I've recently got the FOXSAT-HDR which is fantastic.

However, I do tend to schedule it to record 2 channels at the same time - which is normally fine.

However, I sometimes get a pop-up message about recording conflict. Which is unexpected. I understand that this can be because maybe one of the currently recording programmes is overrunning, while the next scheduled recording is about to start. So the message pop's up.

But the manual doesn't explain what I need to do, or what are the options.

It just seems to display a list of programmes with lines connecting them.

Can sometime explain what is being displayed, what do I do next to resolve the conflct? There is no mention of what to do in the manual.

PS - I got into major trouble last night with the wife, when i got the recording conflict message. I pressed the "exit" button, and the apprentice final didn't record

If you do nothing the default action is to complete the current recording before starting the second. If the first recording is from ITV it's normally OK to stop the ITV recording because the stop flag is normally sent after the adverts after the programme finishes.

Sometimes you will get the message because the channel you are currently viewing won't be available with the combination of two recordings you are about to start.

I used to often press the wrong button and i like to thinki that if it happens to a would be nerd like me..
what chance has the general public got?
There is just no time to read the message properly if one has got to the denoument of a detective thriller..
let alone consider the logic and the diagram..
I never see such now as the Panny TV informs me ever so discretely.in pastel shades.. from 3 minutes onwards..of updates on the next program to record and tells me how to proceed.. then another rmessage at 2 minutes etc..further it tells me very discretely if the 'Auto switch-off' is due to operate.. even if we are watching a program on the more than a decade old Sky Box..
The Humax blue yellow conflict diagram is akin to the primitive early Sky messages.I bet it has been cursed by thousands....

Basically just ignore it, 99 times out of a 100 it will get it right, as it does if you are not around to even read the message.
It's not usually around very long because the conflict has resolved itself. Now all you need to worry about is the failed recording icon which normally just means the first few seconds of the recording is missing.

I agree with you absolutely Graham.. so what purpose does it serve?
I guess 95% or more of the viewers do just as you say.. and yet are just a little bit troubled that their set is playing up and may need mending..
I doubt anyone can switch from.. 'Immersion in a program' to decide what any message is about.. let alone decipher the Logic diagram..

I find it handy if I know that I have an ITV recording and a follow up using the same tuner. Basically speedy gonzales just cancells the ITV recording.

What a pity that Speedy Gonzalez cannot do the same thing when reasonable people press Guide

I think I am reasonable. Never use the guide button except in exceptional cicumstances. Never have since finding the better alternative back in 2008.

Logic dictates that your preference in 2008 is now an even better method than it was..
as heretofore there was no Wait at all when one pressed Guide..

Must dash off a memo to Panny..and Technika..as they appear to have bamboozled the BSI as neither have a 'Schedule' Button.

Back in 2008, the incentive was simply that you could set a recording without losing track of what is happening on the live TV channel you happen to be viewing. The same reasoning applies today. Just like you could on my topfield pvr.
