Hi, i'm getting a new DSLR camera and have a budget of £350. I currently have the canon 400d so have 2 lenses. I have seen 2 canon cameras within my budget, the canon eos 1000d that comes with the image stabaliser lens or the 1100d body only.

which would u choose?

Neither.

The 1000D is the old entry level DSLR and the 1100D is its successor. The 400D is a step up Canon's DSLR ladder, although it's older now. Try and eBay yours and raise an extra hundred quid and you should be able to get a 500D, which is quite a bit newer, but still old enough to have lowered in price (think they're on the 600D now).

what do you want the new body to do that the 400 won't? I'd be aiming to move into the 50/60d bracket to make it worthwhile. the 40d is within budget on ebay and is a fantastic step up from the 400d.

I'd suggest the 500D as a more worthwhile upgrade, if you look around you could possibly get a deal for around £400-450 for the body. There also the upgrade to that model the 600D, but apart from the tilt out screen there virtually the same, only really worth the extra few quids if its something you really need.
