |

, bizarrely on Wednesday STV decides to show an England friendly football game (like ITV) -
why this after not showing England friendlies for years?? and on Friday (5th) STV continues to show REAL HEROES whilst ITV starts a new series of Gino (no doubt STV will catch up with this in due course - or will they?!)
