DVB-T to DVB-C???
Hi. Anyone know of a way to switch my Panasonic Viera TX-32LXD60 from running on DVB-T to DVB-C as told this may be the reason our set doesn't work in Gibraltar?
Many Thanks |

You can't.
If you don't have access to the British Forces Broadcasting Service cable network then you'll need to go satellite for decent English content. You'll need a set top box either way. |

Get a cheap cable box. That's providing the Gibraltar DVB-C transmissions are unencrypted and you have a connection into their cable network. Is it provided by the BFBS?
I would imagine that (depending on where you are), with an aerial of some sorts you would quite likely be able to receive the TDT channels from Spain on your current DVB-T tuner. As far as I'm aware a lot of these channels have a second audio option carrying the original soundtrack on programmes such as American imports. |

Hi thanks for your replys. We've brought a local DVB digi box (GIBSAT) and tried that through the AV1 and AV2 scart sockets on the panasonic but still nothing being picked up. Is it possible the digi box would work with an additional set top box? It all works fine with the older Philips model that was left here. Thanks again for your help

It would help if you clarified whether you're trying to access a cable network, satellite transmissions or terrestrial transmissions.
The name of the box you have suggests it's a satellite box, which will not be compatible with a cable TV network. |

" IT all works fine with the older Philips model that was left here." What works with the Phillips ? the new digi box ?, Just the Phillips on its own ? etc etc |

The Gibsat is a cable box. As for the Philips TV, it works plugging it in to the ariel connection in the property and also tunes in fine to the Gibsat box. Have noticed on the Panasonic instructions it has (U.K. Standard) whether that means it only works on UK signal?
Thanks |

Thanks However, I would have expected the cable box to work as long as it is connected via scart. You could try connecting the cable box to the old Philips, set the cable box to output a standard composite signal via scart (the most basic), it may be called CVBS and then plugging it back into the Panasonic. Worth a try. |
