There have been SOOOO many threads about albums songs that the artists should have released and I thought I should do the opposite. So, in your opinion, which singles were bad choices and should have never been released??

The criteria that each one is going to use may vary.A bad single choice could be all about the music (if you didn't like the song, then you can call it a bad choice) or it could also depend on the song's chart performance or critical reception (you may consider a song to be a bad single choice simply because it underperformed/flopped)

Lady Gaga - Alejandro.

I love it and all but why pick that over Monster or Dance In The Dark?

Personally get Outta My Way from Kylies Aphrodite i think was a weaker song to follow up All The Lovers, Put Your Hands Up, the title song or Cupid Boy would have been stronger.

Hold It Against Me, out of all the songs that would have made a stronger lead single the label chose that! I like it but after owning the album....there is bigger!

Personally i feel Miles Away should have been released second from Madonnas Hard Candy over give It 2 Me as that would have been massive and then give It 2 Me which was still a hit.

Not Myself Tonight, out of all the hits that could have lead Bionic, that one was minimalistic it is a solid production but glam, Monday Morning, Birds of Prey, Desnudate and I Am would have been stronger choices IMO

All of Gaga's songs, Cher Lloyd's nursey rhyme Swagger Jagger, Jessie J's I Do It Like A Dude and Nobody's perfect, Nicki Minaj Super Bass, LMFAO Shuffle, Black Eyed Peas - Don't Stop the Party, Cheryl Cole songs............basically most of the stuff that's in the chart atm and been released this year. It really has been a very bad year for music, it's been rubbish, yet people will still follow the generic boring music that is style over substance or by singers who have to rely on autotune and studio effects to make their voices sound good and mask over the fact that they can't sing! If you can't sing, get another job. I don't know anything about car mechanics, so should I be a mechanic? no, exactly.

Definitely Run The World (Girls)- Beyonce.
Firstly, the song isn't really THAT bad. It just wasn't good enough to be the lead single from a hyped ''comeback'' by her. I don't even know why they went ahead with it. It doesn't represent the album at all and I bet people thought the album was going to suck after they heard it, which is far from the truth!

atleast shes back on track now with End Of Time (which should have been the lead) being the 3rd single

Rihanna- Rockstar 101 and Shut Up and Drive. Both underwhelming.

I think Britney's Break The Ice was an awful choice and one of the weakest from the Blackout album.

Rihanna's Shut Up and Drive.

I likes Break the Ice as a song, but hate cartoon videos. They just smack of "they couldn't be bothered to turn up".

Didn't understand releasing Radar from the Circus album either, especially as it was on Blackout too.

I've thought about it too, but none of the other tracks on FF gives me a lead single vibe. Now TTWE, that WAS a bad choice!

I agree 100%.NMT is one of my favorite Christina songs, but it shouldn't have been released as a (lead) single.A song with such short verses that lasts barely over 2 mins and then it has a 50-second instrumental just to get to 3 minutes is not single material.Still LOVE it, though.

I think that too.

RE: Radar - I was expecting a better video for that song. I don't think the song sounds right on Circus, whereas it fits in perfectly with Blackout.

ETA - I'm sure I read somewhere that Radar was written on the condition that it would be released. As it wasn't released from Blackout they had to put it on Circus...

Yes I agree. It's very 'Blackout'. It should've been released during that era with and AMAZING video. Ah well.

I'm probably going to be controversial here but any Coldplay track, so mundane.

Also, Bounce - Calvin Harris ... just no.

Jason Derulo - Don't wanna go Home, now although it's a catchy tune, it's 2 well known songs (badly) mixed together with him singing his name over the top!

There is some shocking music about at the moment with all the auto tune and electro synths on the tracks.

Beyonce's Run the world. I like it a tiny bit more now but it doesn't represent the album at all. It's so out of synch with the album.

Oh by the way, Radar was only included on Circus and released because they signed a contract promising they would release it to the producers. But yeah, it was a bit of mess regarding that song. The video is awful though.

I feel you.I said the same thing on another thread some time ago, that I don't listen to this song a lot because of what happened after the video shoot.
But then again, if her label weren't so freaking mean and had given her a private jet (everyone and their mother had one to travel and tour, even back then) this would have never occured.

R.I.P. Aaliyah

Gaga said Money Honey is her least favourite song she's ever recorded.

Off topic I know but I like Money Honey! It's my most played song on my iTunes from The Fame Monster!
