I generally like everything tomatoes (don't think I've ever had tomato juice though) but I'm not keen on Tomato Ketchup. Whenever I've had people round for a meal, they've found it weird that I haven't had it in the house...when I couldn't oblige my dad especially, he looked at me as though I was taking the p!ss! Never, ever bought it.

I have some funny food habits. Ketchup is one of them. I don't like it on it's own or on chips.
I do like it on burgers and hotdogs. I use it all the time in cooking and dips (ketchup + mayo, or with bbq sauce or soy etc. basically as a base).

Small, vine tomatos are lovely in a summer salad. Bigger toms are better grilled, roasted or added to a recipe.

Ketchup with chips (although I hardly ever eat them) but Daddies if baked beans are involved. I always have ketchup in the fridge as it is useful to add to stews etc.

Tomato soup is lovely, especially if it's homemade tomato and chilli.

Tomato juice is vile.

Tinned tomatos only in a recipe.

While talking of tomatoes I would like to say that the American pronunciation of tomato is the logically correct one

Think about it, if ours was correct then we should also pronounce Potato "pot-ar-toe" not "pot-ay-toe"

American "Tom-ay-toe" and "Pot-ay-toe" makes sense.

British "Tom-ar-toe" and "Pot-ay-toe" doesn't make sense.

Thats all

To quote (ish) Steve Cobert - "you say tomato, I say why the hell are you saying tomato to me, you're strange"

I got the tomato juice cos I'd read that tomatos are a good source of something that's very healthy to have an abundance of in yo' diet. I thought getting the juice would be simpler (aimed to add it to my jucied raspeberries and strawberries concoction) than buying them whole and then sqyishing them, (and cheaper). Luckily I didn't add the whole carton cos it turned it almost vile. Tried the t-juice on its own and was retching afterwards = yauck yauck aycuk. Right now I'm drinking from a jug of raspberries, strawsberries, pomegranets and cranberries. And thankfuly though there is still reminents of tomato there, there ain't no taste of the beasts. Yum.

I eat tomatoes in one form or another, every single day.
I love tomato juice, soup, puree, sauce, ketchup, tinned and fresh tomatoes.

Guess tomatoes are in my top food list.

I thought I was the only person in the world who does this!! Friends and family think I'm strange (OK, I admit, not only for this reason ).

I didn't before, although it does usually say 'refrigerate after opening' on the label, but I don't have as much cupboard space as I used to.

Certainly, during the summer, we have toms in some form virtually every day and in the colder months probably about 4 times a week.

Cherry tomatoes are a tasty, healthy, snack to eat whilst watching a film or tv.
If you want to try something different and a little less healthy, put in your mouth a salt and vinegar crisp then pop in a cherry tomato with it, burst it, wow ! taste explosion

I am gonna give that a try, sounds even nicer than a crisp sarnie.
