Sky-go on iPad
Mrs Cee Jay
19-07-2011
Has anyone installed sky-go app on an ipad? I have tried, all fine except no sound. Just wondered if this is a common fault on ipads. A great picture, and free, if only I had sound.

No issues with it apart from the complete lack of channels and content.

I'm not interested in films and I have Sky HD so never watch anything live, but I suppose it is at least handy whilst out and about.

Is there any info to confirm Sky will plan to extend the amount of channels available on the app? It just doesn't seem to make sense to me to release such a watered down version of the content that is available through the PC version (which has 30 channels I believe).

It would be fantastic if this worked on demand as well as streaming live.

Downloaded the Sky Go iPhone 4 app. It wont let me log in.

The problem is that when I touch the username and password box, no cursor or keyboard appear. Therefore I cannot enter my details.

Has anyone else encountered and solved this problem already?

Downloaded to ipad and iphone 4, ipad app says 'no internet conenction' and crashes, iphone 4 just says it cant load content.

Not too bothered, I dont have sports or movies anyway so its pretty useless until more channels get added!

Is there anything stopping you entering a friends id and using this?

I'm assuming that using Sky Go on a tablet will count as one of the 2 allowable devices.
Amazing

Downloaded this to iphone 4 & ipod touch with no problems. Picture quality is excellent.

Nope, as long as you have a friend willing to let you and give up one of their two licences.

And once you have registered a device, you can only change them once a month.

So it isn't like you and a friend could easily 'flipflop' between each of you using the same account details on multiple devices.

But yes, you could have one device each.

Can the devices be used simultaneously though?

I didn't think the iPad had HDMI out.

You can view on 2 devices simultaneously so you will both be able to use one licence.

You'll need a jail broken iPad to view the app on the big screen via Location Out or TV2TV out (the latter of which is free from Cydia.)

I've got this app and it's great but it's such a shame there's such amlimited variety of channels. I'd like the full list of movie channels with some entertainment channels thrown in as well. Does anyone know if or when sky are adding new channels or on demand content

I had the same problem and the Sky page on Facebook solved it for me. I was touching on the words username and password, which did nothing. I was told to go to the right of them and try again, which worked. Try Facebook if this doesn't work for you.
