A space for all us PF lovers (and I know there are a few on DS) to pay homage to the greatest band of the 20th Century.

Favourite albums, concerts etc.

Nothing much more to say other than Mr Gilmour is the greatest living guitarist and massively underated.

When I first played 'Dark Side of the Moon' I thought 'f- me, this must have sounded like it was from the future' . Couldn't believe it was an album from 1973.

I rather like their earlier album 'Meddle'

One of my greatest regrets is never having had the opportunity to see PF.
I used to think they had managed to make a unique sound out of what to my untutored ear was very simple tunes. However, I have since discovered from actual guitarists that they are, in fact, deceptively difficult to get right.
I could happily listen to Echoes on repeat all day.

i was fortunate to see floyd once, and it was the last time they ever played together and ever will unfortunately

i just wished i could have saw them play some of the earlier gigs before roger left the band. imagine dark side of the moon, wish you were here, animals and the wall live in the flesh. at least there are plenty of bootlegs, but it's not the same

Saw them at the old Empire Pool in Wembley in about 1975 where they performed the whole of Dark Side of the Moon.

Great show.

Slow learner that I am It took me a while to get into floyd, so unfortunately never seen em live. Though after a seperation I got my Yam and got hooked up with a bike crew then got my education!
Saw Aussie floyd at the Farmyard bike rally in N. Yorks, a rare warm summer evening, beer and some awesome Floyd surrounding and going through your body,Heaven.
Comfortably numb, what an anthem, it was that good my mate got emotional, soft lad, so much for hard ass bikers
At the Broadfield in Sheffield i've been impressed with a band called Top Gun who do a good cover of Comfortably numb, bless the tribute bands for slow learners like me!

They are fantastic. Luckily they are back in Sheffield next year and fortunately not in the arena. It should be a good gig!

I always say that DSOTM is my favourite album of all time, but then I listen to WYWH again and I'm not so sure... Stunning, both.
Just wish I'd had the chance to see them live.
I've never felt the urge to see a tribute band before as that whole scene just seeems so karaoke-ish, but given some of the comments on here perhaps I should.

Really AlexR they are not your run of the mill club tribute band. The act is so polished. infact Gilmour had them perform a gig for his brithday.

I really recommend you to go as even my old man was blown away by them and he is not a fan of tribute acts. He even admitted they were like the real thing.

100% back you up on this, my mates the "proper rocker" who got emotional they were that good, just make sure you go to a decent venue to soak in the atmosphere, hopefully the City hall will work for us Yorkshire folk next year.

Amazon have sent me The Wall Immersion set.

I now own 9 Pink Floyd marbles, which is quite frankly more than I know what to do with.

I saw them three times..

Wembley Stadium - 1988
London Arena - 1989
Earl's Court - 1994
In terms of sheer spectacle the Wembley Stadium show is still the best I've ever seen, only Rammstein come close.

What puts me off seeing Australian Pink Floyd is their gigs cost considerably more than I ever paid to see the "original" band!
