It will be shit either way.
A quick look at the stv site suggests it is a prerecord. Jackie Bird and Phil and Ally really do my box in |

I've got my sky box all set up to record Queen and AL on BBC1 NI as they are showing it in HD (as are BBC Wales) Every other BBC region will be showing this concert except BBC Scotland. We have to put up with 'Only An Excuse' which is ironic, because showing something different to the entire UK just because we are in Scotland really is only an excuse!

I dont know why BBC Scotland dont show the Queen + Adam Lambert concert after the BBC 1 Scotland programme at 12.30 am. I think next year Still Game will be back I actually think it might be announced at the end of the documentary on Hogmanay. So Hogmanay 2015 could be a new Still Game and Only an Excuse? which would be good |

I don't know why the Still Game live show wasn't kept back till tomorrow. I can only assume the BBC thought it was as bad as I thought it was and decided to show it earlier.

STV has been going downhill the last few years for the last new hours of Hogmanay and there Hogmanay type show has really gone downhill in the last 5 years or so.
BBC1 Scotland is still ok but even they are not the same as they used to be a few years ago. Jools' Hootenanny on BBC2 is worth a watch for a sort while every Hogmanay but I could not watch the whole show. Darren |

Was a small article in one of the papers a few days ago. I forget the exact numbers but head-to-head BBC One Scotland's Hogmanay show was something like 1.2 million viewers. STV's was 70,000.

Why does STV bother with a pre-recorded New Year's Eve programme at all instead of broadcasting a live show? UTV stopped doing its pre-recorded New Year's Eve show a few years ago and has, since 2009 (as far as I can remember) shows the ITV schedule on that night.

STV is an utter malignancy. Mind you it'd probably be even worse if there had been a "yes" vote.

Your not missing much on anything "local" as my area STV North has little output other than news - most of STV's programming these days comes from the Clyde (nothing more) Have you tried contacting both parties ITV (Borders)/STV see if they can come to a compromise on showing programming in your direction? |

They'd have bought up every distinctly Scottish programme going. It would be, ITV in England has Broadchurch, STV would be re running Dr Finlay's Casebook, then STV News at Ten and a double bill of Take The High Road.

Let alone this is a channel that has also "nightshift" in the small hours repeating dated shows/interviews and friggin flyovers of the 1980's-1990's! (cities have changed since then!), a text line which costs roughly 60-65p (must be making a profit there somewhere) and then let alone if "nightshift" is not on they are barely repeating some ITV programming shown earlier that night but they are more than happy to repeat the likes of Kyle/The Cube on then have "nightscreen" on - surely it be better for them to close at 12am and save all the trouble? (this also goes to ITV as well) its pathetic its 2015 and these channels look more like they have gone back to the 1995!

My Mother In Law watched it and she said it was dreadful. And no wonder - a prerecorded newsy style programme reminding us of the year instead of an upbeat live entertainment show - a no brainer!

I think you can manually tune in STV on your boxes (I don't know how) but I presume you'll find instructions somewhere on the net

Re The Nightshift, I think they should drop the f in the title as that would aptly depict this turd of a programme. I did catch some of it over the holidays - worse than awful - and can some clever clogs at STV please explain why they cover over guests names and other info. at the botom of the screen with their strapline for texting? Utterly dire, amateurish and dated CRAP

i know how to manually tune in to STV but itv has fall to put itv border Scotland on sky and freesat and fall to show STV programme such as STV's new years eve programme
If we want to place the blame game then its ITV/STV fault for removing their players from the PS3 but I read on ITV its off temporary so when its sorted I am putting it back on. Why do you want STV programming shown in your area you ain't missing much! Let alone I am hardly catered for by STV in general anyway only output from North is news rest of Scottish output is from Clyde and other ITV programming from London, I see STV has failed me then on not catering much to me for my area since it seems its output is mostly Glasgow - whats so local about my STV there then? I forgot no one cares - I wouldn't mind more "local" output for my area and no this does not mean another STV "local" channel |

![]() STV Nightshift programming consists of.... The Hour (the Stephen Jardine/MEchelle era) Teatime Classics (wtf? after midnight?) old STV cooking/interview shows (the videos when stretched look worse for wear!), they use to repeat some Weirs Way expect the recent reboot to appear soon! |

Maybe there was no deal to show some STV programming on ITV Border(s)? - ITV has not failed you on putting on ITV Border Scotland on Sky/Freesat - thats a carrier issue then not ITV as I say I think you have to manually tune the stations in on Sky and Freesat, As far as I know ITV Borders in 2014 done the Referendum morning show and that was worked with STV, again maybe you should contact the relevant parties and see if something can be changed in future?

As I do seem to recall that STV are still missing certain dramas that have never been broadcast since the debacle with ITV but do STV seem that bothered about it? Nope but yet they could get them on the cheap |

There is nothing that "local" about STV - I call STV more of a regional channel than a "local" channel, They cater more for Glasgow as at the same as ITV seem to cater more for London
