Mercury Prize Nominations.
They're announced at 11:30am today... Any predictions?
I reckon PJ Harvey and Adele are certain to be nominated... I'd also bet on Wild Beasts, Metronomy, Anna Calvi and James Blake. |

I think Polly Harvey may get it, the one's you highlighted will probably all make the final list, along with The Arctic Monkeys.

What a surprise - they left Adele's nom until last just to give it an air of tension, lol.

Anna Calvi - 'Anna Calvi'
Elbow - 'Build A Rocket Boys!' James Blake - 'James Blake' Katy B - 'On A Mission' Metronomy - 'The English Riviera' Tinie Tempah - 'Disc-Overy' PJ Harvey - 'Let England Shake' Gwilym Simcock - 'Good Days At Schloss Elmau' Everything Everything - 'Man Alive' Ghostpoet - 'Peanut Butter Blues & Melancholy Jam' King Creosote and Jon Hopkins - 'Diamond Mine' Adele - '21' No Wild Beasts or Radiohead. Overall the list seems unsurprising and underwhelming... just as usual. |

I really don't get the Elbow nomination... Their album was distinctly average IMO!

Aww. I wanted The Naked And Famous to get a nomination =(.
A Metronomy, Elbow, PJ Harvey or James Blake victory would please me... Adele or TT winning would be a HUGE anti-climax for me. |

I am a recently converted PJ Harvey fan after watching videos on the NME channel that have aired! I love her!
Let England Shake sounds like it impressive from reviews and what i have heard, some strong nominations this year too

It should go to PJ Harvey imo but it wouldn't surprise me if they gave it to a new young'un like James Blake or Katy B. They usually like to do that rather than give it to an established artist (Elbow aside) and it makes sense really. PJ Harvey doesn't need the award and probably doesn't care if she wins or not.

Really really hope Katy B gets it.
James Blake's music is an absolute mess, it's just noise, literally. How he can be considered a musician is beyond me. |

Hope Katy B gets it!
But I think Adele might snatch it, still would be happy, she seems lovely as well. BUT KATY B! WOO |

As great as Let England Shake is they won't give it to PJ Harvey since she's already won it once. The James Blake album (especially coming from his past EPs) is quite frankly a load of overhyped sh-te and I really couldn't think of anything duller than 21. If PJ Harvey isn't going to win it then give it to Metronomy or Ghostpoet, or even Katy B. Anyone but Adele and James Blake anyway.

Is this the first album Alex Turner has been involved in that hasn't been nominated??
