Because on the one side, you and the OP say that people don't bother with rescue centres, but then you go on to say that was the first place you went (and were refused) when you looked for a cat. Maybe you wont go to a rescue centre again, but my point was that you did originally, and a lot of people still do so my theory of 3 cats in a home losing to 3 cats being hoimes privately could still hold a little weight.

Same here - all the dogs/cats I have had were neutered. OK, my mares weren't, but all our stallions got the chop.
