I did search the forum but didn't find anything similar so here goes guys. I have a Samsung LE32R74BD that the picture just clicked off and left just the sound. It powers on ok and there is a half a second flash of light then back to a black screen. After a bit of internet researching I wrongly came to the conclusion it could be the t-con board which I replaced but it is still the same.
I locked at the power supply board and none of the capacitors appear to be bulging in any way.
Would it be worth replacing the iverter board do you think? I have sourced one on ebay for £20 but I am wondering if it's worth it. Does anyone in the know think its worth doing?
The card in there now is a 4H.V1448.291/B1 card.

Are the CCFL's lit up?, do they come on briefly then go off?, or do they never come on?.

If they are lit all the time then it's not the inverter, in the other cases it 'could be'.

It could also (in any case) be faulty capacitors on the PSU (which don't always bulge), which in turn has trashed the firmware in the set (a VERY common fault on Samsung sets).

haha , just looked it up , No I can't see anything lit up at all. When you first switch the power on from the remote there is very small burst of white light from what looks like the bottom of the screen then it goes off.

Just took the back panel off and powered it up. The backlight flicks on then flicks straight back off again.

It 'could' be the inverter - or it could even be one of the CCFL tubes, if one or more tubes don't fire up correctly most LCD sets will shut the inverter down totally.
