Totally correct, it does stand out, sucks as much as a brussel sprout fart from a pikey on a Circle Line journey.

Mmm, there are so many good '80's tunes,

but probably: 'Heart and soul' by Huey lewis and the news, 'Wood Beez (pray like Aretha Franklin)' by Scritti politti, and 'Victim of love' by Erasure, along with many others.

Nope it was the 70s. When I can't remember as I was only born in the Queen's Silver Jubilee year. I think Mr Blue Sky was mid-70s. Good song though

1) The Boys of Summer - Don Henley. Best Summer record ever, poetic rock from a master.

2) Running Up That Hill - Kate Bush. What a concept, what a sound.

3) We Don't Have To - Jermaine Stewart. That rarest of things musical, intelligent disco.

Maybe of the 80s, but Schools Out from the 70 beats it by a mile ( and a decade)

I can relate to the others youve posted though

Yeah, Schools Out was the best 70's Summer song by a long way. Alice Did us all a service by knocking Donny Osmond off number one.... back when a number one record actually meant you'd sold a few.

Indeed it was, and entirely stolen from the far Superior Rick James song - Superfreak. All McHammer did was add new words... and baggy trousers.

I've never actually heard any of these songs (with maybe an exception ot two) during the 80s, because I was too little, I only listened to them in the 90s and 2000s... so sorry if I'm not sure about the years.
