Skype - Autorecharge "error"
I use Skype for cheap text messages and topped up with a tenner a couple of weeks ago. Last week I got an email saying I had just been autorecharged £25 as my balance was down to £2.
First my balance was over £10 and secondly I am not signed up for auto recharge. Skype are allegedly refunding this but a word of advice for Skype users - delete your card details manually even after a one off top up. I wonder if this has happenned to anyone else?

Update - The account was illegally accessed and calls made to Egypt and Indonesia using up my £10.
![]() Fortunately my card has the added protection of a secondary password. Regardless I have cancelled it and asked for a new one. Bear in mind that the Skype payment process automatically defaults to autorecharge every time you go into a payment screen. |
