Hi,

I'm just wondering where the Doctor gets his hair cut? Do you think he has a special room in the Tardis which cuts his hair? Or do you reckon he goes someone and has it done?

This has always confused me!

More importantly, does the Doctor wash...or sleep?

I'd like to think that he would pop into the barbers with the swivel, up and down chairs on a whim.

Back in the eighties, before the internet, when Who fandom was confined to local group meetings and writing in to the fanzines, we'd have lengthy, convoluted discussions in which we'd pontificate on the dating of UNIT stories or theorize about how the TARDIS's dimensional transcendentalism actually worked. Those were great days to be a Doctor Who fan.

Now we have 'where does the Doctor get his hair cut'...

The big question isn't where - it's why.

Why does this alien time traveller - hundreds of years old and known throught the universe - always have such a trendy, human hairstyle?

Is it possible that the truth is somewhat the reverse of our perception - that the Doctor has been influencing humans across generations? Have we - humans - been subconciously copying Gallifreyan sensibilities and fashions and does that mean that the Doctor is no better than the Silence?

It's a plot I tell you - a great big intergalactic plot!!! We are being treated like guinea-pigs and it's time to fight back. I've done my bit - I've done what the Doctor has never been able to do by being stupid, bald and ugly. It was a difficult decision but I had to make a stand.

What will you do to fight this menace???

For my part, I rarely cut my hair until it goes below shoulder length and haven't shaved since 1988. I'm doing my bit.

I will continue to indulge in large quantities of alcohol, destroying as many brain cells as possible.

There could be another phone around the other side of the tardis with a different noise.

Maybe a knocking noise.

Knock Knock.

Perhaps it was Barber(ah) Wright !

Actually in the first Doctor Who novel there is a scene where Ian gets a shave and a haircut from one of The Doctors machines inside the Tardis.
