Final 2

Do you think Sugar picked his partner immediately from after the interviews? I ask this because usually he has the final 2 employed for a good few months, before making a decision. This time it would be different as he is picking a partner not an apprentice, so what do you think?

I've been wondering this as well. I think once he's narrowed it down to two, LS will then go through each business plan with a very fine toothcomb, possibly conducting his own research into the viability of the proposals etc., before making a decision.

LS would be foolish to base his decision solely on what his mates tell him from the interviews. I'm sure he trusts them, but if it were my 250k, I'd want to check every detail personally before investing.

They haven't been working for him this time in the gap as they' ve all been doing other jobs but I do think he uses this time to go through things very carefully and crunch all the numbers before he decides.

Picture from the Sunday Telegraph today, only Jim and Susan. Is it a spoiler?

The interview is the final test, the last in a long series of ordeals. As there is no further mechanism to provide additional information there is nowt to wait for. As Elvis would say,

It's now or never,
Show me your dough,
Point not that finger,
Say green for go.

To mor row....
Will be too late,
It's now or never,
This chance won't wait.

I think he reserves the right to change his mind up until the last moment. He'd change it if the candidate got involved in some unacceptable scandal. I suspect he might also change it if he sees something he doesn't like in the task footage (which he doesn't see until late - probably not long before You're Fired is filmed, and possible he just watches it on TV like the rest of us), or if the public react strongly to the broadcast. For example, if Katie hadn't quit in series 3, he might have decided she was not a suitable winner after seeing how the public reacted to all her pieces to camera (about wanting to run Adam over etc).

Apart from that, he probably has a pretty definite idea who he wants immediately after the interviews. Maybe even before, although you can never know when someone will come a cropper.
