Week 1- Thoughts on BB13?
So what does everyone think of the first week of BB13 and how things have been shaping up?
Personally, I've found it to be pretty enjoyable so far: 1. I've enjoyed the pairs twist. I think it adds a nice dynamic to the start of the game and the addition of the golden key has been interesting. I would say finishing it around final 10 would be good though, as any longer and I'd probably get frustrated with it. 2. I like most of the cast with only one or two people I don't, which makes a difference. 3. It's good to see someone I dislike evicted first for a change ![]() 4. Things seem to be going down a predictable route, but I'll give it the benefit of the doubt for now as nearly every season has had a predictable first few weeks. 5. I do think the main shows have been way to veteran-centric. The amount of Jeff and Brendon has been particularly annoying, but I guess it's to be expected. I don;t know how they managed to make Dick leaving all about Jeff, but there you go. 6. I've also been annoyed with the increasing vapidness of the DR visits, especially as I'm watching BB3 again right now. It only seems to be used for narration purposes or for over-rehearsed catchphrases or things that are obvious anyway, which is annoying. For example, how many times did Keith need to say "see ya Porsche! You're out the door!" or some slight variation on Wednesdays episode? Anyway, overall I'd rate this week GOOD as it has shown promise and could be quite a good season. As long as it doesn't fall into the trap of season long predictability like BB12 and we get some good drama along the way. As well as more equal editing. I'd love to see the DR sessions become more natural like they used to be, but that's probably too much to ask. |

I know what you mean about the DR stuff..
It does not seem that it has a place in the show,, seems to be way down the list.. Unlike the DR in the UK version, which has given the UK show some of it's most memorable moments.. (Nikki Grahame springs to mind).. you just can't stage footage like that.. But it does not seem if the US version will give the room a chance.. Someone once said "if you build it, they will come" .. But if the door is locked nobody can enter.. http://www.virginmedia.com/tvradio/b.../img/img_8.jpg |

Its Okay, I'm just sick of the Vets dominating the game and getting rid of the interesting characters.
I also find Jeff and Jordan so overated. They are boring. |

Definetely think it has alot more to offer. The programme in general just has more of a natural feel for BB3. There was a lot more focus on the relationships and friendships in the house which is nice to watch. Plus by the end of the 2nd week everyone had had a little section in the show about them and what the others were thinking about them up to that point. That's something they don't really do now that I miss. ...and dear lord, that picture gave me a bit of a fright when I opened it ![]() Quote:

The highlights shows really have gone overload on him and I really dislike when one person dominates airtime. Jordan's been pretty UTR so far, but Jeff is leaning towards the wrong side of my patience thanks to editing ![]() Hoping the newbies get a little more airtime next week. |

So far, GOOD.
Helped by the fact that the first eviction went the way I wanted it, even though Keith did provide some first week highlights. Trying to rape the cows. "I'm throwing the veto and Porsche has no idea" "I'm throwing the veto and Keith has no idea" ![]() Agreeing about the DR clips. Why do we always need to see them telling us stuff that we can see for ourselves :/ I'm supporting the vets, so I'm enjoying that they have all the power. Could've done with a bit more of Rachel being amazing though

As first weeks go, I think I'd only rate it only behind Big Brother 10's epic Brian week, and Big Brother 11's amazing start, with Lydia stabbing everyone in the back, Braden seeming doomed, and then Jordan and Laura seemingly pulling it back, only to be stabbed in the back by Ronnie.
I agree the shows seem to feature Brendon and Jeff far to heavily, but I still feel we know the newcomers well enough. I'm glad Jordan won the second HoH too - I'd hate for the vets to just get wiped out - its far more exciting to see the newcomers scramble, than to see them stick together and pick off the vets one by one. Plus, besides Dominic, the new men aren't that interesting. Lawon just screeches about how awesome everything is, Adam just growls about bacon, and Keith.. Keith was just an epic failure, who made for a wonderful first boot, but had no lasting value. |

It's ok. I hated the twist of bring back the veterans
I want to see new people. Not boring Jeff and Jordan or Brendan and Rachel. At least Dick was good but sadly he's left. |

I would say it's good so far.
I think most of the cast are great, but I wish they were all newbs. Do an All Stars season or a season with a 100% brand new cast, but don't mix the two. And whilst I like the idea of the Golden Key, there are some parts of the twist that I don't like, and which I think favour Grodner's pets way too much. For a start, everyone is forced to play in pairs - whilst the veterans get to play with someone they know and trust, the newbs are thrown into a pair with someone they've just met. Also, I don't like how the POV works. If they play as individuals for the HOH, then why not for the POV? If there's a pair where one person wants to throw the competition, then the other person is pretty much screwed and can do nothing to protect themselves. This will never be a problem for the veterans though, since they are all paired with someone they know and trust, they will always agree on whether to throw the competition or not, or whether to use the POV or not if they win it. Some of Grodner's pets cried and moaned that it was "unfair" when Dick left, but they don't realise how easy they have it - the newbs should be complaining about unfairness. As I said though, I do like the Golden Key idea, but they shouldn't have paired them up. The Golden Key would still work if they were playing as individuals - just give it to whoever survives the eviction vote that week. I've rambled a bit, but basically I do think it will be a good season, but the thing that stops it being great so far is pairs twist and mixing new players with returning players. |

The POV is very dumb planning. They should have seen that one of the pair on the block will throw it if they know they have the votes coming. I think the golden key is a good idea, they just should have let them compete for the veto individually. |

voted ok mainly because of brenchel. they have provided alot of entertainment so far or it would of been a bad vote.
the newbies suck so bad, if it wasn't for the vets i would be struggling to even continue watching. i actually like danielle this season which is shocking cuz i hated her so much before. and i like jeff/jordan. |
