With the Steps reunion confiremd and a new best-of in the works what do you think/want will be included.

Remember all singles were released on GOLD back in 2000/1

all of the singles except You'll Be Sorry were included on the Gold album.

I was the biggest steps fan back in the day but i really don't see the need of releasing a new greatest hits album. I will watch the doc though.

I was wondering this myself. Gold sold incredibly well (Over 1 million I believe) and they haven't released anything since. I still can't believe they missed 'You'll Be Sorry' off it though. One of their best singles Hopefully this new collection will rectify that!

The only way I can see it doing well is by stick a few extra tracks on it, but they already released those on 'The Last Dance'. I suppose it could be a 'Best of'' and mix in a few of their best album tracks with the bigger singles. Still not sure if it would sell though.

They'll probabbly just re-press 'Gold' but change the title and cover.

Probably includes a comeback single, or old demos.

Being as objective as I could be and canvassing opinion from those with other tastes in music to get a more orounded view, if I compiled a list of wished for reunions, Steps would be nowhere to be seen. This has to be a marketing ploy to make money from the metally ill-equipped!

Greatest Hits?

You would have to be pretty twisted to give any of their drivel such a title!

Haha I know! I hated them, much preferred Spice Girls and S Club 7. I did like Say You'll Be Mine though

How did you manage to find things to like that sounded equally bad... or in the case of S Club 7... worse!

I'll wait for The Greatest Hits of Hi-De-Hi.

Really hope they decide to tour, I'll be there just like I was for the Gold Greatest Hits tour in 2001.

I forgot H & Claire formed a duo having just looked at wikipedia

I assume H & Claire fell out with the others so pissed off to do their own thing and then failed miserably?

I must be pretty twisted and mentally ill-equipped then because I love Steps. I did back in the day, however they did put out some bland songs (Words Are Not Enough, When I Said Goodbye) and I can't really listen to 5,6,7,8 like I could when I was 8. But hits like Tragedy, You'll Be Sorry, Chain Reaction, One For Sorrow, Better The Devil You Know, Heartbeat etc. are great in my opinion.

i agree. they may not a have been credible artists. however, they made some good pop songs. it was harmless fun. a couple of the girls actually had pretty good voices.

Is there really going to be a market for this? I mean, they aren't exactly going to be in the leagues of Take That when it comes to hype etc for another Greatest Hits. I'm sure if any fan wanted a Greatest Hits they would have the original one that came out before they disbanded.

although GOLD did contain "Words Are Not Enough"..the single version is different and was released after..so that is a possible option?
Also "Baby Don't Dance" as a single mix..I am sure there was a promo released
How about "Human Touch" or "Mars And venus" which were recorded during the Buzz era but not released in UK
I wonder if it will contain any solo material from H & Claire or Lisa? possibly unlikely
I would enjoy a bonus disc of instrumental/karaoke versions but am probably pushing it

I was only 8 when S Club 7 came out first... I had terrible taste in music back then lol

I agree, I really liked them. I saw them in Brighton in 1999. Though I wasn't 8, I was a lot older.

If they are re-releasing their Greatest Hits I would love them to put the remix of Heartbeat that they done on the Gold Greatest Hits Tour and maybe put on a couple of unreleased tracks that they done on their tours eg R Dancing, Come On Get Together, Close To Me

Maybe they will add in h and claire solo stuff on the new greatest hits. I cant see the greatest hits doingvery well though unless they release a new single that does ok r something, gold sold over a million copies for them and with nothing new to add its doubtful it will do well. On saying that when i first heard take that were releasing the ultimate collection i thought the same thing, so what do i know.
