Any changes to Challenge TV on Freeview?
Nutty Timbo

Hi there.

Does anyone know if there are any imminant changes to be made to Challenge TV's output on Freeview?

My EPG for Challenge doesn't update beyond this coming Monday at 6:00am, and whenever this has happened in the past, it usually indicates a change or even a stop in transmission.

Thanks in advance for any help you can give. Regards,

Tim.

The Freeview EPG here goes up to Wed 27/7/11 for Challenge. What EPG are you using?

and yet it's still not available in the evenings in Wales. Any reason we can't drop a shopping channel in return for Challenge tv in the evenings?

Because the shopping channel(s) have a contract with a multiplex operator for evening transmission in Wales and Chanllege doesn't?!

I've also found being from the Southampton area that Challenge doesn't broadcast in the evening since being moved further down the Freeview channel.

Challenge doesn't actually broadcast at all on channel 795 (it's a VERY misleading message). You should be able to do a first time installation/retune with "delete channels"/retune with the aerial out then a normal retune to get Challenge back on channel 46. If that still doesn't work, try a factory reset (can be called either that or something like Default Setting, Factory Setting or Shipping Condition in the menus).

Up Here in Northern Ireland Challenge does not broadcast at all on 46 and the other Channel so it is Back to sky till Freeview gets their act together and sorts the Problem out

It's not Freeview's fault (Freeview is a marketing company, full stop). It's most likely Sky's fault.

Assuming you can receive the other channels on Mux C (Sky News and Pick TV for instance), doing a factory reset should sort it.

According to DMOL, LCN46 on Mux C is available in Northern Ireland.

LCN795 the technically "illegal" Challenge caption has ceased broadcasting. HOWEVER it still exists as a placeholder for the time being with entries in the NIT & SDT. They should be gone in a few days time.

I used to like Blockbusters back in the days, i saw one episode with Lisa Tarbuck or what ever her name is and that was to be honest awful.

I never bothered to retune my PVR/TV, so at the moment i can't get challenge, i don't think a remake of Blockbusters will really get me to retune
