Mainstream Prime-Time Music Show Needed to Help Establish British Artists?
Looking at the charts over the past few years, one thing that strikes me is the number of american and non-british artists that occupy the singles and albums charts.
I think we need a mainstream prime-time music show on on of the main channels to promote and establish british artists. And not have them wait for some one to perform one of their songs on the X Factor to bring them into the limelight |

It's not a good idea, because the same people that criticize the X Factor artists would also criticize artists who appear on the show "Oh, they're only famous because they appeared on the show", "Oh, they wouldn't have gotten #1 if they didn't go on there", and so on.
The artists that appear on the show wouldn't be seen as credible, just in the same way as the X Factor artists. I'd definitely watch though. But I think people would start getting pissed off when the #1 every week is an artist who performed on the show. |

They did that with Sky One and axed it.
I love the idea. |

Yeah, I'd love a show like that. I'd definitely watch. I think the artists that get famous through the show would get criticized for having an easy way to fame, but from a personal perspective, I'd really like that.
