Really Cliche Lyrics?

In a lot of love songs all I hear is '' catch me when I fall'' and '' oh baby'' and of course '' I don't want to let go/ please don't let me go/ I'll never let you go '' and in most songs currently it's all about the ' DJ' , getting ' on the floor' and the ' dancefloor' . What are yours?

Anything to do with 'on the floor', 'dance floor', 'in the club', 'dancing all night' I currently cannot stomach.

"Cuts like a knife" is a particular bugbear of Mr Mackintosh.
I hate when "heart" gets rhymed with "tore me apart" or "right from the start"

This. I've got three songs in my iTunes called Put Your Hands Up, all released in the last twelve months - Kylie Minogue's, Nadine Coyle's and Nerina Pallot's.

Then there's the recent trend for cheesy self-empowerment/nobody's perfect type songs i.e. Pink ("don't you ever feel like you're less than f*****g perfect"), Lady Gaga ("He made you perfect"), Jessie J ("nobody's perfect"), Alexandra Burke ("I know I'm not perfect, but at the end of the day, who is?") etc

On the lines of: He cheated. I Love him. Took him back. Cheated. Leaving him he is going to be sorry.

you are the one for me
any reference to a 'heart' e'g 'broken heart'
shutting down the club/ blazing up the club
move your body
any reference to the 'beat' e.g the beat won't stop/ this beat is pumping
I want to hold you/ hold me close
I'm so over you ( in break-up songs)

check out Pixie Lott's new song , it's full of cliches

Oh God, anything involving "in da club" and men describing the physical attributes of women they meet there are the biggest offenders

The word "baby" is totally overused in lyrics these days I notice. I especially wish Gaga would stop it "Baby it's so cruel but I'm still in love with Judas baby" "Tonight yeah baby, tonight yeah baby" I love both of those songs but I can't supress a twinge of irritation when I hear those lines.

another vote for hands in the air/ being told to put your hands up

also 'the club' and the various descriptions of women that apparently inhabit them

Here you go, virtually every line is a cliche.

'Down on my knees'

'I swear' or 'I'm begging' usually get trotted out a fair bit...
