Can anyone identify this "Captain America" storyline?
Okay, I was hoping someone could help me with this.
Years ago, when I was small, (early '80s) my mother bought me an issue of "Captain America" from a jumble sale in West Cork. The story opening with Cap looking down from a hill at a train or car crash. He then encountered Nick Fury, who took him on a plane when they arrived at a city. Cap and Nick meet a scientist who sat Captain down in a machine, but something went wrong and the cliffhanger was Captain sitting unconcious in a chair while Nick and the scientist looked on in dismay. I also remember there being another scene in that issue where this fat villain (Kingpin?) had a woman zapped and turned to ashes. Anyone know which Captain American storyline this was part of, and which issue it was?

One other thing I remember from that issue was that it had an ad for "Strange Tales- featuring
Doctor Strange" in it. This would place it between 1968 and 1976, when Marvel ceased publishing ST. I think there was also another strip in the comic, an non-superhero one about baseball. So, anyone recognise the CA storyline? |

No probs, ComicVine is an excellent site for sorting this kind of question out so just keep trawling and I'm sure that you'll come across the story and comic sooner than later.

The dates given and the appearance of Kingpin would suggest the story was the one beginning in this issue:
