I've now tried registering to get the channels free for February but I still get the above problems.

Interestingly the i-can Easy is not on the list of suitable equipment so perhaps it does not work on Vision. Strange it works on CCTV if that is the case.

To be honest I can't see this lasting. The market is fairly small and those that might be interested probably have a suitable satellite setup anyway where most of the channels are FTA.
Then there is the fact that it eats into your broadband allowance pretty fast.

What can we do, if your Freeview HD box cannot receive these channels ?

110 - "Your device currently does not support this Freeview HD Service"
111 - "Your device currently does not support this Freeview HD Service"
112 - Loop video repeating itself
113 onwards - "New Freeview HD channel coming soon"

Manufacturer has insisted it does not intend to provide any future support to this product !..........

Was that a rhetorical question?

If you want an answer the only possible one is "Get a box that does or do without those channels".

Does anyone know if these knew "IPTV" channels would work on an HTPC? AFAIK they work using MHEG5 and there's no way to get MHEG5 on an HTPC. Certainly not with MediaPortal, which I use, but I seem to remember it has an IPTV option so maybe the channels can be added manually using that?

Which boxes are capable of receiving these ?

Freeview's website doesn't mention these channels.

That's because Vision TV Network is nothing to do the Freeview terrestrial service. They are just piggybacking onto the web capabilities of modern smart TVs (which have Freeview HD) and Freeview HD boxes.

Here's Vision TV Network's own list: http://www.visiontvnetwork.co.uk/home/devices

To be fair, not all of us can put up satellite dishes where we live.. The Turkish package looks particularly enticing to me.. I'll give it a go soon

Hi there, I also have a sony TV(kdl40nx723) and experience the same problem, however if you either enter the channel a second time by typing in the number 110 on the remote or using the channel up and down on the remote it should kick in (see post 342 and 346)

Damn, forgot to add:

does anyone have the sony PVR recorder SVR-HTD500, as when I go to these new IPTV stations via this PVR i get audio but no video, just a blank black screen. Can any others confirm.

Cheers

Been confirmed in the dedicated thread that the Technica boxes sold in Tesco will not work with these channels.

So kind of false advertising by stating its a 'Freeview HD Service' coming soon......

Not really, as the service needs a box built to the latest Freeview HD spec in order to work. Not that it really matters in my view given the content (which is of no interest to me whatsoever, so it's a highly subjective viewpoint), the lack of publicity, the restricted range of boxes that support it, and then very narrow target groups.

Do you know when or if the Humax boxes will work with these services, I have a Humax Fox-T2 (non-recordable) box and I would like to view these services?

Is it possible for Humax to release a Software/Firmware update so we can use these services, or do we need to replace the box?

From the very post that yuu quoted:

Quote:

The DigitalStream box required a Beta firmware update to make it fully functional (a fix for the CH112 Audio Codec Broadcast Error), so maybe Humax will, in the fullness of time, do the same. But, being Humax (yes, I had one before switching to the DS), don't hold your breath.

II have just phoned Humax about this matter and they did not know anything about this and they said that if they find out anything they will phone me back

So if you want to view this channels then get a Technika 8320 box or a TVonics HD DVR box, as per the list on this page and on Vision Networks website,
in addition some of Sony TVs and Panasonic TVs also can have these channels, my advice is check the lists before you buy

Hello,

Is there a new version at all

In addition, everytime I try to put it on Vision on Freeview Channel 110 it keeps turning itself off, I cannot acces the following channels 110-116

I have also put the Updates to Automatic to get the latest version

Anyone able to help me?

Thanks in advance

Humax responded very quickly when I emailed there uksupport address from the Contact Us page but only to say:

"We will forward these details on for review but at present cannot confirm if new software will support new players like 4OD and other similar services.

Skyplayer is still in development."

So no news but at least they reply...

Apologies if I have missed this (and it has already been posted) but happened by chance to select Sports Tonight (ch 112) on my Panasonic G20 and discovered that it now works.

For the first few seconds the video and audio are slightly out of sync, then the video will momentarily pause before continuing with the video and audio now in sync.

So it does. I see they've completely changed it too, as it has "stats" and "tweets" around the outside, so the video is now only quarter-screen (maybe that is what fixed it?). The other channels are still saying they are not compatible, except 116 (Racing UK) which doesn't say it is incompatible, but I don't have a login to actually test it.

Ch 117 (The Space), whilst not one of Connect's channels, is still annoying me by saying it isn't compatible even though I've seen it working

Assuming you have a G20 as well, The Space is also available on Freesat and is enabled on the G20.

Actually I have an S20, which is pretty much the same, but without a Freesat tuner.

The G20 is a bedroom TV, but we also have an S30 in the living room and all the Freeview IPTV services work fine on that.
