I've got two different makes of 2GB memory sticks (Fat32) and a Humax-HDR 500GB.

I understand the process of copying to the memory sticks, but it doesn't seem to work...

When I copy it it EXTREMELY slow at every stage and never gets to completion, even for a 5 minute programme. I end up having to reboot the machine.

Is this a known problem, or are both my memory sticks duff?

Any other ideas?

Provided the box recognises the stick then usb works every time on my hdr. It's not particulary fast, HD material to a 1TB drive is about 4 times real speed. A 1HR BBC-HD recording takes about 15 mins. I normally set up a list using edit mode start the transfer and press the off button. The hdr will go into sby after the transfers are complete. Can you try another stick or better still a FAT32 or EXT3 USB real HDD.

A factory reset might help (make a note of your recording reservations first as you will need to re-enter them)
