no replies for Midge Ure?

well, I can't really comment on his music as I only really know that Vienna song (which I used to think was an ode to Rigbsy's cat out of Rising Damp) and that Band Aid song but I did have a rather weird dream about him a few weeks ago, where we were having an affair. I can't say I find him particularly attractive so it was a bit of a weird one (probably brought about by his appearance on PSTOS). But from what I remember, he was great in the sack though.

Well he had been in several successful bands had a succesfull solo career, co wrote the theme tune to Totp and wrote "Do they know its xmas"

Not a bad record really.

My favourite song of his is "If i was" but i like a lot of the Ultravox stuff like "Still" and "Reap the wild wind".

I think when people think of the 80's they think of Duran Duran and Spandau ballet etc.. but Ultravox were just as successful as any of them.

I met Midge Ure once when he was doing a tour and came to Peterborough, He was cool but didn't sing too many of his hits we all know. Dancing With Tears In My Eyes was in the set list though. Great gig

I have a few Midge Ure albums and they're of questionable quality, in particular the abysmal Move Me.

However I'll always have a soft spot for his Breathe album. Especially Guns And Arrows.

A bit inconsistent is our Midge. Capable of magic though.

Midge was in boy band Slik and post-punk band the Rich Kids before joining Ultravox after John Foxx quit the band.

He was also a member of Visage, worked with Phil Lynott (Yellow Pearl), Japan's Mick Karn (After a Fashion), went solo (starting with a cover of Tom Rush song No Regrets) and co-created the Band Aid / Live Aid thing with Bob Geldof (co-writing Do They Know It's Christmas).

I've kind of lost touch with what he's been doing for the last 20 years but he was a very big part of my childhood.
