Do you prefer to listen to singles or album tracks or b sides?
Of your fave band/artists? which of the above would you say you most listen to?
I mostly listen to album tracks as I think alot of album tracks are better than released singles and so never really get heard. |

Out of all the bands/artists I listen to, I listen to a mixture of all of those. Some of the bands/artists I like produce amazing tunes whether it be a single, album track or B-Side (for example Biffy Clyro) so it does not bother me. Besides I would rather listen to any tunes by the artists I like/listen to than the stuff I hate

Album tracks all the way. I like to fully explore an album. A pet hate of mine is people i've known who have spent like 10 pounds on an album and they only listen to like the one or two song. There are several albums i prefer the album tracks to the singles
I never check out b sides. I should do I have had the pleasure in finding demo's that should of made the album though. |

Mostly album tracks. The only singles I tend to listen to to any extent is sixties and late seventies singles.

I listen to Oasis' b side compilation album 'The Masterplan' often. I believe it's the best work they ever did |

Anyway, it really depends, I don't have a preference as such but then I do love discovering b-sides. I think it's that special moment where you feel like you're a real music fan because no one else is listening to this lol. Where rappers are concerned I also love getting their mix-tapes like Drake and Nicki Minaj. Oasis and Arctic Monkey's are great for b-sides. However where a lot of the artists I love are concerned, nothing beats just the original track listing. I'm definitely not a singles man. So overall, albums. |

I haven't listened to a B side in years, mainly becuase I don't buy singles anymore. If I buy an album by an artist, and I like the album, I will listen to the album tracks and singles that have been released from them.

I was not aware I could not listen to them all.
Surely it depends on the song and artist? Some people put their best stuff out as singles and leave the crap for the album, some people leave gems on the album and put out the crap for mass consumption and some put their experimental/better stuff on b-sides. Or rather, fans believe they are being 'true fans', 'different' and subversive by preferring b-sides. |

I mostly listen to album tracks as I think alot of album tracks are better than released singles and so never really get heard. Unfortunately EMI have systematically taken down pretty much all their songs from Youtube so you'll just have to take my word for it

Albums all the time. There's always loads of decent tracks which haven't and won't be released as singles, so always albums. I always find one half of an album is always better thna the other though and it takes me quite a while to listen and to all the tracks, get used to them and have my favourites.

This is a funny one. Whenever I get a new album that I love, there's always at least one track that I think the artist would be crazy not to release as a single...but then when they do release the track as a single, it gets over played and sort of spoils how special it was in the first place. A track concerning this that currently springs to mind is 'Countdown' from Beyonce's '4' album. It's incredible and I love it.
