Gooey cookies
MICH78

Does anyone have a tip for baking really gooey/extra soft in the middle cookies?

I have googled some recipies, but the ingredients listed are those of a standard cookie recipie. Other than baking the cookies for less time, i'm not sure how to get them gooey in the middle.

Any advice please?

More syrup might be a good idea, i'm definitely going to do a couple of trial runs and cook them for less each time.

Thanks for the recipie, that looks like a nice one.

I'm hoping to bake ones like Ben's Cookies, if anyone here as tried them. They have a shop in Covent Garden and a few other places in central London. They are almost like half cookie/half cake.

I'd go with the other suggestions too. I think a lot to do with it is how long you bake them for. If they are slightly underdone they will be soft and hopefully chewy. There is nothing worse than an overccooked dry cookie.

I made some honey oatmeal cookies a while back and I made them too big and had the oven too hot. Consequently they were gooey in the middle but still tasted good.

So try doing that

Thanks, that's quite a good idea to make them bigger and give them a blast of heat, so they crisp on the outside but stay gooey -or basically, uncooked, in the middle

You have to be careful as you don't want to brown them too much or you get a burnt bitter honey flavour.
