Seems to me LAS knew about Tom before the show. It is the only reason for what must be the most underserving win ever in TV history. Terrible as the PM (in all of every one single task), clueless when he wasn't. He was a lamb being led by lions at times. His business plan was woeful (although tbf the other 3's plans were absolutely ATROCIOUS!!!), he just had no idea. Karren said he would have to be managed heavily because he basically held Helen's hand the whole way through the process....and yet he is the winner What was LAS saying about not doing all the hard work himself?

Week after week his inept performances were overlooked because of other people's CVs (Sugar's trump card when he needs to save someone else), i still can't believe he wasn't fired for rocks papers scissors to decide a pitch.

I do think that Alan had an idea that he wanted Tom to win from the start, but not on the same scale as you think he did, but I do think Tom got favourable treatment upon the others...

Sir Alan can obviously see the qualities Tom possesses to do well in real life businesses, and Tom explained how he managed to get his product seen to by Walmart.

It doesn't matter if you can't see Tom's potential to do well with Sir Alan. All that matters is Sir Alan can.
As he said, "I didn't know you had it in you", Tom saved one of his proudest moments for last.

He has experience in business and is a lovely person to match, I couldn't be happier for him.
